The international train station is a twenty-minute stroll away and in the area to find typical bistros, boulangeries and pavement cafés to sample. Getting into the centre of Paris is easy too, with Plaisance metro station a nine-minute walk. Floor to ceiling windows in the apartment’s living room flood the place with natural light and the decor is a delightful medley of brilliant white and pops of cerulean and brass. If you’re not popping to the bakery for a pain au chocolat, the compact kitchen has everything you need to start the day and you can breakfast in the sunny window spot before hitting the city.

This is an attractive home-from-home, ideal for families, friends, or couples, as long as guests three and four don’t mind sleeping on a sofa bed in the living space. The sixth-floor setting means this won’t be suitable for everyone, as there’s no lift – we’d aim to travel light.

Inside, a crisp colour scheme and sleek furniture give the home a modern feel, while the huge windows bring the outside in. The owners are art collectors, so there are plenty of pieces to admire and it's impossible not to feel your stresses melt away when you enter the grand master bathroom, decked out in the finest marble. With so much space, this home is perfect for large family reunion or a group of friends, while corporate groups will be interested to know that it's also available for event hire. And, if you want to get around, Alésia Metro station is just a six minute walk away.

It’s spread over four levels so there are lots of stairs to climb here, but we love the abundance of space, particularly in the loft bedroom which has access to its own private balcony. The home also has a lovely, lived-in feel, decked out in original paintings by your host and boasting plenty of reading material for cosy evenings in. And to top it all off, it’s well served by public transport, so sightseeing is as easy as un, deux, trois.

Designed like an exotic summer house in the countryside, this Parisian apartment is a breath of fresh air amidst the city's hustle. We particularly love the glass conservatory-style roof that invites natural daylight floods through the space. However, the biggest highlight has to be the huge outdoor garden space (on Paris standards) surrounded by greenary.

It's hard to impress us but this modern home, with its designer feel, smashes all our expectations. A beautiful family home in the historic 14th arrondissement, it's a truly unique find that will make you feel right at home  without compromising on Parisian style. We love the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area – a dream room to entertain in that is also ideal for curling up with a novel and glass of red wine. Slide the glass door open and you'll also find a small but perfectly formed outside space perfect for a sundowner after a busy day exploring the city. The surrounding neighbourhood is full of bohemian spirit, with traditional bistros and bustling cafés, with the main sights of Paris just a short Métro ride away.

Nestled away in the 14th arrondissement away from the throngs of tourists in the centre of Paris, this apartment is an excellent option for those travelling to the French capital as part of a larger group.

There's nothing cramped about the space, with plenty of areas in which guests can kick back and relax. On warmer days, the outdoor terrace and patio complete with seating and an alfresco table is sure to see plenty of use, but the beanbags in the lounge and the separate TV area are equally cosy. One thing that we're quite impressed by is the huge kitchen, which has enough room for two, or even three, to cook together at the same time — many hands making light work and all that.

Sticking on this side of the Seine, the Catacombs are just under twenty minutes away on foot if you fancy a subterranean tour of the city, while the leafy pathways of Jardin du Luxembourg take a similar amount of time on the metro if you prefer to stay above-ground.

Located in the heart of the 14th arrondissement, this bright, colourful apartment will make you feel at home from the moment you step inside. Perfect for a small family, it’s worth just noting that the second bedroom with the bespoke, diagonal bunk bed is only suitable for children over the age of nine. Location-wise, you’re in for a treat. Soak up the Parisian lifestyle in the historic Montparnasse district, where a plethora of eateries and bars await, or head to the iconic Catacombs of Paris, a short walk away and well worth a visit.

Enjoy the best of both worlds at this family-friendly pad, offering a shaded garden for relaxing yet located just a stone's throw from the bustle of Vaugirard. While the home sleeps four, two guests will sleep in a bunkbed, which we think is better suited to children. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, but if you’d prefer to put your feet up, your host can arrange for a personal chef to sort dinner for you.

