By Parisian standards, this lofty apartment located in the bustling Montparnasse district is huge. A light-filled treasure, the owners have reworked the original period proportions for seamless, modern living. With vast amounts of space for socialising, this is the place to host a dinner party (your host can help organise a chef, so you can focus on the entertaining). Beyond this luxurious home, you’re just a few steps from the metro station Notre-Dame-des-Champs, and a mere three-minute walk to the Jardin du Luxembourg. You’ll discover authentic brasseries, boulangeries, patisseries, and a farmers’ market all nearby.  And despite this top-notch location, we found the home to be extremely peaceful due to its position on a quiet street. It’s the perfect haven from the non-stop going-ons of central Paris.

It's worth pointing out that the apartment is on the fourth floor and there's no lift, so it may not be suitable for everyone.

One of the major highlights of this home, we’d say, is the stunning views over the rooftops of the Latin Quarter. You can see iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Hôtel National des Invalides. The large, stylish open-plan living space also sleeps two guests on a sofa bed at full occupancy. Location-wise, well, it’s great. The home has an address in the 6th arrondissement, a short walk from Luxembourg Garden. Hôtel National des Invalides is around twenty minutes on foot, and there are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants on your doorstep.

The apartment itself is tucked down a small street, and has everything you might need. There’s a desk in the living room for remote working, and the projector in the bedroom means you can add cosy movie nights to your itinerary. The only downside to this charming apartment is that it’s on the fourth floor with no lift – it won’t be suitable for everyone.

Located in the heart of Paris' Sixth district, overlooking the historic Bon Marché department store, this fantastically unique apartment ticks all the boxes for anyone looking to experience the best of the city.

The interior is a heady mix of modern and retro technology, contemporary design and antique furniture that's put together in a gloriously mismatched way that could look chaotic if done wrong. In this instance, however, everything sits together perfectly, aided by large floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that illuminate every corner of the space. Step through those doors, and you're out onto the spacious balcony with a view of the Eiffel Tower.

With two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, there'll be no queueing for the shower in the morning, while vast windows mean you can snooze with a view. It's worth noting that the second bedroom is more of a multipurpose space than a dedicated bedroom. In here, you'll find a running machine, a piano and a desk for when the office comes calling.

Down at street level, the neighbourhood is an upscale affair. In true Parisian style, there are boulangeries, patisseries, greengrocers, cafes, and restaurants around every corner. You're also located across the street from Bon Marché, among the oldest department stores in the world, and the picturesque Square Boucicaut. Slightly further afield, the heart of St. Germain and Le Jardin du Luxembourg are a ten-minute walk, while the restaurants and cinemas of Montparnasse are no more than twenty minutes on foot.

There are an array of attractions within walking distance of this apartment in Saint Germain including Les Invalides and the Jardin du Luxembourg. Some of Paris's leading museums are accessible on foot too – the Musée Rodin, Musée d'Orsay, the Musée de l'Orangerie and the Louvre to name just a few. With so much to see and do, you’ll be glad of a comfy and stylish home to return to. The living space is light and bright thanks to French doors leading to a Juliet balcony – this room also has a sofa bed for guests seven and eight. We love that each bedroom has an en-suite and two have a desk – perfect for when you need to work while away.

Situated in the Notre-Dame-des-Champs district, you'll be just a short stroll from the famous Jardin du Luxembourg when you stay at this apartment.  There are a variety of shops and restaurants nearby, too, and the Panthéon is also within walking distance. With plenty of room to relax, cook and dine, the bright and airy open-plan living space also sleeps guests three and four on a sofa bed. You'll have everything you need here for a memorable stay in the City of Light.

With its French windows, Juliet balconies, and typically Parisian exterior, this apartment radiates charm. Although it's cramped in places (especially the bedroom), you'll find plenty of amenities to make your stay comfortable. There's a desk for remote working, a fully-equipped (albeit compact) kitchen, and a cosy living area where you can put your feet up after sightseeing. While it's certainly not the brightest or biggest home, you can't fault the location. The Musee d'Orsay, Les Invalides, and Eiffel Tower are nearby, with bars, restaurants, and the metro also within walking distance.

This charming studio apartment is the perfect place to experience authentic Paris. It’s in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, just a short walk from Jardins du Luxembourg, the Seine, and many of Paris’ most loved sights. To visit further-afield attractions, you need only hop on the metro at Saint-Placide, which is four minutes away on foot. The apartment features exposed beams and a mezzanine sleeping area, with two guests on a sofa bed below. We were taken by how light the home is, and how much room there is – for a studio in Paris, it’s practically palatial.

