Located just a five-minute drive from Salvagnac, you'll be within easy reach of this country house's local eateries and French bakery. With a private heated swimming pool, outdoor dining area, patio lounge and a games room – it offers luxury home amenities in a humble environment. Perfect for a large family or group of friends, the grounds are huge and surrounded by nature, with grassy areas and ample space and shade for children to run and play. If you're staying here during the colder months, a cosy aesthetic can be found inside where the log burner fireplace offers a tasteful finishing touch. 




The Valley Forge

In a picturesque rural setting, set on thirty acres of flower-filled grounds shared with just one other maison, this romantic home beckons. While away the days in your private pool with the southern French sun on your skin, or chill out indoors surrounded by charming original features.

With wood-beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls, this home is the epitome of country chic – especially when you consider its contemporary furnishings. The owners have balanced out the rustic decor with sleek lighting, modern wall art and an industrial-style kitchen. Here, keen cooks will find everything they need to prepare a delicious meal with fresh local produce (your host will happily help you fill the fridge). Enjoy your creation al fresco with the sounds of nature for company.

While you're in the area, why not treat yourself to a tour of local vineyards? This region is home to some of the country's finest wineries, after all. Cahors on the River Lot is just half an hour away – saunter through the manicured gardens and take home a bottle of the town's famously rich red wine.

Roses & Stone

This home caught our eye for its peaceful location, tucked away in the Lot countryside, yet only a five minute drive from the town of Floressas. Thanks to the property’s hillside position, you’ll be treated to vast views of the surrounding fields and woodlands. With an east-facing balcony for breakfast, a covered terrace for shade during the afternoon, and an alfresco dining table for evening meals, you can spend all day enjoying the outdoor space. And while the rustic decor inside may not be to everyone’s taste, it certainly gives the home plenty of character.

A Lovely Place to Be

This villa is just moments from Carcassonne’s Medieval City, so it's perfectly placed for some historical sightseeing. You don't have to venture far, though, as you can see the walls and towers as you soak in the jacuzzi. Outside, there's also a heated pool, a children’s play area, and a pétanque court with views of the Pyrenees. Plus the bioclimatic pergola allows for year-round outdoor dining. Three of the bedrooms have more than one bed, so some sharing is involved – but it's ideal for families. And with ensuite bathrooms and an additional TV room, there's plenty of space here for groups.

Medieval Vista

This beautifully renovated sixteenth century farmhouse with sweeping grounds is perfectly suited to a large family or group. Children will love the play room and football goals in the garden, and a couple of the bedrooms are especially designed for kids. The heated salt-water swimming pool really makes this home stand out for us, as does the air-conditioned barn – available for an additional fee – complete with a range of fitness equipment and pool table. Be aware however, that four of the bedrooms and three of the bathrooms are in annexes separate from the main house.

Les Chevaliers

Secluded in the French countryside, this beautifully restored villa is the perfect getaway for large groups. The traditional Provencal interior brings no shortage of space and comfort and the villa stands on 650 acres of land, giving way to olive groves and fruit trees as far as the eye can see. Eight bedrooms are within the main house, and a further three are situated in the separate cottage, known as the 'Bergerie', where you'll also find a separate kitchen - great for inter-generational groups or those wanting more privacy from the main house. The kids will love the private pool, and grown-ups can take advantage of the poolhouse seating whilst supervising. Location-wise, you can venture to the coast on a day trip or visit the medieval Carcassonne, only a fifteen-minute drive away.

Pine & Rhone

This is a stunning, modern villa located amidst picturesque vineyards on the outskirts of the medieval village of Caunes-Minervois. The villa boasts air conditioning, a heated pool, and panoramic views of the Pyrenees. The surroundings are ideal for cycling and walking, and guests can explore nearby attractions such as Carcassonne and Minerve. The villa features an elongated terrace with a sitting area, dining table, and plancha grill. The lounge is spacious and beautifully decorated with large glass windows, comfortable seating, and a flat-screen TV that can double as a virtual painting. The dining table is made from one piece of a tree and invites guests to enjoy long meals. There are four bedrooms, each with air conditioning, and two extra single beds can be added upon request for a fee. Two bedrooms have private bathrooms, while the other two share a bathroom. A sustainable heating system has been installed in the villa's floors to ensure guests' comfort during their stay.

