With accommodation spread over three floors, there's plenty of space here for a large group or extended family. Perfect for families, there's an enclosed garden with a lawn out back and a cinema room that doubles as a playroom in the loft. And that's far from all. Add in a hot tub in the garden, along with a trampoline, football goals and table tennis, and a games room in the house with both table football and a pool table, and we think you'll be spoilt for entertainment.

You're surrounded by beauty here –wander through the pretty landscaped gardens and head down one of the winding paths to admire the bucolic scenery.  

The large heated 14x4m pool means you can enjoy year-round fun, and there’s an outdoor shower to rinse off in before curling up on a deck chair. The kids will have endless fun running around in the gardens, playing ping pong, and making use of the two bikes. On rainy days they can retreat to the games room, where there’s plenty of board games. 

You are well placed to explore all the delights of the Pays d’Auge region – the village of Honfleur is a fifteen-minute drive away, with its picture-perfect harbour and expansive sandy beach. For the daily shop, there’s a small village near the house which is reachable on foot. On Tuesday mornings drive seven minutes to the farmers’ market in Beuzeville, where you can pick up some local produce and enjoy an alfresco lunch back at home.

Your private terrace provides a lovely place to sit and get some fresh air with your morning coffee, while the dining set makes a great place to gather for champagne cocktails in the evenings and meals prepared with fresh produce from the daily local market.

Taken in and of itself, this apartment in Saint-Aubin-sur-Meris is perfectly pleasant. The stark white walls and wood floors feel smart and contemporary, while the flashes of blue and some eye-catching accoutrements – the lighting fixtures and funky stools, to single out a couple – stop it from feeling too anonymous.

As you'll be staying right on the beach, La Peinture will give you plenty of sea breeze and views to start your day, so get up early, grab a coffee, and sit on the terrace to catch the sunrise. Once you're ready to explore, take a walk on the beach and if the weather is nice, dip your toes into the sea. You can pack light if you're here to swim and work on your tan as you can always return to your gorgeous residence for a snack.
