Where to start with this 13th-century farmhouse sitting at the foothills of the Catalan Pyrenees? Surrounded by expansive gardens, fields, and woodlands, this home offers ancient heritage and contemporary design. With a LEED Platinum certification, the sustainably restored villa will make you feel good about your footprint, too. Though there’s no air conditioning, there are cooling floors and ceiling fans. And while the bedroom suites are on the simpler side, they provide mountain views to wake up to each morning. Your host can arrange outdoor activities, including biking, horseback riding and hot air ballooning, or simply unwind by the saltwater pool while the kids bounce on the trampoline. 

The Spanish Farmhouse

Secluded in the French countryside, this beautifully restored villa is the perfect getaway for large groups. The traditional Provencal interior brings no shortage of space and comfort and the villa stands on 650 acres of land, giving way to olive groves and fruit trees as far as the eye can see. Eight bedrooms are within the main house, and a further three are situated in the separate cottage, known as the 'Bergerie', where you'll also find a separate kitchen - great for inter-generational groups or those wanting more privacy from the main house. The kids will love the private pool, and grown-ups can take advantage of the poolhouse seating whilst supervising. Location-wise, you can venture to the coast on a day trip or visit the medieval Carcassonne, only a fifteen-minute drive away.

Pine & Rhone

A happy French beach holiday is made all the more special when you stay at this gorgeous French chateau. It’s based just a short stroll away from the stunning Racou beach, where you can enjoy a dip in the Mediterranean, sunbathe on the sandy shore, or sip on a glass of champagne in a beach bar. The home sits nestled away in a peaceful spot, surrounded by leafy green gardens, giving you a serene retreat to return to after days spent in the more vibrant parts of town.

We adore how this home is packed with character – ornate tiled floors, elegant light fixtures, traditional artwork and chic French furniture give it a je ne sais quoi that’s rare to find. There’s plenty of places to make lots of memories here – the beautiful outdoor pool provides the perfect place to cool off in the sunshine, while the terrace invites you to sip on sundowners while you watch the sky turn pink on warm summer evenings. For autumn and winter stays, you can cosy up around the fireplace with a French hot chocolate – drunk out of a bowl, of course – or spend evenings stuck into a good book in the library with a glass of wine.


Jewel of Argelès

Located in the heart of charming Begur, this stylish Spanish villa offers the perfect sanctuary within Costa Brava’s bustling town. Ideally placed for strolling into town for delicious lunches and designer shopping, you’ll quickly slip into the laid-back local lifestyle here. Vibrant Barcelona is also around a half an hour drive away and makes for an excellent day trip. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into ensuring Sunset Hideaway has a sociable vibe. You’ll find large living spaces across two floors, making this a great spot for two groups of families looking for the occasional downtime. We loved the contemporary windows that flood the interiors with natural light, providing a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. Its stone-walled garden is in keeping with the home’s traditional charm and offers a lovely backdrop to the sunsets over the Pyrenees each night. 

Sunset Hideaway

Charming is an understatement when it comes to Bed of Roses. Adorned with white shutters, grapevines and plenty of flowers, this home might as well be taken from a picture book. Guests lucky enough to stay here will appreciate the indoor pool, period furniture, large en-suite bathrooms, and, of course, the idyllic setting. Tucked between Toulouse and Montpellier, this southern home invites you to slow down and live like the French do, with ease and style. 

Bed of Roses

Situated in the charming Catalan village of Sant Mori, this elegant apartment is perfect for a small family or for couples visiting this picturesque area. You’ll be within walking distance of the town’s shops and restaurants, with plenty of outdoor activities to be enjoyed too. The home has a large private garden, a pool, and a shaded alfresco dining area. The inside feels bright and comfy, offering a modern design and plenty of light. Although there’s enough bed space for five, we think the home is best suited for four adults and a child. 

The Warmth of the Sun

Renovated to feel luxurious and modern, this beautiful villa was originally built in the 1940s and it has the patchwork stone facade to show for it. Although imposing from a distance, the interior radiates comfort and homeliness to make your break as cosy as possible, but not without a little dash of pizazz. Wander across three floors to find your favourite spot in this home – we can guarantee for some it will be in the games room where you can pass hours playing billiards, whereas other may take most favourably to the minibar and dancefloor. 

As fun as it is indoors, the outdoor area has even more to offer. Splash in the pool or challenge each other to a game of tennis, but don’t forget to unwind on the sunloungers as you kick back with an ice-cold drink and good book. 

Light the barbecue for lunch and make use of the sprawling terrace to socialise with wine, nibbles and good conversation. For a bit of alone-time, you can take to one of the swing chairs to admire the view, or stretch yourself all the way out on one of the hammocks to have an afternoon nap in the shade of the trees. 

