A twenty-minute walk from the Montparnasse tower, this is a more urban part of the city, with a facade to match. Square balconies jut out from the front of the building, and a range of tiles adorn the walls up to the entrance. Inside, the decor continues on a sixties vibe, with a banquette dining area, wood-panelled feature wall, and mid-century furniture creating a coffee area in the lounge. In the bedrooms it’s a similar story, with funky patterned feature walls behind the headboards. While it might not be the sort of Parisian apartment you’d come to expect, we think anyone can fall in love with the bright, colourful, and playful feel of this home. While its vintage character is as charming as the local area, you can venture out further via the Montparnasse metro, fifteen minutes away.

We should probably mention right off the bat that this apartment in a former printing house is one of the smaller homes in our collection. However, we think it makes the grade thanks to the stylish design and the high standard of the amenities.

The main living space benefits from a huge floor-to-ceiling window on the far side that bathes the interior in natural light and this asset is emphasised by the cleansingly white walls. Even though the floor space is limited, neither the dining table, sofa nor desk feel cramped, which is often the case in studio apartments. 

Add to that, a sleek kitchen with enough room to rustle up basic dinners and a chic monochrome bathroom, and you've got an address in which you can quite easily feel at home.

The surrounding 15th arrondissement is a little more residential than some of the more touristy parts of Paris but you'll still find cinemas, gourmet shops and a local produce market three times a week. The apartment is particularly handy if you're visiting the Porte de Versailles convention centre, which is only fifteen minutes' walk away.

It's a fantastic base if sightseeing is at the top of your to-do list – the most famous landmark of them all, the Eiffel Tower, is easily reached on foot. You can even glimpse the top of it from the private balcony – there may not be anywhere to sit, but the street views are quintessentially Parisian. Inside, the kitchen is compact, and you'll have to do most of your unwinding around the table since there's not a lot of space on the sofa. Félix Faure and Boucicaut metro stations are both close, so seeing the sights of Paris is as easy as can be.

The surrounding neighbourhood is calm but you’re very close to some lively streets, where you can find shopping, cultural places and green spaces. It's also served by great public transport so you can get to the centre no problem. The home is clean and well-equipped with plenty of space for two guests. Bold stripes adorn the bedhead and sofa to create a stand-out look in an otherwise simple space. We love the amazing balcony with views of the Parisian rooftops. A great base a little off the beaten track.

Restaurants, shops and the Seine are all a short walk away, but when you can zip to the Concorde and the Champs-Elysées in twenty minutes and the Effiel Tower in thirty via the metro, you'll have plenty of options for sightseeing. After a busy day exploring, pour yourself a glass of French wine, kick off your shoes and sprawl out on the cushy L-shaped sofa.
