Live like a 1930s Parisian movie star in this chic, monochrome apartment. The sleek grey, black and white motif is as though someone has applied and black and white filter to the apartment. And there’s a sense of grandeur too with floor to ceiling French windows swathed with thick curtains and a chandelier above the dining table. The kitchen is pure modernity and there’s a little selection of guidebooks and cookbooks in the wall press, adding a homely touch. But the best thing about this apartment is the location. In the second Arrondissement, near the Gare de L’est and Gare du Nord, the streets around the apartment are home to boulangeries for morning croissants, and plenty of Parisian bistros and restaurants in the leafy boulevards. If you want to get out and explore the likes of The Louvre and Notre Dame, it’s a leisurely walk into the centre, or an easy hop on the metro from Strasbourg Saint-Denis, which is a minutes’ walk away.

Back at this serviced apartment, the decor is elegant, especially in the open-plan living space (this room also sleeps guests five and six on a sofa bed). This home is an exceptional place to stay in the City of Light.

Although the location is great, we’ll start with the apartment itself – you can see why with views like this. The vistas from the balcony over the Eiffel Tower, River Seine and the Quai des Orfèvres are fantastic. The open-plan living room and main bedroom have a wonderful outlook too. Now about the location – the home is situated on the exclusive Île de la Cité, so there are plenty of riverside strolls to be had. The nearby iconic Notre-Dame de Paris is also a short walk away, while across the Pont Neuf, you’ll find the Louvre Museum.

This pretty-as-a-picture apartment will help you feel right at home in Paris. The building was completed in 1860 and there are plenty of reminders of its history, from the high ceilings and parquet floors to the ornately carved fireplace and tall windows. That's not to say it's without modern comforts though – you'll love the sleek kitchen, luxurious marble bathrooms and workspace where you can catch up on emails while working remotely. 

Our favourite spot is the balcony, where you can sit and enjoy croissants with coffee for breakfast while watching the city come to life below. Down on the street level, you'll find many of Paris' top attractions are right on your doorstep. The Louvre is just a five-minute stroll away, while a ten-minute walk will take you to the Notre Dame. There are plenty of brasseries and jazz bars to discover nearby and, thanks to the excellent public transport links, you can visit other parts of the city with ease.

This modern apartment is located in the heart of Paris, close to La Madeleine and Jardin des Tuileries. You’ll also be a short walk from Palais Garnier and Place de la Concorde, so you’ll be in the thick of things. Easy transport links make seeing the rest of the sights a breeze – convenience is key when it comes to city breaks. The apartment is attractive and has everything you might need for a comfortable stay – though it’s worth pointing out that at full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living space.

This home has all the modernity and style we’ve come to expect from a city loft. Formerly a railway company office, huge, warehouse-style windows fill the place with natural light and the double-height living room is a big open space made for socialising. A mix of pendant lamps and sparkling chandeliers blend industrial-chic with pure Parisian grandeur and we love the quirky touches like graffiti-style art on the wall and a film reel lamp on the coffee table. 

In the open space, you’ll find a dining table for the whole group, a hang-out corner with a sound system and foosball table, and a lounge lined with towering bookshelves. The kitchen is tucked beneath the mezzanine bedrooms and is super sleek in shining chrome. You’re in one of Paris’ artsy and most fashionable neighbourhoods here, packed with trendy bars, bistros and chichi cafés. It’s also only a fifteen-minute walk from the Gare du Nord if you’re arriving by Eurostar, while the Louvre and the Palais Garnier are both less than fifteen minutes away on the metro.

Set across two levels, the rooms are an art lovers dream. Both bedrooms have access to a private bathroom and there is the handy addition of a sofa bed in the living area.

This apartment’s address is great – it’s a short walk from the Musée des Arts et Métiers and the Centre Pompidou. Other places of interest within walking distance include the Louvre Museum and Palais Royal. Back at this apartment, we love the views from the open-plan living room’s balcony of the typically Parisian architecture. This room also sleeps guests three and four on a comfy sofa bed. Another bonus of staying here is there's free access to a shared gym too – this place is ideal for business and leisure travellers alike.

This eclectic home is full of colour. Spread over five floors, it’s an excellent base for a large group – there’s a boldly bright open-plan living and dining space as well as a relaxation area with a Jacuzzi and a home movie setup. At full occupancy, four guests will sleep on sofa beds in the living space. You’ll be in central Paris, in the 2nd arrondissement, just a short walk from the theatres, cinemas, museums, and shops of Les Halles. It’s on a quiet street but there are excellent restaurants nearby. 

Candy Colours

In the heart of Paris, off the prestigious Rue de Richelieu stands the Lordly Rams, a beautiful home ideal for any plum guest. Designed with style and sophistication, the mint colour scheme is delightful and evokes a calming atmosphere. The kitchen is very well-equipped making hosting a delight, and the dining room is the perfect place for any dinner. There is no air conditioning in this home so it will be hot during the summer. Aside from this, we really can't think of many low points. A lovely base for a comfortable trip. 

The Lordly Rams

Sitting between Gare Saint-Lazare and the magnificent Opéra Garnier, this bright apartment puts you in a wonderfully central spot from which to explore the City of Light’s most illustrious sights. 

Occupying the top floor with skylights allowing in plenty of natural light, you’ll love the charming beamed ceilings and contemporary decor here that perfectly blends old and new. Soft shades of blue add to the overall feeling of calm in this sixth-floor abode, with comfortable bedrooms boasting en-suite marble-clad bathrooms equipped with rainfall showers. 

When you’re not kicking back on the sofa with a glass of French wine or feasting on breakfasts of fresh coffee and croissants at the table, spend your time exploring your neighbourhood and the wider city, with countless sights within easy reach. Shop along the Champs-Élysées, visit the Arc de Triomphe and admire the masterpieces housed in the famous Louvre Museum.

A couple of things to note, there’s no lift and there are a few steps up from the living room to the kitchen. All in all, this apartment is ideal for couples, families or business colleagues seeking an exceptional location.

Speaking of exploring, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to cultural hotspots nearby. Both Notre Dame and the Louve are a thirteen-minute walk, the romantic Pont des Arts is a seventeen-minute stroll and the Île Saint-Louis is fifteen minutes away on foot. You’re also a twenty-three-minute walk from the Canal Saint-Martin and its waterside cafés, while the Musée National Picasso-Paris is fourteen minutes on foot from your door.

It's a great base if sightseeing is at the top of your to-do list – the Louvre, Palais-Royal, and Opera Garnier are all within strolling distance. We love the bright and sophisticated decor back home. Expect sleek bathrooms (though one lacks a toilet), comfortable bedrooms, and an open-plan living area that encourages you to unwind in style. The kitchen is a tad snug, but there are plenty of places nearby to grab a coffee and a bite to eat.
