One of Paris' most famous landmarks is your neighbour at this central apartment. Notre Dame is only a short walk away, but next door is the Church of Saint-Séverin. It may not be as iconic as its neighbour but it’s just as beautiful – and you'll be treated to panoramas of the gothic architecture from the living room windows. View aside, we love the space on offer here, even if the second bedroom is a tad snug and two guests will sleep on a sofa bed. The contemporary finishes are a nice touch, too. There's a soaker bath, a sleek kitchen, and even air conditioning – no wonder it caught our eye.

Take in the views over Paris’s Archives Museum from this apartment’s large windows. We love that a lot of thought has gone into the decor here, too. Just a couple of things to note – at full capacity, two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room. Also, both bedrooms are street-facing, so you may hear a bit of noise here. Otherwise, this is a great choice for friends or a family looking to take advantage of this home’s great location. It’s in Le Marais, so you’ll have access to stylish shops, restaurants, and art galleries.

The apartment itself is in a handsome Haussmann building of big windows and wrought-iron balconies. Stepping inside feels like stepping into one of the chichi galleries of Le Marais as big, bold contemporary artworks adorn the white walls in high-ceiling rooms. The French windows in the living room look out over an internal courtyard, so it’s blissfully quiet – perfect if you want to curl up on the velvet sofa with a book from the mini-library. The kitchen is all sleek modernism, with a quartz island and sunny breakfast table for a morning coffee and croissant.

Rustle up a croque madame in the brass-fitted kitchen to enjoy around the industrial-chic dining table. And with so much to see and do around here, ensure you save time for a little afternoon nap – the moody master bedroom makes for an ideal spot to get some rest. With ethnic ornaments and dramatic lighting, we really loved both rooms. Plus, there's the glamorous black-tiled bathroom that's perfect for getting all dressed up before heading out. You'll find the surrounding area full of life with playful Parisians frequenting an array of hip cocktail bars and luxury boutiques. Plunge into the spirit of Marais by looking around the local art galleries or even walking to Notre Dame Cathedral – it's under twenty minutes away.

In an art nouveau building located in the latin quarter, you can find this light and bright home that ticks every box. The large windows are luminous, drenching each room in light, as well as offering stunning views of the Eiffel tower. Decorated in a Scandi-style, the rooms are minimal and pared-back, yet cosy and warm – a delight after a day's exploration. The kitchen is well-equipped, ideal to cook up a storm, but there's only a small counter to enjoy dinner at, so a better choice for those who want to eat out.

Sprawling across three floors with a quaint courtyard, there's something truly relaxing about this hidden-away home. Although the distribution with a bedroom in the basement may not be to everyone's taste, the conservatory-style kitchen is the jewel in this home's crown - large enough to both cook and entertain.

With Notre Dame in one direction and the Louvre in the other, you won't find a location in Paris better than this. Housed in a listed building dating back to 1860, the apartment's original features are impressive, though as you'd expect with a home of this heritage, there are a few quirks. Two bedrooms are adjoined with a glass door partition – great for a small family sharing, but it won't suit everyone. It's also worth noting the last two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the lounge. But we're happy to let that slide for such a stylish, elegant home with a knockout location.

Set within a calm courtyard in the heart of Le Marais, this flat is an oasis of serenity within the buzz of central Paris. We love the exposed ceiling beams and the floating stairs that lead up to the mezzanine bedroom. Cocooned within a wrought-iron frame, this comfortable space feels rustic and warm in contrast to the contemporary decor of the ground level main room. The bold blue sofa beckons to be relaxed in, while the dining nook invites slow breakfasts over chats about the day ahead’s activities. Speaking of things to do, you couldn’t be better placed to see Paris’ main sights. You’re just a ten-minute walk from Notre-Dame and a fifteen-minute stroll from the Louvre and Place des Vosges. The Centre Pompidou is also just around the corner, three minutes away on foot. After a day of exploring, come back home for a glass of wine in the shared courtyard before dining out at one of the neighbourhood’s stellar restaurants. Alternatively, cosy up in your chic pad for an intimate meal at home, serenaded by Edith Piaf on the Bose sound system, of course.

