If you’re in search of a central base from which to explore Paris, this apartment is a great option. You can stroll into the heart of Pigalle and you’ll find Galeries Lafayette and Palais Garnier Opera are within easy walking distance. Parking can be tricky here, but there are great public transport links and there is taxi stand nearby. It’s worth noting you will need to climb three flights of stairs to reach the apartment, but once inside there’s everything you could need to settle in and make it your own. The decor is simple, the rooms are family-friendly and it’s well-equipped for remote workers. 

Simply Parisian 

Situated on Rue Saint-Lazare, this home is within walking distance of the Palais Garnier and the Louvre Museum. Other nearby places of interest include the Notre-Dame de Lorette church. There are plenty of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants to enjoy as well or you can cook some meals in the compact, but well-appointed kitchen back at this apartment. With metro stations nearby and plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance, it makes an excellent base for both seasoned visitors and first-time tourists. The apartment itself is also a chic place to call home. We love the amount of light in the living area, as well as the character features like arched windows and herringbone floors. Just keep in mind that two guests will sleep on a sofa bed – a worthwhile compromise, given the central location.

The Artful Aria

Tucked away in a quiet courtyard on Rue des Martyrs, this apartment is in the heart of one of Paris’s liveliest streets. Inside, the design is sleek and contemporary, with plenty of closed storage. The main bedroom sits within the open-plan living space, but is partitioned for privacy, with windows to let in natural light. The second bedroom is snug but practical, and there’s also a sofa bed in the living area if you’re a group of six. Note that there are two bathrooms but only one toilet, so some coordination will be needed. Plus you'll need to be comfortable climbing stairs to the first floor, as there's no lift. But with Montmartre just up the road, it’s a great base for exploring the city.

Daily housekeeping will keep on top of the cleaning for you, and a Concierge is downstairs should you need anything – though we doubt you will. A magical place to stay in the heart of Paris, this home is light, fresh and full of pretty details. Recently renovated with a great deal of care (your host lives in this building too, so she's a big fan), it's up on a high floor of this beautiful Haussmannian building. Step inside and you'll find modern, calming shades of white, grey and pink, made all the more sophisticated thanks to a striking herringbone floor and a trio of period windows that look out over the rooftops.

Furnished with stylish, contemporary pieces and a lot of cleverly built-in storage, it's as practical as it is attractive. You'll have a small but perfectly formed kitchen, with everything you'll need for cooking at home, a breakfast bar and a cosy sofa. A room divider separates this living space from the bedroom and there's a desk so you can get some work done in comfort. And we love the marble bathroom with its big Italian shower.

Best of all, this home is in one of our favourite parts of the city. Vibrant and authentic, there are cafes and restaurants right on your doorstep, plus it's just a five-minute walk from Pigalle and ten from the Butte Montmartre.

On the eighth floor of a hotel building, this apartment is high up enough to be out of earshot of the exciting neighbourhood below, as well as high enough to see jaw-dropping views. From your private balcony and huge windows, admire sweeping 270-degree views of the city, including the Eiffel Tower itself. There’s such a vintage Pigalle feel to this home, with mid-century furnishings and a sexy vibe with black decor. Quirky artwork such as a lobster’s skeleton set in glass might sound odd, but everything works in harmony here to create the epitome of bohemian, sophisticated, Parisian chic. After a pain aux raisins and a café au lait, head ten minutes to the Sacré-Cœur, via winding slopes of Montmartre's uniquely artsy streets. Later (after a few cocktails), check out a gig at La Cigale or a show at the Moulin Rouge just two minutes away. And with metro stops all along the street (the closest being a one-minute walk), you don’t even need to stay local. Located in a neighbourhood known for its elegant Belle Epoque buildings, it seems fitting that this 9th Arrondissement flat reflects the decadence of its historic surroundings. This is convenient as this compact studio only has a kitchenette. We think this place is a good alternative to a hotel suite for a couple, solo traveller or business professional.

An eclectic home in the heart of South Pigalle, with a mix of modern and vintage furniture and rustic beams to boot. Although there's quite a climb to get there without any lift, the views out of the six-storey windows, especially the glimpse of the Sacre Coeur are well worth the effort. Our favourite room is the living room, bright and trendy oozing style and character, a lovely spot to hang out after a day's exploration. 



The Slight Escape

Set amongst the vibrant streets between Pigalle and Montmartre in the 9th Arrondissement of Paris is this charming little apartment. Embodying the quiet luxury trend with its elegant mouldings, high ceilings, Versailles parquet and marble finishes, this well-appointed homestay is for those seeking style in a city known for the same. While it can accommodate up to four guests with two on the sofa bed in the living room, we think it may feel a bit snug. That being said, for a small group of friends or a family looking to enjoy all that Paris has to offer, this is a great option with tonnes to see and do right outside your door.
