The Juliette

If you’re ready for a spot of skiing but don’t feel like driving, the ski bus stops just 100 metres from the front door, so you can hit the slopes in Valmorel in no time – just bear in mind that it only runs once per hour.

Hazelnut Lodge

We wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to spend all day out here, breathing in the fresh air or warming up with glass of mulled wine at one of the town’s charming bars, but if you’ve had your fill of being out and about, there’s plenty to keep you occupied back at home. Walnut Retreat

Situated on the fourth floor of a residential building, within ski-in/ski-out distance of the slopes, this super chic and modern apartment offers unmatched access to the upscale ski resort of Courchevel 1850.

The interior takes inspiration from traditional mountain design, with plenty of wooden cladding and stone accents that evoke the grand chalets found dotted throughout the resort. An open living area – with a sofa, dining table and well-equipped kitchen – is ideal for unwinding after an exhilarating day enjoying the outdoors. All your meals are included here, starting with a freshly prepared breakfast, daily afternoon tea, pre-dinner canapés, and – six nights a week – evening dinner prepared by your chef. You can also head into Meribel to sample local culinary delights. Ski-in ski-out from the heart of Meribel, as your location at the bottom of the Georges Mauduit piste is just seconds from the main lift centre.

Champagne Taste 

This apartment is a one-of-a-kind ski retreat in the heart of Les Arcs, with ski-in/ski-out access directly onto the Cachette slope – making exploring the Paradiski area effortless. After a day on the mountain, unwind with the residence’s amenities, including a swimming pool, sauna and gym. There’s even a ski store so you can make sure you have everything you need. As it's facing the south-west, you can enjoy breathtaking views over the mountains and valley from the terrace. Bourg-Saint-Maurice is easily reached via the nearby funicular, and charming Alpine villages are just a short drive away.

Village View

This stylish little studio apartment is right in the heart of historic Annecy. From your doorstep, you can step out into streets lined with wooden-shuttered buildings, where cafés spill out onto the pavement. An alpine town, Annecy is flanked by snow-capped mountains and perhaps the most picturesque spot is the stone Palais in the centre of the Le Thiou River – the view of which is best enjoyed from the riverside restaurants and gelaterias, a five-minute walk from this apartment. Although it’s a studio, the apartment itself feels spacious and it has plenty of character courtesy of the exposed brick wall and hardwood floor. A wall of windows lets in plenty of sunshine during the day and a room divider separates the living and bedroom area from the dine-in kitchen. There’s even a stylish, Scandinavian-esque desk if you want to work remotely. If you want to get around the compact town of Annecy in a flash, your host provides complimentary bikes for sightseeing. 

Alpine Brickwork

If you're looking for a quirky place to stay during a getaway to the French Alps, then this unique home could be the one for you. It's a traditional mazot house, built above ground and supported by stilts, just outside Les Houches – for lovers of the great outdoors, it doesn't get much better than this. 

Inside, the wood-panelled walls create a toasty ambiance where you can settle in and rest your tired legs. The decor is simple yet comfortable, and you can cook up your favourite dishes in the kitchen to refuel after a busy day. The bedroom is cosy, and even has a glass floor panel overlooking the kitchen diner so you can wave hello to your guests. And, if you head outside, there is a private terrace with views across to Mont Blanc, along with a shared garden where kids can play in the fresh air. 

Le Prarion lift is only a five-minute drive away, so you can don your skis and enjoy a brilliant day shredding some powder on the slopes. When it's time for some après-ski fun, then head into Les Houches or take the eight-minute drive over to the famous resort of Chamonix, with its upmarket restaurants and decadent bars. And, during the warmer months, there is a wealth of activities right on your doorstep – from horse riding and mountain biking to rock climbing and even paragliding, you won't run out of things to do easily. 

Mazot in the Mountains

Lovingly renovated in 2020, this home in the heart of the Val d’Arly has both charm and location on its side. You don’t have to look far to find proof of the enviable position – simply wander out onto the balcony and you’ll spot the rolling green mountain there as confirmation. But it isn’t just about the views either, not when the ski slopes of Les Evettes are a mere 1.8 miles away and can be reached via the free shuttles that run in season. Get on the snow and test your mettle on the different ski runs, before coming back for a warming Après-ski drink on the balcony. 

The mix of natural wood and a light colour palette makes this home feel incredibly cosy and we can imagine ourselves curling up on the couch in thick socks and a slouchy jumper. Enjoy cups of coffee as you socialise in the lounge, or carve out some you-time by getting your nose in a novel. 

With ample windows, the home is not only bright and inviting, but it means you get to keep an eye on the view even when you’re having a meal at the dining table, or settling in to watch a movie together.

It may be perfectly set up for a skiing holiday, but it’ll tend just as nicely to a nature lover’s green spirit whilst giving the whole group a space in which to relax and rejuvenate. 

The Snowy Villager

Attracting a glamorous international crowd, this luxurious chalet is located in Courchevel. Close to the snow-capped peaks and winding slopes of the French Alps, a range of winter sports can be enjoyed here, with a private driver available to transport you around the resort. Set over five floors, it’s safe to say there’s plenty of space here, with a private spa and indoor pool a welcome addition after an adventure-packed day. Ideal for entertaining, you’ll have a marble bar and a fully-stocked wine wall, if you fancy a drink before dinner. Speaking of which, a private chef is on hand here to whip up gourmet French meals using the finest local ingredients. 

The Snow Flower

This cosy apartment with ski-in, ski-out access is the definition of chalet chic. Nestled right beside the Pralong chairlift, with easy access to Les Trois Vallees, it's an excellent place to begin your winter getaway. 

Step inside, and you'll find a welcoming space with wood-panelled walls and comfy furniture. You'll probably be ravenous after a day in the great outdoors, so you can whip up a tasty feast in the kitchen – or, book a private chef to do the hard work for you. There's even an outdoor terrace where you can breathe in the fresh mountain air and watch your kids playing in the snow. 

The office next door can organise ski hire and lift passes, so all you need to do is perfect your snowplough. You'll find some good local restaurants in the centre of Courchevel, just a short taxi ride away. And, if you're visiting during the warmer months, you can lace up your hiking boots or hop on your bike and hit the alpine trails to explore.