Costa Brava has an arresting Mediterranean coastline and we encourage you to explore it. Start by taking a twenty-five-minute walk to the soft sand of Llafranc beach. When you’re not enjoying alfresco meals at home, you might stroll to find some choice restaurants not even ten minutes away.

Casa Bello

This lovely home can be found in Gruissan, a picturesque town in the south of France. If you’re hoping for white sand beaches and beautiful scenery, this is an excellent choice of location. Best of all, it’s home to this stylish abode. 

This home ticks every box when it comes to fuss-free holiday homes. It’s small but perfectly formed, with a cosy living room that’s the heart of the home. Children will love sleeping on the mezzanine level, where they can have their own space while still being close to the grown-ups. 

The outside space here is sure to win over everyone, though. You’ll have access to the shared swimming pool, which is a dream to dive into on hot, sunny days. You can sunbathe alongside the pool, dipping a toe in every now and then, or choose to soak up the sun on one of two terraces. There’s shade aplenty if you’d rather curl up with a book and a lemonade, too. 

Plage de Matteille is less than a kilometre away, where you can splash in the shallows and build sandcastles. It’s also easy to stroll to the harbour promenade – it’s a lovely way to spend an evening. Hikers will be thrilled to be within reach of the trails up Massif de la Clape, which boasts some spectacular views. There’s something for everyone here. 


Pink & Teal

This beachfront apartment will have you glowing from dawn till dusk. The open-plan kitchen, living room and dining area are bathed in natural light coming in through large French doors, so to stay here is to move in to a vibrant, sociable space to prepare meals, play games, and whip up cocktails – complete with sun-kissed balcony to enjoy them on. The design and furniture nod to the sea with aquatic motifs, sleek blue seating, glass top table and polished silver flooring. When you’re not basking in the sun on your balcony, lazy days are best spent on Argelès Beach mere steps from your door. The seven-kilometre long beach is known for its warm sand and glistening water, as well as its seafront promenade with its surplus of shops, restaurants, late-night bars, and children's play area.

The Hot Seat

The countryside around this grand, Catalan mansion looks like a painting with verdant green forests meeting wildflower meadows. The view from the arched windows of the living room, across the green hills to the shimmering Mediterranean Sea, is a reminder that you’re just a ten-minute drive from the coast here. A day at the beach is possible at the secret bays of Cala del Crit and Cala el Golfet, both sandy coves hidden between the cliffs.

But we wouldn’t blame you if you ended up spending all your time at this luxurious, old-world villa instead. Sun terraces and shaded nooks offer sunseekers and wallflowers alike a place to spend the day. The fountain-fed Roman swimming pool invites you for a dip on a hot day and, wandering the expansive grounds, you’ll stumble across a tennis court and games area with ping pong. Outdoor dining is a treat with a huge table for the whole group in front of the summer kitchen and, if you’re hosting a special event, a marquee can be set up on the lawn.

The foundations of this home date back to the 14th century, and inside you can still get a feel for the medieval in the vaulted basement where you’ve got your own private spa. Down here, there’s an indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna. Various lounges and sitting rooms allow the whole group to spread out and our favourite has to be the Rib-vaulted grand lounge with its Baroque painted ceiling harking back to a bygone era. Perhaps spend the evening taking it back to analogue in the library or snooker room. 

Spanish Nobility

Offering you the best of both worlds, this homely cottage in the Spanish countryside exemplifies country living but with easy access to the Costa Brava coast. 

Imagine yourself here, starting every morning in the shaker-style kitchen and enjoying a cup of coffee at the sturdy wooden table. See the beautiful world outside through arched windows as you stroll across terracotta tiles and under curved ceilings. An easiness here will take the knots out of your shoulders and encourage you to spend lazy mornings basking in the sun as you read poolside. Run around on the lawn, dine al fresco at every opportunity – the outdoor kitchen is perfect for putting tapas together – and spend evenings under the stars with a jug of sangria.

With its pastel colour palette and the natural elements that border on boho, this home will be a joy for the whole family, affording everyone the privacy and space they need to unwind. If, however, you’d like to explore more of the area, we recommend trying some of the surrounding restaurants for a taste of Spain. Hike the trails to get more acquainted with the natural landscape and spend sun-drenched days on the beach as you explore the coast. 

The Olive Green Arch

This spacious Mediterranean-style villa offers gorgeous views across the bay of Pals. There is more than enough space for families or large friend groups, thanks to the private pool and separate annexe. Located between the medieval town and golden beach of Pals, you'll want a car here to make the most of your stay. This home's bedrooms and bathrooms are all downstairs, so it might not be suitable for guests with less mobility. But the living room and kitchens on the top floor mean optimal views when dining alfresco or relaxing after a busy day.
