This cute and cosy home is a perfect Parisian bolthole for a solo traveller or couple. It is located overlooking a quiet inner courtyard and a hundred metres from the foodie haven of Rue Montorgueil. This vibrant pedestrianised street in the heart of Paris is one of the city's permanent markets and means the studio's kitchen is likely to go unused. It boasts some of the best meat and fish in the capital, alongside celebrated pastry shops like La Maison Stohrer, cosy bistros, quirky boutiques, and a diverse range of bars that's likely to please hipsters and traditionalists alike. This home is lived in, with personal items peppered around the apartment that only add to the warmth of the place. We love the high ceilings that make the flat feel much more spacious than its footprint would suggest and the contemporary decor and furnishings – a favourite is the bright Mexican Day of the Dead cushions.

Tulum

Located in the less touristy 10th district of Paris and a short walk to the bars and concept stores of the artsy Canal Saint-Martin, this charming Parisian apartment provides the perfect couple's cocoon or solo travellers sanctuary. The apartment's interiors have been carefully curated to deliver an elegant mid-century look, with some Victorian twists and turns dotted around the space to spice up it's aesthetic even further. You'll find quaint treasures and accessories throughout and even an upright piano for any aspiring Debussy. Pick up your favourite pastries from the local bakery to tuck into over a coffee at the breakfast bar, while you plan the day's adventures ahead. With Gare de l'Est (one of Paris' major train stations) only a five-minute stroll away, you'll be well-connected to just about anywhere in Paris, meanwhile, other destinations in France will also be at your fingertips if you're looking to take day trips to other nearby destinations too.

The Treasure Trove

This functional one-bedroom apartment shines for its location in the heart of the Marais – just a pleasant stroll away from most of the central sights. Equipped with a modern kitchen and smart dining area, it's a practical home for a couple also looking to spend a little time at home. Admittedly, the aesthetic is a little simple and the amenities list not as extensive as some of our other homes, but with such a great location, Durance provides good value as well as fresh and modern spaces. 

Durance

Between the buzzing centre of Paris and the super chic Le Marais neighbourhood, this art-filled apartment is ideal for creative types. It’s a ten-minute walk to the world-class collection of the Louvre, and thirteen minutes to Notre Dame. But stick around in Le Marais, and you’ll find niche museums, bijou boutiques and galleries, and trendy bars. The apartment itself is in a handsome Haussmann building of big windows and wrought-iron balconies. Stepping inside feels like stepping into one of the chichi galleries of Le Marais as big, bold contemporary artworks adorn the white walls in high-ceiling rooms. The French windows in the living room look out over an internal courtyard, so it’s blissfully quiet – perfect if you want to curl up on the velvet sofa with a book from the mini-library. The kitchen is all sleek modernism, with a quartz island and sunny breakfast table for a morning coffee and croissant.

A Thousand Words

This one-bedroom apartment is a cosy cabin perched high in the sky. It's location on the seventh floor of a building with no elevator may not suit everyone, but your reward for undertaking the additional exercise is a glorious light filled living space and spectacular views overlooking the rooftops of Paris. You’ll be staying in the trendy 9th arrondissement with lots of local life on your doorstep, as well as Montmartre and the Sacré-Coeur within walking distance. 

Under Over

Located in one of Paris' oldest neighbourhoods, Monnaie, this traditional apartment promises an authentic stay in the historic city of lights. Located on the left bank of the Seine, it's a haven away from the hustle and bustle and yet many of the top cultural landmarks are all easily reachable on foot. 

We particularly love the original wood beams, sloped ceilings and Juliet balconies that hark out Parisian design and flair. The centrepiece of this characterful home is the grand piano at the far end of the open-plan living area – besides it, you'll find a lovely spot for a sing-along or a quiet moment's downtime while gazing out across the rooftops and soaking up the calm atmosphere. Gather the group for breakfast in the elegant dining area, with croissants and cups of coffee being passed around. There's even a light-filled desk space upstairs and a cosy reading nook for those who are keeping one eye on work or who are after a gentler start to the day. 

When you're ready and raring to hit the streets, the surrounding neighbourhood is an artsy area, loved by locals and tourists alike for its galleries, museums and upscale jewellery stores. When you've worked up an appetite, you'll find many of the restaurants and bars offer gorgeous river views for special outdoor meals together. 

For those looking to see the cultural attractions, we recommend starting with a stroll through the Luxembourg Gardens, a nine-minute walk away, and a visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral, ten minutes from your building (on foot). Other must-see sights, including the Louvre, the Panthéon, and the Sainte-Chapelle are all under twenty minutes' walk away too. Our recommendation? Spend an afternoon in the quirky Latin Quarter – where boutiques, bars and bookshops all vie for your attention. 

The Pianist

Ideally located in the heart of Paris, this apartment is within easy walking distance of some of the city’s most famous attractions, including the Louvre Museum and the Palais Garnier. At capacity, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area, and as the shower and bath are located in the bedroom, privacy will be limited. While the kitchenette is small, it’s well-appointed – though we can’t imagine you’ll do much cooking here, thanks to the range of fantastic restaurants on the doorstep. 

A Time in Blue

Cosy and curious, this petite apartment is housed in one of Paris’ oldest buildings. Exposed beams add to the historic charm – the style won’t be to everyone’s taste. This is a studio apartment, so you’ll be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living and dining space – we recommend packing light if you don’t want it to feel crowded. Happily, you’re in the heart of Le Marais, so you’ve every reason to spend your time out and about exploring. Musée Picasso is just a stone’s throw away, and you can reach pretty Île Saint Louis in no time. Saint Paul metro is close too, making seeing further-afield sights as easy as can be. 

Marais Charms

Set in the heart of Le Marais, this apartment is a sleek base from which to explore the capital. The Notre Dame Cathedral is within walking distance, and the Arts et Métiers metro station is a couple hundred metres away for journeys across Paris. Attention to detail is apparent throughout, from the fully equipped kitchen to the hotel-quality linen. What’s more, your host provides complimentary yoga mats. While there is a balcony here, it’s small, with nowhere to sit.


Champagne Truffles

Best suited to young families, this bright apartment offers a fuss-free base in Le Marais. Trendy cafes and restaurants line your doorstep, which will come in handy since there's no oven here. We think the bunk beds offer a cool sleeping option for kids, while grown-ups will sleep on the sofa bed. There may be a curtain to cover the interior glass window, but a casual layout limits privacy. Nevertheless, historic landmarks are a stroll away, and public transport links keep Parisian sightseeing easy.

Marais Melody

A mere five-minute walk from one of Paris’ most iconic landmarks – the Louvre Museum – this apartment places you in a prime position for soaking up the delights of the French capital. Practical and fuss-free, this is a comfortable home for up to four guests – just bear in mind that at full occupancy, two people will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area. The compact kitchen makes home cooking possible, but with this home’s enviable location in Les Halles, dining out is sure to be on the cards here. 

Louvre Gem

Cosy and authentic through and through with (very) low ceilings and exposed beams, this one-bedroom apartment is a real haven for those looking to stay in Paris for a little longer than a short stay. In contrast with the more rustic charm of the living space, the kitchen and bathroom have been recently renovated and boast modern appliances and a rainfall shower respectively. For those who enjoy exploring, the Marais' eclectic boutiques, restaurants and cafés are just on your doorstep.
