This cosy chalet shows off the idyllic views in every direction and makes an ideal base for anyone exploring the region. You'll feel right at home in this rustic hideaway, with the open-hearth fireplace, squishy sofas and wooden panelling creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's the perfect place to kick off your snow boots and unwind with a cup of hot cocoa and a good book.

Our favourite spot to soak up the sunshine (and the scenery) is the deck off the main bedroom. Enjoy a cup of coffee there in the morning before rustling up breakfast in the kitchen, then grab your skis and snowboards and hit the slopes. When your toes feel frosty and your muscles are sore, head back home to a roaring fire and some delicious cheese fondue around the oak dining table before snuggling up for a family movie night in the lounge.

If you're looking for a quirky place to stay during a getaway to the French Alps, then this unique home could be the one for you. In good snow conditions (this is one of the Alps' most snow-sure resorts, so that’s basically all the time) you can ski in and out of this stylish apartment. There’s plenty of storage for your skis here too, so that means you can go from pain au raisin to powder in no time at all. And that’s not all. Inside, the design of this home has been immaculately thought-out. Wooden walls and ceilings keep things nice and warm, and the faux-fur rugs, throws and cushions really ramp up the cosy factor. The bedrooms are playfully set out, with cuddly toy heads mounted on the wall in the children’s room, and luxuriously soft furry blankets in the master bedroom. Later on, cook a feast of French delicacies in the sleek kitchen, or retire to the cosy TV room and watch your favourite movie. Surrounded by rolling meadows, the ski resort of Morzine is a lively destination with a vibrant après scene. Here you can do all the usual winter activities such as snowmobiling, tobogganing and skiing, as well as ice-diving at nearby Lac de Montriond. This Alpine town is a year-round option, though, with many shops, bars and walking trails nearby.

Right in the heart of France's Three Valleys lies Courchevel, one of the most famous ski resorts in the Alps. Powder fresh pistes, miles and miles of ski runs and one of the longest ski seasons in the area will impress those keen to hit the slopes. You'll find this apartment in the village, just a stone's throw from lifts, gourmet restaurants and eateries. As far as locales go, you can't beat it.