A pocket-sized home with a unique personality, its bold yellow palette and eclectic mix of materials result in a chic space that makes the perfect pied-à-terre for one or two guests. Nestled within the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés but overlooking a quiet courtyard, its location in this buzzing part of town is also practical for visiting many of the sights on foot. Although it doesn't tick the box for spacious or offer in-home entertainment options, its edgy look and ideal location make it a worthy option for those looking for unfussy accommodation.

Voyage of the Beagle

With an address in the sought-after 6th arrondissement, this studio apartment is just over a ten-minute walk from the Luxembourg Garden. Or if you prefer some shopping, Bon Marché is just steps away, and there are plenty of eateries in the area. There’s no oven in this home’s kitchenette, so having restaurants nearby is welcome. This place is compact, but it’s a more homely alternative to a hotel suite for a couple, solo traveller or business professional. All in all, it’s an ideal, comfy base for exploring all that the Latin Quarter has to offer.

The Colour of Autumn

This apartment is the perfect spot for a large group, with two separate apartments in one. There’s plenty of space for both social and private moments, with two living rooms, dining areas and kitchens. With four guests sleeping on sofa beds, we think this pad is better for a short city break, though it’s a great option if you’re seeking flexibility. And while city noise is to be expected here, this central location places you within easy reach of the Eiffel Tower, Hôtel des Invalides and Le Bon Marché.

With its wood floors, large windows and beautiful blush pink sofa, this chic apartment in Paris’ 6th arrondissement has everything you need for a comfortable stay in the city. Minimalist, yet elegant, the decor has been carefully curated to make the open-plan living space feel bright and roomy, perfect for unwinding with a glass of wine after a long day of sightseeing. You’ll love waking up in the stylish bedroom and starting your day off with a soak under the rainfall shower, before heading to the breakfast bar for a coffee and croissant ahead of a day of exploring. When you’re ready to venture outside, you’ve got plenty of Paris’ best sights within easy reach. The beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg is a fifteen-minute walk away, while the famous Paris Catacombs are a twenty-five-minute stroll from your door. The Eiffel Tower is also reachable in thirty minutes on foot, and with the Falguière Metro station a three-minute walk away, you can access all corners of the city with ease.

The ceilings are on the low side so it won't be suited to taller guests, but the interior courtyards on both sides of the home mean you'll get a nice breeze and less noise than in other central spots. While there's no parking outside, we love the location. The area is rich with restaurants and museums, and you'll find the Bon Marché close by for indulging in some retail therapy. For seeing all of Paris's best bits, Vaneau metro station is a five-minute walk away.

Parisian Loveliness

With its classic French elegance and simple charm, this apartment makes the perfect setting for an inspiring city stay. There is plenty of space to relax and unwind across the open plan living room and the bedrooms make it easy to switch off. It’s worth noting there is only one bathroom here, but it’s ideal for families and small groups in search of ease, comfort and a great location. From here, you can stroll to the Jardin du Luxembourg, while Notre-Dame des Champs metro station is just a one-minute walk away.

Monochrome Sleek

A minute's walk from Paris' much-loved Luxembourg Gardens, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more desirable address anywhere in the city. These formal gardens are the largest in the city and attract locals with the promise of chess, tennis, basketball, pony rides, pétanque courts, and even the city's largest puppet theatre – a true haven for families.

In addition to the gardens, there are plenty of quaint cafes and iconic eateries within a short walk. Standout options include Bread & Roses for the best quiche in Paris (just across the road), long-running coffeehouse and celebrity haunt Café de Flore, and iconic brasserie Les Deux Magots – both a ten-minute walk away. 

Step inside the apartment and you'll find the second bedroom and a bathroom on the entrance level, with the majority of the apartment up a flight of stairs. While the downstairs bedroom is fairly classic in design, the first floor is full of little hints about your hosts at every turn, from the leopard print dining chairs to the tiger-striped sofa and the cheetah-spotted throw pillows in the main bedroom, their love of the African savannah is immediately obvious. The rest we'll just leave you to piece together, though we think we spied a ceramic Elvis somewhere on the shelves.

