This apartment combines Parisian-chic with a trendy New York loft vibe (despite being on the ground floor). It fits right in with the neighbourhood, a short walk from Le Marais where indie galleries and niche museums sit alongside romantic bistros in the narrow streets. Wandering the typically Parisian streets around you is a delight, but you can also reach the major sights of the city centre by hopping on the metro at Oberkampf, just down the street.

Inside, exposed stone walls are warming honey-brown and the low wooden sofa has that eclectic artist-in-the-city vibe. Wood panel sliding barn doors and distressed dressed make everything feel upcycled. There are two seating areas in the huge, open living and dining room, separated by the big group dining table. Then the kitchen is tucked away at the back. Both bedrooms are spacious, with exposed brick walls carry on the New York loft theme.

There's plenty to see under a ten-minute stroll away, such as the Pompidou Centre and the Musée National Picasso-Paris. The apartment itself face a quiet internal courtyard and has oodles of exotic artwork and sculptures, while the exposed wooden beams lend a warehouse vibe. The highlight, though, is the outdoor space with its shaded deck, a real bonus for this part of central Paris – it's perfect for a morning coffee or a glass of wine with lunch.

It benefits from the perks of a lived-in home, with an equipped kitchen for enthusiastic home cooks and a balcony where you can have a coffee in the sun. This ground-floor apartment has been refurbished recently and mixes period features like high ceilings with modern minimalism, a sleek white kitchen and a touch of industrial styling. Comfortable, bright and surprisingly private, it's a real retreat away from the bustling city streets.

Step outside each morning and grab a coffee and croissant as you stroll along the Seine – it's just a six-minute walk to take in the impressive view of Notre Dame, currently being restored. Close to the buzzing Latin Quarter, there's no shortage of great places to eat, drink and shop, and most of the city's big attractions are within walking distance.
