Culture buffs should make a beeline for the Louvre or Pompidou Centre – you’re a fifteen-minute walk from both. This apartment combines Parisian-chic with a trendy New York loft vibe (despite being on the ground floor). It fits right in with the neighbourhood, a short walk from Le Marais where indie galleries and niche museums sit alongside romantic bistros in the narrow streets. Wandering the typically Parisian streets around you is a delight, but you can also reach the major sights of the city centre by hopping on the metro at Oberkampf, just down the street.

Inside, exposed stone walls are warming honey-brown and the low wooden sofa has that eclectic artist-in-the-city vibe. Wood panel sliding barn doors and distressed dressed make everything feel upcycled. There are two seating areas in the huge, open living and dining room, separated by the big group dining table. Then the kitchen is tucked away at the back. Both bedrooms are spacious, with exposed brick walls carry on the New York loft theme.

Paris’ 1st arrondissement isn’t number one for just any old reason. Home to the Louvre/Palais-Royal neighbourhood, this is a historically lavish part of the city where you'll find some of the biggest attractions. A four-minute walk from the Palais du Louvre itself, this apartment certainly continues on a majestic theme. Through a courtyard full of lush plants, the entrance to this building has the famous cream-coloured walls of Parisian homes that you’d expect. However, the interiors tell another story. A rich orange sofa welcomes you to the modern living space – with exposed brickwork, a glossy tiled breakfast bar, and a full-length glass partition wall to break up the bedrooms. While frosted windows save your modesty, there’s nothing modest about the decor of the rooms. Find striking floral feature walls, jazzy cushions, gilded mirror frames, and a freestanding tub in one of the en-suites – it’s bourgeois-bohemian at its best. Take a crisp, morning walk to the Jardin des Tuileries after your café au lait (it’s only ten minutes from home). We love that this home overlooks a peaceful inner courtyard too.

Compact and central, what this apartment lacks in size, it makes up for in location. You'll find it in Les Halles, just a stone's throw from the Louvre. This is a perfect spot to explore on foot – shops, restaurants, bars, and landmarks are all just a short walk away. The style back home is smart and contemporary, though the whole place is pretty tiny. It's on the second floor, so you'll need to climb stairs, but we think it's worth it for such a convenient location.

Culture lovers will be happy to know that the Palais Garnier is within walking distance of this apartment on the Rue d'Enghien. This home is also just a short stroll away from the Musée du Chocolat and the chocolate theme continues with this apartment’s cocoa-coloured decor. There are two king-size bedrooms with en-suites here and a comfy sofa bed for guests five and six as well. This sophisticated apartment is wrapped up within a beautiful Haussmann building and it’s the perfect base for a chic Parisian adventure.

Formerly a railway company office, huge, warehouse-style windows fill the place with natural light and the double-height living room is a big open space made for socialising. A mix of pendant lamps and sparkling chandeliers blend industrial-chic with pure Parisian grandeur and we love the quirky touches like graffiti-style art on the wall and a film reel lamp on the coffee table. 

In the open space, you’ll find a dining table for the whole group, a hang-out corner with a sound system and foosball table, and a lounge lined with towering bookshelves. The kitchen is tucked beneath the mezzanine bedrooms and is super sleek in shining chrome. You’re in one of Paris’ artsy and most fashionable neighbourhoods here, packed with trendy bars, bistros and chichi cafés. The building in which this apartment sits was built during Georges-Eugène Haussmann's renovation of the French capital in the nineteenth century, although you will be happy to hear that it's received a lot of love since then. In fact, the space was given a complete makeover in 2020 and you can get a sense of this modernity in every room, from the tiling in the bathrooms and the chevron parquet flooring in the living area, to the tropical design on the kitchen wall. The communal space benefits from two French doors, which let in ample amounts of natural light and lead out onto a small balcony where you can gaze down at Parisian street life below. The central location means that there's plenty to do when you want to explore. The local neighbourhood is teeming with theatres if you fancy catching a show, while Centre Pompidou is only twenty minutes' walk away if you're in an artsy mood.

Designed with style and sophistication, the mint colour scheme is delightful and evokes a calming atmosphere. The kitchen is very well-equipped making hosting a delight, and the dining room is the perfect place for any dinner. There is no air conditioning in this home so it will be hot during the summer. Aside from this, we really can't think of many low points. A lovely base for a comfortable trip.

For a start, the trendy North Marais — or NoMa if you want to impress the locals — is one street to the south, while galleries such as Centre Pompidou and Musée National Picasso-Paris can be reached in twenty minutes on foot.
