If you’re seeking a scenic spot for a group coastal getaway in Normandy, it’s time to stop scrolling. This charming home is perfect for up to fourteen people, with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy some quiet time. We love the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area – just the ticket for gathering together as you rustle up some French cuisine. But the cherry on the cake? It has to be the location. A mere 150-metre stroll takes you to Deauville beach, where sun, sea and sand await. 

Spirit of Normandy

Step back in time at this charming château just minutes from the dramatic Normandy coastline. Inside, it's grand but homely – think dark wood-pannelled walls, chandeliers, exposed beams, and arched windows framing picture-perfect views across the lawn. Saint-Valery-en-Caux, a pretty harbour town with bistros, shops, and markets, is only 4 kilometres away. Or head to nearby Veules-les-Roses, one of France’s most beautiful villages, with waterwheels, thatched cottages, and a pier, where you can try Veulaise oysters, a local delicacy. 

Normandy Château

When nothing but an actual French chateau will do Cosmopolitan Castle comes to the rescue. This lavish home has hosted a few famous faces, from Aga Khan and the Dalai Lama, and now you. With fourteen bedrooms that can accommodate up to twenty-eight guests, this is a perfect place to accommodate a large family gathering or a wedding party, but you can also use it as a a luxurious base to explore Normandy. Places to see theatre easily accessible from here include the Landing Beaches, the Bayeux Tapestry and Monet's Garden — but there's so much to see around here that we'd rather just let you get on with it. When you're not out and about, relax on the vast estate that surrounds the chateau. You can walk in the gardens, splash around in the pool, play ping pong, work on your tan, read in the salon, or socialise in one of the living rooms. When you need some intimacy, retreat to your bedrooms, all of whom are big, quiet, furnished with beautiful antiques. 

Cosmopolitan Castle

Located in the heart of historic Versailles, this home has a great location with the Palace of Versailles a short walk away. Nearby you’ll also find the Salle du Jeux de Palme, while Paris can be reached in under an hour. Or have a walk down Satory Street with its restaurants and shops. Back at this apartment, there’s a pretty shared cobbled courtyard with pots and troughs of geraniums. Inside, it's simply furnished, but it has all you need for a French break.

Geraniums

A beautiful chateau and its guest house await a group of friends or a large family looking to escape their everyday routines and settle into a more relaxed lifestyle. You'll find Chouchou just outside of the picturesque village of Ognon, where there is an abundance of excellent restaurants, typical boulangeries and a bit of retail therapy. Wander along the river bank and enjoy the medieval views. If that's not really your cup of tea, there's plenty to do at the house itself. From the swimming pool to the playground, people of all ages will be entertained here. 

Chouchou

Amidst Calvados orchards and stunning rural landscapes rests this 18th-century chateau in the heart of the Normandy countryside. Dripping in elegance, the castle retains its enchanting heritage dating back to the 1700s, while modern renovations bring added comfort and practicality. 

Experience Normandy's unrivalled calmness as you wander around the chateau's 13 acres of lawns, ancient trees and rose gardens. During the springtime, watch the flowers blossom, while in summer, you can take delight in picking plums, apples and cherries from the orchard. The autumnal colours and majestic charm of the wintertime – make this spot completely ravishing all year round.

Original features inside the chateau include parquet flooring, Louis XV and XVI fireplaces and a wonderful classic French kitchen equipped with an open fire. With such preservations in addition to simply beautiful contemporary additions – this spot certainly boasts the wow factor. We particularly adore the office and library spaces, which somehow make us want to pack our laptops just to find a reason to enjoy these rooms. 

Upstairs the bedroom and bathroom suites are dressed in minimal designs and invite guests to truly switch off. The window-side built-in bathtub is like something from a fairytale and deserves to be enjoyed with a glass of champagne in hand. Or why not make that a Calvados cocktail? 

You'll be within easy reach of the Normandy cider routes from here, so soak up the slow pace of life found in the charming local villages, which are most often home to atmospheric markets boasting fine quality fresh fare. Within short driving distance, the likes of Bayeux, Caen and the D-Day Landing beaches are well worth a visit if you're keen to explore Normandy's cultural and historical sights amongst its captivating natural beauty. 

Calvados Royal

Taken in and of itself, this apartment in Saint-Aubin-sur-Meris is perfectly pleasant. The stark white walls and wood floors feel smart and contemporary, while the flashes of blue and some eye-catching accoutrements – the lighting fixtures and funky stools, to single out a couple – stop it from feeling too anonymous.

However, it's the home's outdoor space and excellent location that really distinguishes it from competitors. Along with two other apartments in the building, guests share a pretty garden bordered by flowerbeds and this looks out to the town's beach, which sits just across the street.