An art lover’s paradise – this home is situated a four-minute stroll from the Pompidou Centre, while the Musée National Picasso-Paris is ten minutes on foot. If you’re more of a poetry fan, then head to Musée Victor Hugo, once the home of the Romantic movement poet, novelist and playwright, a fifteen-minute saunter away. Or, sample the stylish bars and restaurants, as well as hip galleries and boutiques on your doorstep in this Le Marais location. The iconic Notre Dame, on the other hand, is under a twenty-minute walk. 

Back at this stylish home, take a seat on the enclosed patio and enjoy a glass of French rosé wine. This place is a lovely mix of modern and character features – think old wood beams, chandeliers, contemporary artwork and ghost chairs, for example. After cooking some moules marinière in the monochrome kitchen, retire to the library or relax on the comfy sofa. We were surprised by how quiet this home was, given its fabulous location.

This apartment combines Parisian-chic with a trendy New York loft vibe (despite being on the ground floor). It fits right in with the neighbourhood, a short walk from Le Marais where indie galleries and niche museums sit alongside romantic bistros in the narrow streets. Wandering the typically Parisian streets around you is a delight, but you can also reach the major sights of the city centre by hopping on the metro at Oberkampf, just down the street.

Inside, exposed stone walls are warming honey-brown and the low wooden sofa has that eclectic artist-in-the-city vibe. Wood panel sliding barn doors and distressed dressed make everything feel upcycled. There are two seating areas in the huge, open living and dining room, separated by the big group dining table. Then the kitchen is tucked away at the back. Both bedrooms are spacious, with exposed brick walls carry on the New York loft theme.

Housed in a beautiful 19th-century stone building in Paris’ vibrant Marais district, this wonderfully bright apartment is brimming with style thanks to its charming retro look. Kitted out in vintage decor mainly from the 40s and 50s, there’s a cool sophisticated vibe here that feels perfectly Parisian. Kick back on the mid-century-modern armchair with one of the architectural books from the shelves or enjoy an espresso – made with the kitchen’s machine – and locally bought croissants at the chic dining table. We recommend enjoying a glass of French wine by the Juliet balcony, however, and basking in the glorious sixth-floor views over the city’s rooftops at sunset. The bedroom, meanwhile, is elegantly pared back with a comfortable bed (as well as a choice between two types of pillows) as well as stunning views over Saint-Paul Saint-Louis Church in the distance. Factor in the deliciously pink tiled bathroom with its sunken tub – ideal for finishing the night off with a glass of bubbly after an afternoon of walking – and you’re all set for a relaxing stay. Outside of your home, the Marais’ colourful streets beckon with their trendy shops and cosy cafés, elegant ​​Place des Vosges is a three-minute walk and Notre Dame is twenty minutes away on foot.

If you’re looking for a luxurious apartment to stay in with family or friends, then this place could be ideal. Located in a prestigious building, the large living and dining space has some beautiful character features (this room also accommodates guests ten and eleven on a sofa bed). Three of the bedrooms are en-suite and we particularly love the one with the freestanding bath. This home’s address is great too – it’s just a short walk from the Louvre Museum and the Palais Royal.

Once home to an old hairdressing salon, this loft is jam-packed with history and quintessential Parisian charm. Located in the heart of the bustling Latin quarter, you'll be in the thick of it all here - and Notre Dame is just 250 metres away. Follow the banks of the beautiful River Seine and not only will you wind up at the Musée d'Orsay but you can't miss the iconic Musée du Louvre and its neighbouring Tuileries Gardens – all within fifteen minutes walking distance from your Latin Quarter abode. Back at the home itself prepare to feel energised by the fresh interiors featuring tasteful pops of colour seen in the orange sofa, and vibrant artwork dotted throughout. We particularly love the retro-modern and Scandinavian style furnishings here as the vibe is kept calm whilst remaining fun at the same time. Gather in the living room and turn on a French electro-pop playlist to liven up the mood – you're on holiday after all. With jazz clubs galore in this neighbourhood, put your dancing shoes on and head out for a night on the town. Even though la discoteque and an array of lively bars await just five minutes away, you surprisingly won't hear much noise back at home (with the windows closed), so you're bound to get that much needed good night's sleep after giving all your energy to the city of lights.

