It's not the biggest in terms of space, especially with the sofa bed in use, but we think it's perfectly functional for smaller groups. In the heart of Faubourg Saint-Antoine, you're a short walk from the Bastille and Place de la Nation, while nearby metro stations connect you to the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower. Although snug, this home benefits from vibrant splashes of colour and lots of light – open the French doors for street views. Plus, if attic living starts to feel cramped, walk to Jardin des Plantes or Père Lachaise Cemetery to get some fresh air. This is a comfortable place to call home during a city break, with a well-equipped kitchen and an attractive open-plan living and dining area. Guests three and four will sleep on a sofa bed here, so if you’re hoping for more space and privacy, we’d stick to a guest count of two.

This bohemian home is ideal for a cat-loving family or group of friends who want to stay in a creative part of town with two feline companions. Just a five-minute walk to Le Marais with its cool bars and restaurants, this home is ideal for wandering through Paris on foot, or get around on the two bicycles provided. There's plenty to see under a ten-minute stroll away, such as the Pompidou Centre and the Musée National Picasso-Paris. We recommend visiting Bastille Market to pick up ingredients for dinner – it's one of the largest fruit and veg markets in Paris – but we wouldn't be surprised if you forego cooking to sample the many restaurants of Le Marais. You're well connected to public transport, too – it's just a 10-minute ride to the Louvre.
