Although the location is great, we’ll start with the apartment itself – you can see why with views like this. The vistas from the balcony over the Eiffel Tower, River Seine and the Quai des Orfèvres are fantastic. The open-plan living room and main bedroom have a wonderful outlook too. Now about the location – the home is situated on the exclusive Île de la Cité, so there are plenty of riverside strolls to be had. The nearby iconic Notre-Dame de Paris is also a short walk away, while across the Pont Neuf, you’ll find the Louvre Museum.

This pretty-as-a-picture apartment will help you feel right at home in Paris. The building was completed in 1860 and there are plenty of reminders of its history, from the high ceilings and parquet floors to the ornately carved fireplace and tall windows. That's not to say it's without modern comforts though – you'll love the sleek kitchen, luxurious marble bathrooms and workspace where you can catch up on emails while working remotely. 

Our favourite spot is the balcony, where you can sit and enjoy croissants with coffee for breakfast while watching the city come to life below. Down on the street level, you'll find many of Paris' top attractions are right on your doorstep. The Louvre is just a five-minute stroll away, while a ten-minute walk will take you to the Notre Dame. There are plenty of brasseries and jazz bars to discover nearby and, thanks to the excellent public transport links, you can visit other parts of the city with ease.

The apartment itself is in a handsome Haussmann building of big windows and wrought-iron balconies. Stepping inside feels like stepping into one of the chichi galleries of Le Marais as big, bold contemporary artworks adorn the white walls in high-ceiling rooms. The French windows in the living room look out over an internal courtyard, so it’s blissfully quiet – perfect if you want to curl up on the velvet sofa with a book from the mini-library. We can't get enough of this apartment. It's not the biggest, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in style. Both bedrooms are elegant and comfortable, while the living area makes unwinding after a busy day a breeze. There's a sofa bed for two, but we think a group of four is best if you'd like space to socialise. Location-wise, you couldn't ask for better. With Parisian landmarks like Palais Garnier and Galeries Lafayette an easy walk away and the metro moments from your door, you'll be well situated here to explore the City of Lights.

Situated between the eclectic 2nd and elegant 9th arrondissements, this well-connected apartment is a peaceful sanctuary above the treetops. The former jewellery factory has been expertly renovated by architect Vincent Parreira, combining flowing lines with angular geometry and paying particular attention to the use of light that streams in through walls and ceilings made entirely of glass. Mirrored surfaces, interior windows and translucent sheer fabrics illuminate and transform the space throughout the course of the day. Then comes the view. We’d argue it’s the best in the city, you can see right over Paris with glimpses of the Sacré Coeur in the distance. Settle in with a bottle of red and a platter of cheese at twilight to watch the sky swirl in violet and orange; the dome of the neighbouring Palais Garnier glowing triumphantly once night eventually falls. Should you be able to spare a minute from the spectacular panoramas, you’ll find the Opéra metro station a two-minute amble east from your doorstep and the magnificent Louvre a ten-minute walk away.

Located across an entire floor of a historic building, this apartment was the Parisian residence of a French aristocratic family until the early 20th century. It is also the neighbouring apartment of the residence where Napoleon once lived upon his arrival in Paris in 1795. It's a great base if sightseeing is at the top of your to-do list – the Louvre, Palais-Royal, and Opera Garnier are all within strolling distance. The kitchen is a tad snug, but there are plenty of places nearby to grab a coffee and a bite to eat.

Home to the Louvre/Palais-Royal neighbourhood, this is a historically lavish part of the city where you'll find some of the biggest attractions. A four-minute walk from the Palais du Louvre itself, this apartment certainly continues on a majestic theme. Through a courtyard full of lush plants, the entrance to this building has the famous cream-coloured walls of Parisian homes that you’d expect. However, the interiors tell another story. A rich orange sofa welcomes you to the modern living space – with exposed brickwork, a glossy tiled breakfast bar, and a full-length glass partition wall to break up the bedrooms. While frosted windows save your modesty, there’s nothing modest about the decor of the rooms. Find striking floral feature walls, jazzy cushions, gilded mirror frames, and a freestanding tub in one of the en-suites – it’s bourgeois-bohemian at its best. Take a crisp, morning walk to the Jardin des Tuileries after your café au lait (it’s only ten minutes from home). The building in which this apartment sits was built during Georges-Eugène Haussmann's renovation of the French capital in the nineteenth century, although you will be happy to hear that it's received a lot of love since then. In fact, the space was given a complete makeover in 2020 and you can get a sense of this modernity in every room, from the tiling in the bathrooms and the chevron parquet flooring in the living area, to the tropical design on the kitchen wall. The communal space benefits from two French doors, which let in ample amounts of natural light and lead out onto a small balcony where you can gaze down at Parisian street life below. The central location means that there's plenty to do when you want to explore. The local neighbourhood is teeming with theatres if you fancy catching a show, while Centre Pompidou is only twenty minutes' walk away if you're in an artsy mood.
