In the 16th arrondissement, this apartment is well-placed to explore Paris. Mirabeau metro station is only a two-minute walk away, ready to zip you across the city. Art enthusiasts will love the collection of landscapes, portraits, and still lifes hanging on the walls back home. We also love that the Juliet balconies add a quintessential Parisian touch. It's a good fit for families, as the second bedroom has lofted single beds. The kitchen is a little small, but with a bevvy of restaurants nearby, we don't think you'll mind.

Keep things local, exploring the upmarket boutiques and bistros on your doorstep. Or hop on the nearby Yasmin Metro for direct access to the Eiffel Tower and Champs-Élysées. If we were being pernickety, the open wardrobe rails offer limited storage, and the last two guests sleeping on a sofa bed in the lounge won't suit everyone. But for a home this beautiful and spacious, we can forgive that.

While the home sleeps four, at full occupancy guests two and three will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area – this set-up won’t suit everyone as the only bathroom is accessed via the only bedroom (although there is a separate WC). It’s a great choice for a couple that doesn’t mind being a little further removed from the centre of the city, as it’s located between Porte de Auteuil and Porte de Saint Cloud in the 16th arrondissement. When you do want to see the sights, you need only walk a few minutes to Exelmans metro. The apartment is simple but attractive, with plenty of space for two.

An excellent base amid Passy's shops and eateries, this seventh-floor apartment is perched near the Trocadéro Gardens and not far from the Eiffel Tower. Taller guests might have to mind the sloped ceilings, but the light living space promises a lovely spot for itinerary planning. While the second bedroom has internal windows, the curtains offer nighttime privacy. Best suited to those with busy schedules, this home lacks air conditioning and a television. That said, the small desk is a bonus for business travellers.

It’s a duplex in a great location, just a short walk from Place du Trocadéro, with great transport links right on the doorstep. There’s a balcony that boasts views over the rooftops of Paris from the top-floor vantage point. We love how much space there is here, and how convenient a base it is – there are desks for those working during their stay, among other amenities to ensure your stay is a comfortable one. Some of the decor is a touch dated, but we think the layout and location of this home make it an excellent choice.

Two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living and dining room, which features vintage armchairs, a Persian rug, and, best of all, sliding doors to the private garden.

The kitchen is well-stocked to rustle up meals at home, both bedrooms are ample in size, and there's even a balcony ideal for alfresco aperitifs. Factor in the location, just a ten-minute walk from Trocadéro Gardens, and it's easy to see why it caught our eye.

Much like the exterior, there's plenty of character inside, too – high ceilings, parquet floors, and Juliet balconies with flower boxes are the definition of Parisian charm. There's plenty of space for socialising between the living area and open-plan kitchen, and with three single bedrooms (including one with a trundle bed), we think it's an excellent option for families.

This studio apartment is located in the neighbourhood of Auteuil, sandwiched between the River Seine and the Bois de Boulogne. It may be compact, but there’s a comfortable sofa for relaxing on after a busy day seeing the sights and you can throw open the door to the small balcony to maximise the space. While the kitchen is ideal for preparing snacks and light bites, it doesn’t have an oven – the perfect excuse for heading to one of the local restaurants for a Boeuf Bourguignon.

It's just the right size for a pair – there's a snug living space with a table that doubles as a desk, as well as a generous kitchen for lazy nights at home. Location-wise, Auteuil is a bit further from the landmarks, but you can still explore on foot. Both the Eiffel Tower and Jardins du Trocadéro are about a thirty-minute walk, though a metro station is also nearby to whisk you further afield.

This chic apartment has great views of the surrounding streets of Beaugrenelle from its two balconies, where you might start your morning with a coffee while soaking up the city atmosphere. The living room might be a bit cosy with six guests, but you could always open up the balcony doors for more space. There's a fully-equipped kitchen if you fancy cooking, and the record player is just begging to be used – you can imagine settling on the balcony with a drink and Françoise Hardy in the background. Beaugrenelle used to house Paris' great industrial factories, but in their place, you'll now find the peaceful Parc André Citroën and glittering high rises.