The Champagne Haze

One of the best things about Pilgrims & Wine is the way it balances its old-timey charm with modern luxuries, which results in a villa that looks a lit like an ancient Roman holiday home — and we love it. Think raw stone, doors that open outwards onto terraces, a huge pool with its own little shelter, and plenty of nooks for reading and working on your tan. Since there's quite a lot of space, we recommend this one for longer stays where the balance between autonomy and socialising is as important as the fact that you'll be staying far from city noise. When you're not walking around the vast gardens and admiring the far-reaching views, walk (or drive) down to the nearby Lauzerte. Frequently named one of France's ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, it's full of delightful restaurants, shops, and cafes. Make sure your return to your holiday residence with some locally produced wine and sit back on the terrace just in time to admire the sunset. 

Pilgrims & Wine

Renowned for its gastronomical contributions and the trademark pinkish colour of the buildings, Toulouse is a hub of food, architecture, arts and history, and only a short drive away from this beautiful home. 

When you’re not out eating foies gras or visiting the Canal du midi, you might be home enjoying a delicacy of another kind. Peace. Beautiful from one end to the other, this villa captures a bohemian spirit in wooden and woven elements, a neutral colour palette, and floral prints, but the crown jewel is undoubtedly the conservatory. 

Bookworms will especially love getting cosy on the sofa and reading in the light streaming in through the bi-fold doors – slide these open and enjoy the soft breeze as you devour romance novels with several cups of coffee. 

Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table that also calls the conservatory home, but we suggest at least one picnic on the grassy lawn. Enjoy drinks on the terrace at sunset and sneak down into the kitchen to help yourself to leftovers at midnight. 

Stargaze, play board games in the living room, and snack at the kitchen island as you socialise over a glass of good regional wine.

In Woven Dreams

If you're on the lookout for a quintessentially Provençal French chateau, then look no further. This quaint and charming home is packed with old-fashioned character, with ornate flooring, exposed beams and elegant vintage furniture that all give the home a special feel. But don't mistake it for a boring antiquated abode – there's plenty to keep you entertained here too, with a pool table, ping pong table and of course, the wonderful outdoor pool, which is perfect for fun in the sun. We particularly love the covered terrace, with a dining set where you can share a bottle of French wine as the sun sets. 

Chateau Chic 

Indulge yourself at this 12th-century dog-friendly chateau in Languedoc. This idyllic spot is great for weddings and big family holidays alike, and while the traditional decor won't be for everyone, there's plenty of space for relaxation and entertainment both inside and out. The private pool is heated for free in the summer months, and the wine cellar is fit for a sommelier. For an extra touch of luxury, your host can help arrange services like a private chef or housekeeping, so you won't need to lift a finger. The rural location means you'll want a car here – you'll find medieval towns and villages dotted about the surrounding countryside, ideal for some unforgettable day trips.

Bougainvilliers

Whether you're planning a family reunion, a getaway with your best friends, or a wellness escape to the French countryside, this mansion house is the ideal setting for a lavish trip. Dating back to the 18th century but with plenty of modern comforts, it provides a grand setting for a stay to remember. 

Walking up the stone staircase to the entrance, you'll feel like the lord or lady of the manor. Inside, each room is brimming with history – from the oil paintings to the collection of antique furniture, it's a truly opulent space. Fitness fans can play a game of tennis on the court or organise a workout class in the gym, before plunging into the outdoor swimming pool for a refreshing dip. If you prefer a slower pace, you can wander through twenty acres of parkland, then sweat out your stresses in the sauna or treat yourself to a long soak in the Jacuzzi. And, at the end of the day, the whole group can come together for a decadent meal in the formal dining room – don't forget some local wine too. 

The Natural Regional Park of the Ariège Pyrénées is right on your doorstep, and you can explore the landscapes on foot or on two wheels – your host will even provide eight bicycles. History fans can take their pick from several medieval towns and villages nearby, including Foix, which is a twenty-minute drive away. And, if you want to practice your golf swing, then the nearest course is just five minutes away by car.