Located in the heart of the fashionable Marais district, staying here provides you with an opportunity to experience the French capital the way the locals do. Inside, the large exterior windows provide it with a loft-like atmosphere despite the fact it's not an open-plan space. Usually an apartment like this might be a little dark, but the designers of this particular unit have overcome that issue by adding plenty of interior windows that allows natural light into the farthest reaches of the apartment. The spacious living room has plenty of comfy seating, with lovely black and white photos mounted on the walls, while the bedrooms continue the theme to create a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding at the end of a day exploring the streets of Paris. Though there are a massive number of enticing restaurants on your doorstep, the compact kitchen is more than capable of rustling up delicious homemade dinners. Step out onto the winding cobblestone streets and familiarise yourself with some of the best dining and shopping in the city, as you meander through Le Marais. Elsewhere, you're a thirty-minute walk from the world-famous Louvre Museum, or twenty minutes on the metro. Alternatively, Saint-Sébastien – Froissart metro is right outside and you can be gazing up at the Eiffel Tower in around half an hour.

You’ll be wowed by the gallery-style collection of art and photographs on display, especially the mosaic of the homeowner's photography that takes centre stage in the dining room. From the sleek metallic kitchen (stocked with an entire drawer dedicated to tea and coffee) to the living room’s chic desk space and the luminous bedroom, there’s a feeling of both comfort and extraordinary style in equal, stunning measure. Our favourite feature, without a doubt, is the private leafy terrace. As it’s heated, you can spend peaceful mornings here with a good book and a cup of coffee or evening drinks as the sun sets, at any time of year. While we wouldn’t blame you for wanting to stay holed up in your arty haven, go out and explore the nearby sights – of which there are many. Explore the trendy Marais district with its vintage shops and cute cafes (a twenty-minute walk), enjoy a picnic in elegant Place des Vosges (a thirteen-minute walk) or discover the quiet beauty of Père Lachaise Cemetery, a twenty-minute stroll from your door.

In hip Oberkampf, this apartment makes a fuss-free base for your Parisian escape. On the whole, the design is a little simple, but it's comfortable and well-suited to relaxing. There's a desk in the bedroom if remote working is on the cards, while a sofa bed could accommodate guests three and four at a squeeze. The kitchen is compact, but this neighbourhood is known for its cool bistros and trendy bars, so we reckon dining out will be the best option. You're also a short walk from a metro station, connecting you with ease to the rest of the city.

Oberkampf Oasis

Known for its vital role in the French Revolution, Bastille and the surrounding neighbourhood has plenty to offer, even if you're not keen on history. From lively jazz bars and the Opéra Bastille to bohemian boutiques and Marché d'Aligre, this pocket of Paris has something for everyone. And it's where you'll find this stylish apartment, just a five-minute walk from the July Column, twenty from Notre Dame and surrounded by a slew of chic cafes, trendy wine bars and delicious eateries.

Come home after a long day and sprawl out on the sofa, nibbling on French cheese, fresh-baked bread and sharing a bottle of wine picked up from the market. We love the exposed brick in the kitchen, the skylights in the bathroom and the soft, modern furnishings. The style is minimal, the living space bright, and the bedroom super comfortable. This flat may be on the smaller side, but we think it'll do nicely for solo travellers and couples wanting to stay in the centre of the action.

Music lovers will adore this home's location – it's just a three-minute walk to Opéra Bastille and a minute more to Place de la Bastille. Or take a stroll along the Canal Saint-Martin to Port de l'Arsenal Garden (two minutes on foot). Alternatively, the beautiful Place des Vosges, the oldest planned square in Paris, is a ten-minute walk. Of course, there are plenty of stylish eateries on your doorstep to enjoy too.

Back at this apartment, if you don't fancy eating out, rustle up some salmon en papillote in the sleek kitchen. Then, take in the wonderful views over the Bastille and the Canal Saint-Martin from this home's large balcony – it's the perfect spot for a glass of Champagne. You can admire the vistas from the elegant living room too – we love this light and bright room with its French doors. This place really sings.

A picture-perfect location, this one-bedroom apartment over two floors is situated on Paris' coveted Île Saint Louis in a 16th-century building.  Suited to a couple after a quiet home in a central location, Île Saint Louis is a village in the capital with quaint bistros and cafés, grocers and niche art galleries - and there are no buses or tube stations. Just below the apartment is a delicious bakery that could come in handy for fresh croissants - be sure to enjoy them on the rooftop terrace overlooking Parisian rooftops and Notre Dame's bell tower.

