While it may be a little on the smaller side at full occupancy, its style and furnishings more than make up for it – we especially love the home’s high ceilings and parquet wooden floor. Each of the three bedrooms is as expertly styled as the next, although if we were being picky, they feel a little short on floor space. But for such an unbeatable central location, we can forgive that. Call in on Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum. Take a turn around the gardens of the Palais Royal. Or soak up the splendour of Notre Dame. It’s all within easy walking distance in the Montorgueil district.

This bright, stylish home not only wowed us with its looks but also with its prime floor-to-ceiling views over Paris' rooftops (spot the Eiffel Tower in the distance). This creative and utopian space is an oasis of calm, with a plethora of eye-catching design elements that have been carefully curated by the hosts who are – unsurprisingly – artists themselves. We love the feature lighting in the living room and the tumble of houseplants that gives the open space a bohemian vibe. Our favourite feature, however, is the large terrace where a table and chairs invite alfresco breakfasts (provided by your host) and sunset drinks while watching the Iron Lady sparkle in the distance. With a desk in the bedroom, you can easily catch up on work before setting out for a day of sightseeing. Speaking of exploring, you’re just a fifteen-minute walk from the Canal St Martin, while both Montmartre and Le Marais are under a twenty-five-minute walk away.

The pale wooden floors represent the dining area, where you can feast with your friends. And finally, the black-and-white chequered floor signifies the start of the kitchen zone, with a fun light-up wall sign that ensures you know where to find the coffee. After your café au lait, head out into the local area. To continue on the theme of colourful and unique design landmarks, the Centre Pompidou is just a fifteen-minute walk. Or if you’re looking for drinking and dining, the Canal Saint-Martin is fifteen minutes in the other direction. This area is one of Paris’ trendiest spots for waterside cocktails and street food.

Aside from this, we really can't think of many low points. A lovely base for a comfortable trip.

Formerly a railway company office, huge, warehouse-style windows fill the place with natural light and the double-height living room is a big open space made for socialising. A mix of pendant lamps and sparkling chandeliers blend industrial-chic with pure Parisian grandeur and we love the quirky touches like graffiti-style art on the wall and a film reel lamp on the coffee table.