Just over a ten-minute walk from this charming, renovated artist's studio, in a pretty tree-lined 17th century courtyard, in the heart of the Left Bank, takes you to beautiful St-Germain-des-Prés. Its many cafes have been frequented in the past by artists and writers such as Picasso and Hemingway. Down its narrow streets, you'll find stylish boutiques and fine dining restaurants galore. The city's oldest and most iconic department store, Le Bon Marché, with La Grande Épicerie, the largest food hall in Paris, is just a five-minute saunter. Or, have a wander around the stunning Luxembourg Palace, a fifteen-minute stroll away. Back at this cosy home, we love the feel of this bright abode with its stone walls and old wooden beams – it's the perfect Parisian hideaway. On chillier evenings, light the fire, pour a glass of wine or make a brew with the gourmet tea provided and totally unwind. Wake up the following day to a tasty breakfast arranged by your lovely host, if you wish. In fact, there are an array of services available here to help you make the most of your stay, from a private chef to create the ultimate romantic dining experience to restaurant reservations. You could be forgiven for not wanting to leave, despite the delightful neighbourhood on your doorstep. We're very jealous of the lucky person or couple who get the chance to stay longer.

This slightly quirky home is a convenient base in Paris. It’s close to the Mabillon metro station and is within easy walking distance of the Luxembourg Gardens and Notre Dame. You’ll have your pick of restaurants, bars, and theatres nearby, too. There are two living rooms here, one of which houses a sofa bed for two guests – as well as a desk for remote working. A child can also be accommodated in a mezzanine-level single bed, but this won’t be suitable for everyone given the stairs.

Set in Paris’s prestigious 6th arrondissement, this beautifully renovated apartment is the perfect base for soaking up Parisian culture and charm. You're just moments from Saint-Sulpice, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and the Luxembourg Garden. The sleek kitchen feels like your own private cocktail lounge, with modern lighting and bar seating. One bedroom even offers a balcony with a partial Eiffel Tower view. At full capacity, three guests will share the second bedroom, and it's worth noting there's only one bathroom between both rooms. However, the unbeatable location and chic interiors make it totally worth it.

Here we're talking high ceilings, a herringbone floor, a 1920s fireplace and tall French windows with those picture-perfect little wrought-iron balconies you see all over the city. Perfect for opening the home right up to the sights and smells of the historic streets below.

Large windows along the length of the walls and skylights on the sloped ceiling allow plenty of natural light to shine through, while the stone walls and floors create an instant feeling of cottage cosiness. We love how the soft textures of the cowhide rug and colourful cushions contrast with the industrial-looking gas fireplace in the living area, where mid-century modern chairs invite you to sit back with a glass of wine. The comfortable bedroom nook framed by a brick wall offers an endlessly peaceful night’s sleep in this quiet corner of the city, while the New York-style bathroom with its industrial shower is a treat to wake up to each morning. Head out to the courtyard to enjoy a cup of coffee by the fountain and luxuriate in the stillness of your cottage hideaway. Wow was the first word we uttered when we saw the views from the living room of the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, Montparnasse Tower and the West Parisian rooftops. But that was just the start – the large terrace with tables and chairs, as well as a long balcony has incredible vistas of Notre Dame, Église Saint-Sulpice, and Église de Saint Germain des Prés – this place is truly divine. Enjoy some oysters and Champagne here as you take in the breathtaking city panorama. 

Each bedroom has its own private balcony, too, so there's plenty of outdoor space, and with air conditioning, you're guaranteed to keep your cool. Unwind on the blue velvet sofa before heading out to explore this exclusive neighbourhood.

It's a five-minute amble to the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens – perfect for a romantic wander through the rose gardens and orchards. Or soak in the atmosphere at Saint Germain market, just eight minutes on foot. There are plenty of high-end boutiques, boulangeries and stylish eateries right on your doorstep too. 

Alternatively, culture vultures can head to Théâtre du Vieux Colombier, a four-minute stroll or go to the local cinema a twelve-minute saunter away. A couple of attractions you can see from this gorgeous apartment, the Notre Dame and Montparnasse Tower, are both around a twenty-minute walk if you want to take a closer look.

Sitting in a central spot to the south of the Seine, we're sure that you'll be just as smitten with this bright apartment as we are. There's a simply huge amount of natural light from the windows and doors that line the living space and this shines rather nicely off the stark white walls, wooden floor and sleek kitchen surfaces.

While it may not have the Haussmanian period charm of other homes in the French capital, the furnishings and finishes are all contemporary – even a little minimalist so in places – and there are no parts that we can identify as needing some urgent love and attention. There's plenty of room to kick back and relax after some serious sightseeing, while the smartly designed kitchen is plenty big enough should you decide you need a night off the city's famous restaurants.

Whenever you choose to leave the home, you'll be immediately greeted by the building's plant-filled courtyard, which is a pleasing pocket of green in the heart of the metropolis. Beyond that, it's easy to stroll over to some well-known attractions, including the Luxembourg Gardens and Les Invalides.