In Bas Marais, just a two-minute walk from the Saint-Paul metro station, welcome to the neighbourhood of Notre Dame and Le Village Saint-Paul. From baroque churches and antique stores, to boutique shopping and hip restaurants, this is a delightfully diverse area of the 3rd arrondissement. Through a grand, art deco-style doorway on a quiet street, this flat has every typical Parisian element you might come to expect. The wrought-iron balcony of the French windows, the elegance of the original fireplace, and the writer’s desk in the bedroom. The huge open-plan living area is bright and breezy, with understated decor which has a certain old-world charm. But you can stroll nine minutes to the Centre Pompidou if you’re looking for a contrast to your historic surroundings. This inside-out design building is certainly different from the grandeur of Notre Dame, just twelve minutes away. Continue on with some non-traditional art at the Musée Picasso, only eight minutes from your front door. Take the long way home, through the winding streets of creative Le Marais, to stop in at a few cocktail bars en route. With its rich, cultural history, we reckon it's the best area for inspiration to get started on that novel at the writer’s desk when you get back.

You couldn't hope for a more authentic spot to experience the magic of Paris.

There’s also easy access to the Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, while the iconic fountain of Saint-Michel is just a short walk away. 

Toujours Paris 

Close to buzzing Le Marais, this apartment is well-placed to explore Paris. The famous Bastille is within easy reach, while the metro is nearby when you're keen to see more of the city. Design-wise, the interiors take inspiration from India, with nods ranging from elephant curios to scenic wallpaper. The open-plan living area is the essence of chic, and though two guests will sleep on a sofa bed, we don't think you'll be short on space.

The Wooden Elephant

Perfect for art lovers, this apartment is just a short stroll from the Pompidou Centre and the Picasso Museum. Located in the quintessential Parisian district of Le Marais, you’ll be surrounded by cobblestone streets and pavement cafes. We love the mix of old and new in this home, as well as the large windows which really light up the space. With a choice of dining areas – a breakfast bar for sociable snacks and three adjoining bistro tables for group mealtimes – even at full occupancy (with guests five and six sleeping on the sofa bed) there’s room for everyone.


Art of Living

Trash Compactor

This luminous apartment in Le Marais is perfect for couples. Considered one of the city's most desirable neighbourhoods, this area boasts trendy cafes, fashionable boutiques, and upscale restaurants – and they're all just a short stroll from your door. French windows flood the living space with light and offer views of the medieval church across the road. Your host has a selection of books to choose from, and the kitchen is well-suited to rustling up meals using produce from the local market. There may not be a lift to the fourth floor, but factor in the proximity to a metro station (a three-minute walk) and it's no surprise that this gem caught our eye.

Marais Lumière

Right in the heart of the beautiful Marais, this family home is both cosy and spacious. Set in a typical period building, it has a classic look with tall ceilings, big windows that open up completely to reveal wrought-iron rails and chic furniture with a rustic – almost farmhouse – twist. We love the natural light that floods the rooms. There's a modern kitchen and a pretty dining table if you're cooking at home but we think you'll be exploring the array of great eateries nearby most evenings. Each bedroom has a dedicated bathroom so there won't be any queueing for the shower in the mornings, and it's easy to get around the city with two metro stations around the corner. Or else head out on foot and walk to the Louvre in less than half an hour.

The Cottage

This pretty-as-a-picture apartment will help you feel right at home in Paris. The building was completed in 1860 and there are plenty of reminders of its history, from the high ceilings and parquet floors to the ornately carved fireplace and tall windows. That's not to say it's without modern comforts though – you'll love the sleek kitchen, luxurious marble bathrooms and workspace where you can catch up on emails while working remotely. 

Our favourite spot is the balcony, where you can sit and enjoy croissants with coffee for breakfast while watching the city come to life below. Down on the street level, you'll find many of Paris' top attractions are right on your doorstep. The Louvre is just a five-minute stroll away, while a ten-minute walk will take you to the Notre Dame. There are plenty of brasseries and jazz bars to discover nearby and, thanks to the excellent public transport links, you can visit other parts of the city with ease.
