The Sacré Coeur is also a short stroll away, and you’ll have a wide variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants on your doorstep. Other attractions include the Galeries Lafayette, around twenty minutes on foot. Back at this home, set on three levels, there are two living areas. One has a small terrace – perfect for an alfresco drink, and another sleeps two guests on a sofa bed at full occupancy. A couple of things to mention – the stairs here are a little steep, and the ceilings are a bit low in places. This place is ideal for friends and families looking for an excellent address.

The kitchen is quite narrow, but it’s well-equipped for creating some home-cooked meals and there’s room around the adjacent table for all your family or friends.

Best of all, you don’t even need to step outside to catch a glimpse of the iconic Basilica – you can drink in the view over your morning coffee in the open-plan living and dining space. The windows frame quaint Parisian street scenes, and you could while away the hours simply watching the world go by, fresh coffee in hand. The iconic Sacré-Cœur is less than ten minutes away on foot, and offers fantastic views over the city. Meanwhile, the cute cafés and artisanal shops that this area is known for do not disappoint, and you could easily lose yourself for a few days simply wandering as you munch on a crêpe from one of the street vendors. However, if you want to visit some other parts of the city, simply hop on the métro at Abbesses station – it's just two minutes away from your front door, and will whisk you into the city centre in no time.

It’s not often that we put a bathroom in such high esteem – its marble sink and rainfall walk-in shower just a few of the highlights. After exploring every corner of this apartment, it’s time to explore the area. Your locale is awash with bars, cafés, boutiques, and galleries. But a six-minute walk away, you can discover the entire city from the Lamarck - Caulaincourt metro stop.

You'll find heaps of entertainment options – not only literature but also films to watch on the projector as well as music and games - while aspiring chefs will appreciate the no-fuss kitchen full of useful gadgets and a stocked pantry. Although a group of five may find having one bathroom slightly impractical, we feel that the home's characterful interior more than makes up for the inconvenience of sharing.

The location of this apartment is what really caught our eye, though. A short stroll and you’ll find shops and cafes, while for more iconic sights, Basilique du Sacré-Cœur is a short distance away, as is the Moulin Rouge.

Tucked between the Moulin Rouge and the Sacred Heart Basilica, you can enjoy a quaint retreat in the heart of the city. With floor-to-ceiling windows, a delightful fireplace, charming wainscoting and ornate coving, it has the most lovely features. Nestled high in a newly renovated building, the tradition has been captivated and restored. Our favourite spot is the window seat. For early risers, this is the place to settle with a cup of coffee, watching as the world stirs to life below. 

With all the colours of the rainbow lighting up this apartment, the home is awash with happy vibes. There’s such a vintage Pigalle feel to this home, with mid-century furnishings and a sexy vibe with black decor. Quirky artwork such as a lobster’s skeleton set in glass might sound odd, but everything works in harmony here to create the epitome of bohemian, sophisticated, Parisian chic. After a pain aux raisins and a café au lait, head ten minutes to the Sacré-Cœur, via winding slopes of Montmartre's uniquely artsy streets. Later (after a few cocktails), check out a gig at La Cigale or a show at the Moulin Rouge just two minutes away. And with metro stops all along the street (the closest being a one-minute walk), you don’t even need to stay local. Wherever you end up, we cannot stress the importance of returning home to your balcony at night – the glittering sight of Paris after dark with a glass of champagne in hand is completely unforgettable.


Le Chat Noir

This apartment in Montmarte is exactly what you might envision when you think of this area – quaint and petite. The kitchen is well-equipped but a little compact, though there’s an extendable dining table for meals at home. And while you’ll need to climb some stairs to reach this apartment, once you’re up, you’ll feel at home. The location is what really caught our eye here, with La Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, Abbesses’s boutiques and Montmartre’s authentic eateries on your doorstep. Should you wish to take your sightseeing adventures further afield, Anvers metro station is a short walk away.

Montmartre Retreat

A fifteen-minute walk from Sacré-Cœur Basilica, this apartment is in the heart of Montmartre. Shops, restaurants, cafes – it's all at your fingertips here, with a metro station nearby for adventures further afield. There's plenty to enjoy back home, too. Need to work from home? You'll find two desks ideal for digital nomads. Prefer to take it slow? Lounge on the sofa while listening to an album on the record player. Topping it all off is the courtyard and small balcony, where you can nibble on brie, share a bottle of wine, and enjoy the fresh air.

Located in Montmartre, arguably one of the most romantic areas of Paris – this home has a charming setting. It has a bohemian atmosphere thanks to the many artists who have lived in this neighbourhood over the years, from Dalí and Monet to Picasso and Van Gogh. Have a stroll and soak up the atmosphere or visit Sacré Coeur (five minutes on foot). A ten-minute saunter will take you to the Moulin Rouge, while the Musée de la Vie Romantique, situated in the house of the painter Ary Scheffer, is a twelve-minute wander. After all that exploring, head back to this cosy home, housed in a period building. Watch a movie in the home cinema or put some records on the vinyl player and kickback, before cooking some dinner (there's a handy rice cooker in the kitchen). There's an office here too if you need to catch up on work. If the weather turns chilly, sit down by the fire on the Eames style rocker with a good book. Or, on warm days, open up the windows to the Juliette balcony and let the fresh air and the sounds of Paris in.

A stroll from cityscape views at the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, this lived-in apartment is a soulful base with plenty of antique charm. Fancy a walk in the park? You'll stay on a restaurant-lined street, just off the leafy Square Louise Michel. Reflecting Montmartre's creative culture, the living room's bookshelves are well-stocked to make up for no television. There's a handy desk for business travellers, too. While this home may lack air conditioning and a tumble dryer, you'll have an enviable location in the 18th arrondissement.

Occupying a privileged spot on Rue de Martyrs, the location of this apartment means you can explore Montmartre straight from the door. You’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to restaurants, bars and shops. Plus, there are great public transport links making it easy to adventure further afield. It’s worth noting the apartment is on the first floor with no lift access, but it’s well equipped and perfect for solo travellers and couples. There’s also a handy sofa bed for two guests in the living room.