This apartment can be found on a quiet street in Montparnasse. It’s slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of central Paris, but the nearest Metro station is only eight minutes away, so you can easily see the sights. There are shops, bakeries, and restaurants nearby, and you’ll have a well-equipped kitchen to cook in. The apartment is simple in style, a calm space to call home. Two living spaces mean there’s plenty of room for relaxing during the day, though both are equipped with sofa beds and serve as sleeping spaces at night.

This cosy pied-a-terre caught our eye for its best-of-both-worlds location. Situated in a quiet street in the 14th district, there’s a Metro station within easy walking distance, so you can enjoy the buzz of central Paris with a peaceful base to retreat to. While the small space won’t suit everyone, we think it’s a great option for anyone wanting to drop their bags and explore. And when you’re not in the city centre, there’s lots to discover in the local area, with an array of shops, restaurants and parks nearby.

Stepping in to look around at the chic decor, you'll find an abundance of vibrant colours, abstract artwork, comfy seating and green houseplants that make for a modern and breathable interior. Although we could spend all day discovering the boutiques and eateries here, it's extremely well-connected to the rest of the city if you'd like to venture further afield. Secondly, the apartment itself is a real gem. The design combines traditional features with all the modern conveniences you'll need. Space can be a little tight with the sofa bed in use, but there's plenty of room in the main suite and the second bathroom is a nice bonus. If you're after a quintessentially Parisian experience, this is it.

This former shop has been transformed into a cosy sanctuary in the heart of the 14th arrondissement. Drop off your bags and stroll to local cafes, iconic sights and shops. There are great public transport links – ensuring smooth connections with the rest of the city. Plus, you’ll find all the essentials you could need to settle in and make this home your own. There’s a cinema room in the basement for magical movie nights, while the living room and bedrooms make it easy to switch off and unwind.

Rustic yet regal, this is the kind of pied a terre that only Paris can pull off. On the banks of the Seine, it’s just across the river from Île de la Cité with Notre Dame in one direction (a fifteen-minute walk away) and The Louvre in the other (a ten-minute walk). Despite its city-centre location, the decor is distinctly provincial with wood-beamed ceilings painted sunflower yellow and hand-cut tiles in the bathroom from the south of France. A mural depicting medieval France sits behind the country-style dining table and the walls are adorned with equine paintings. In the buzzing heart of Paris, this place is a little slice of provincial life and a soothing place to return to after a day of sightseeing.

There are an array of attractions within walking distance of this apartment in Saint Germain including Les Invalides and the Jardin du Luxembourg. One of Paris' most famous landmarks is your neighbour at this central apartment. Notre Dame is only a short walk away, but next door is the Church of Saint-Séverin. It may not be as iconic as its neighbour but it’s just as beautiful – and you'll be treated to panoramas of the gothic architecture from the living room windows. View aside, we love the space on offer here, even if the second bedroom is a tad snug and two guests will sleep on a sofa bed. The contemporary finishes are a nice touch, too. There's a soaker bath, a sleek kitchen, and even air conditioning – no wonder it caught our eye.

This ground-floor apartment has been refurbished recently and mixes period features like high ceilings with modern minimalism, a sleek white kitchen and a touch of industrial styling. Comfortable, bright and surprisingly private, it's a real retreat away from the bustling city streets.

Step outside each morning and grab a coffee and croissant as you stroll along the Seine – it's just a six-minute walk to take in the impressive view of Notre Dame, currently being restored. Close to the buzzing Latin Quarter, there's no shortage of great places to eat, drink and shop, and most of the city's big attractions are within walking distance.

We adored the large windows and their quintessential Juliet balconies – although there's nowhere to sit on them, you can still throw open the French doors and watch the city pass by on the streets below. The kitchen is a little tiny – we think it's better suited towards light meals and smaller bites – and there's only one bathroom, but otherwise, this fantastically-placed pad is a great option for small groups or families wanting a typical Paris getaway.
