If you’re in search of a central base from which to explore Paris, this apartment is a great option. You can stroll into the heart of Pigalle and you’ll find Galeries Lafayette and Palais Garnier Opera are within easy walking distance. Parking can be tricky here, but there are great public transport links and there is taxi stand nearby. It’s worth noting you will need to climb three flights of stairs to reach the apartment, but once inside there’s everything you could need to settle in and make it your own. The decor is simple, the rooms are family-friendly and it’s well-equipped for remote workers.

Sacré-Cœur, Montmartre and the Palais Garnier opera house are all under a twenty-minute walk. In fact, getting around is easy as this home is a few minutes walk from three different metro stations.

South Pigalle is a lively and artsy enclave nestled between Opéra and Montmartre. With metro stations nearby and plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance, it makes an excellent base for both seasoned visitors and first-time tourists. The apartment itself is also a chic place to call home. We love the amount of light in the living area, as well as the character features like arched windows and herringbone floors. Just keep in mind that two guests will sleep on a sofa bed – a worthwhile compromise, given the central location.

This stylish French apartment, centrally located in the 9th Arrondissement district, is as quintessentially Parisian as it gets. But don't be fooled by its 19th Century Haussmann appearance. When the bustle of the Parisian streets below finally calls you down, mosey around the nearby market street (two minutes on foot) for all the baguettes and fromage you could muster, or take a rummage in the antique stores and independent boutiques on your doorstep. There’s such a vintage Pigalle feel to this home, with mid-century furnishings and a sexy vibe with black decor. Quirky artwork such as a lobster’s skeleton set in glass might sound odd, but everything works in harmony here to create the epitome of bohemian, sophisticated, Parisian chic. After a pain aux raisins and a café au lait, head ten minutes to the Sacré-Cœur, via winding slopes of Montmartre's uniquely artsy streets. Later (after a few cocktails), check out a gig at La Cigale or a show at the Moulin Rouge just two minutes away. And with metro stops all along the street (the closest being a one-minute walk), you don’t even need to stay local. Wherever you end up, we cannot stress the importance of returning home to your balcony at night – the glittering sight of Paris after dark with a glass of champagne in hand is completely unforgettable.

Although there's quite a climb to get there without any lift, the views out of the six-storey windows, especially the glimpse of the Sacre Coeur are well worth the effort. Our favourite room is the living room, bright and trendy oozing style and character, a lovely spot to hang out after a day's exploration.

A magical place to stay in the heart of Paris, this home is light, fresh and full of pretty details. Recently renovated with a great deal of care (your host lives in this building too, so she's a big fan), it's up on a high floor of this beautiful Haussmannian building. Step inside and you'll find modern, calming shades of white, grey and pink, made all the more sophisticated thanks to a striking herringbone floor and a trio of period windows that look out over the rooftops.

Furnished with stylish, contemporary pieces and a lot of cleverly built-in storage, it's as practical as it is attractive. You'll have a small but perfectly formed kitchen, with everything you'll need for cooking at home, a breakfast bar and a cosy sofa. A room divider separates this living space from the bedroom and there's a desk so you can get some work done in comfort. And we love the marble bathroom with its big Italian shower.

Best of all, this home is in one of our favourite parts of the city. Vibrant and authentic, there are cafes and restaurants right on your doorstep, plus it's just a five-minute walk from Pigalle and ten from the Butte Montmartre.