As well as offering opportunities for watersports and relaxation, the beaches of Saint-Aubin-sur-Meris hold significance for the pivotal role that the region played during D-Day. The city of Caen is only half an hour away in the car and offers a wealth of attractions, including William the Conqueror's castle and a selection of contemporary galleries.

Tower of Pebbles

This chateau in Normandy is bursting with old-world charm. Built by the original owner in the 19th century as a wedding present for his wife, it has been lovingly restored in recent years. While historic features like the elegant façade, grand rooms and antique French floor tiles have been preserved, the basement has been converted into a haven for fun and relaxation. The curved brick rooms are now home to a cinema room, a pool table, and a fitness suite. Meanwhile upstairs retains its 19th-century splendour through antique furniture, original fireplaces, and oak panelled walls. 

Set within an 18-hectare estate, there are beautiful spots to while away the days. Relax on the lawn with a book or sip calvados on the charming château terrace. On sunny days, whip up lunch on the barbecue while the children have fun in the play area. There are over 300 apple and pear trees in the fruit orchard, and beautiful walking trails through the estate’s woodland, with sprawling views of Normandy countryside, which you can explore on foot or on the bikes at the house. 

The area is surrounded by picturesque villages and scenery. The historic town of Gournay-en-Bray is a five-minute drive away, where you can pick up local produce at the twice-weekly market for a picnic. The Forêt de Lyons can be reached in twenty minutes by car, where you can practise a range of outdoor adventures, or simply walk through the winding woodland trails. 

Chateau des Bois

With its spire and ornate furnishings, this home is a portal into your own fairy tale. Nestled into a picturesque garden with century-old trees and summer flowers, you and your guests will enjoy a rest in your own fantasy bubble.

The inside of this home is replete with historic charm – the walls are adorned with gorgeous mirrors and ceramics which wouldn’t be amiss in a classic French novel. Special care has been made to make the rooms feel homely – minimalism is certainly not on the menu here, and in your room you might find ornate bedposts, frilly curtains, or an ornamental fireplace. This design philosophy is extended to the bathrooms too, with their vintage-style free-standing baths.

Located near the north Norman coast, the home is just a ten-minute drive away from the famous Pays de Caux. Within walking distance from your home, you’ll also find a charming small town with its restaurants and Sunday market – here you can try local flavours, such as the region's famous cider, cheese, and meat.

Further afield you’ll find beautiful walking paths along the coast, rivers dotted with watermills, the thatched cottages of a former fishing village, and a promenade and pier.

Norman Keep

Situated in the heart of the French countryside, this rural gîte offers a private and tranquil place to call home for those looking to escape the pressures of daily life. A short stroll from the charming village of Villers en Arthies, you'll find local shops and restaurants, while the surrounding fields provide a scenic backdrop for your afternoon walks. And, if you're looking for a little excitement, the lodge is approximately an hour's drive from thrilling Paris. 

Back at home, days begin with a cup of coffee out in the garden, complete with a patio dining area and barbecue for those cosy meals at home. Stepping inside, you'll find a comfortable living area, cocooned by rustic wooden beams, brick walls, and sloped ceilings. Sink into one of the squishy sofas with a good book, as natural sunlight pours in through the skylights overhead. With stylish furnishings, homey decorative details, literature and board games, you and your family or group of friends will soon fall settle into this quaint country abode. 

Country Postcard

A seaside retreat just a few minutes walk from the famous long, sandy beach and the town centre, this place is tucked away in a quiet, leafy street in pretty Villers-sur-Mer. Built in a traditional style, with blue shutters and a white picket fence, it's a stunning home both inside and out.

With accommodation spread over three floors, there's plenty of space here for a large group or extended family. Perfect for families, there's an enclosed garden with a lawn out back and a cinema room that doubles as a playroom in the loft. And that's far from all. Add in a hot tub in the garden, along with a trampoline, football goals and table tennis, and a games room in the house with both table football and a pool table, and we think you'll be spoilt for entertainment.

The home itself is smart and modern, with a sociable layout, comfy furnishings and a well-kitted-out kitchen. And with five double bedrooms, all of which are of a good size, there's no short straw when it comes to picking rooms.


Rocksalt & Blue

This incredibly charming 18th-century manor house, tucked away in the beautiful Normandy countryside, has stood since 1762 and now welcomes family and friends to experience the tranquillity of the estate. Modernised since, it features bold and vibrant design choices that haven't compromised the historic elements like the exposed beams or the statement hearth in the dining space. The sloped ceilings might not agree with taller guests, but it isn't persistent throughout the home and with a healthy acreage at your disposal outside, you can stretch and stroll to your heart's desire.
