Nestled in the countryside near the medieval bastide of Najac, this traditional farmhouse invites guests to experience an authentic taste of the Dordogne. While the classic interiors and historic stone façade offer old French charm, extras like a private swimming pool and elevated deck overlooking the surrounding landscape make this home stand out. This is an idyllic spot for those seeking seclusion and tranquillity in a beautiful location – you'll be just 6 kilometres away from Najac with its quality eateries and picturesque surroundings.


The Rosemary

As featured on Channel 4’s ‘Escape to the Chateau: DIY', this 19th-century abode is situated in the French countryside between Toulouse and Carcassonne – an ideal location for exploring these grand cities. Its historic interiors have been beautifully restored and paired with modern amenities, including an orangery with a pool table, private bar, outdoor terraces, and five sumptuously appointed bedrooms. Five bikes are provided if you wish to cycle to the nearby 14th-century village, where you’ll find a wealth of history and culture. With 1.5 hectares of lush gardens to explore, this historic home is a departure from the ordinary and offers a truly unique stay.

Revelling in History 

A delightfully restored rectory in the Dordogne valley, this charming home provides peace and quiet for a family or group of friends wanting to slow down and switch off. Surrounded by manicured lawns that are perfect for picnics, you’ll spend mornings on the wraparound terrace listening to the birds sing in the fresh countryside air. When the temperature starts to rise, cool off with a dip in the inviting pool before heading inside to put together a tasty lunch for your loved ones. 

We loved the rustic interiors; exposed stone walls, terracotta-tiled floors and timber beams infuse an organic warmth throughout. Steal a moment for yourself in the cosy living space before retreating to the main bedroom for an afternoon snooze beneath double-height ceilings. If exploring is on the agenda, jump in the car and visit the nearby towns and villages – we were particularly fond of Gourdon, a twenty-minute drive away, as well as the craggy limestone plateaus of Causses du Quercy Natural Regional Park, reached in no more than thirty minutes.

Le Presbytère

Located just a five-minute drive from Salvagnac, you'll be within easy reach of this country house's local eateries and French bakery. With a private heated swimming pool, outdoor dining area, patio lounge and a games room – it offers luxury home amenities in a humble environment. Perfect for a large family or group of friends, the grounds are huge and surrounded by nature, with grassy areas and ample space and shade for children to run and play. If you're staying here during the colder months, a cosy aesthetic can be found inside where the log burner fireplace offers a tasteful finishing touch. 




The Valley Forge

Stay in the heart of Toulouse, enjoying all the comforts this stylish apartment offers. Situated within a historic building, the place retains its character while at the same time boasting lovely contemporary decor.

Though you’ll have to climb a few flights of stairs here, it’ll prove worth it once you step inside and allow yourself to be embraced by the home’s inviting vibe. We love the open-plan living room, with a large comfy sofa, a dining table and lots of warm light coming in through the window. Kick back and relax here after a long day of exploring the city and enjoy an evening of movies and a delicious supper you’ll be able to rustle up in the modern kitchen area.  

Should you have some work to catch up on during your stay, there’s also a desk space in each of the two bedrooms, alongside those comfy beds, which promise a good night of rest. Wake up restored and welcome a new day with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. 

Outside your home, you’ll find yourself close to all of the city’s landmarks, as well as plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. The Museum of Toulouse is also a short walk away – this would be a great place to start. 

We Are the Stars 

Only four minutes from the Place du Capitole – housing one of the nation's best opera venues and the Salle des Illustres – this bright home places you in the centre of the Pink City's Saint-Sernin district. While walking by the terracotta architecture of Toulouse, you'll discover plenty of bars, shops, and restaurants on your doorstep. A short stroll away, the antiquities Musée Saint-Raymond exhibits Roman sculptures and local archaeological discoveries.

Perfect for romantic getaways and solo adventures alike, this minimalistic apartment offers a welcome retreat from the bustling streets below. If you're staying here for business, perhaps you'll start each morning sipping coffee and checking your emails at this unfussy workspace. Once you grow peckish, just open up these white shutters and let the natural light pour into your living space before tucking into a plateful of croissants. We think that this intimate dining table is the ideal spot to plan out your itinerary with your loved ones.

A Dream Aloud

When your mind wanders to sunnier climes, daydreaming about an escape to France, this is the kind of place you’ll find yourself imagining. This stunning villa has it all – a picturesque stone facade, rolling countryside views, and every comfort and luxury you could hope for. 

It’s in the heart of the Perigord countryside, with plenty to discover along the Dordogne. A day trip to the famous medieval town of Sarlat-la-Canéda is a must, with its gorgeous architecture and incredible food markets. Rent bikes from your host and explore the rich and verdant countryside surrounding the villa, taking picnics of local cheese and fresh bread to enjoy along the way. 

Of course, you may find that you’re entirely content to stay put most of the time – there’s enough to enjoy at the villa, after all. Wake up early and enjoy a quiet moment in the garden, sipping your coffee as the early-morning sun warms you. After a breakfast of fresh fruit and pastries, lie in the sun beside the pool, occasionally dipping a toe in to test the temperature. Swim beneath a cloudless blue sky, and play with the little ones on the lawn. This is an idyllic home, where rest and relaxation are the focus. 

In the evening, sip cocktails on the terrace as the sun begins to set. Let a private chef do the hard work in the kitchen, and settle in for a fabulous alfresco feast. Is there anything better than dining under the stars on a warm summer’s night?  


Stone Amid Hills

Charmingly rustic and idyllically rural, this 14th-century mansion is ideal for a family looking for a slightly different countryside escape. History lives on within this property, which harks back to simpler times. Besides the bathroom and second kitchen, the interior has not been modernised. It contains original stone walls, exposed beams and antique furnishings. Dine on plushly lined chairs beneath a dramatic chandelier and explore the characterfully-left old-fashioned kitchen cut from stone. This home, with its secret corners and stairways, will delight curious children who want to explore. Once they’ve found every unique treasure (including an antique sewing machine), they can head out into the verdant countryside. The garden is extensive and even houses a swimming pool overlooking a wildflower meadow. As this château is close to a working dairy farm, you can even spot cattle grazing in the pastures.

Donkey Bray

The organic beauty of the Périgord region features unspoiled lands full of flora, fauna, and elegant chateaus. And its most well-known, the 13th-century Château de Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, is only a six-minute drive from this hilltop retreat. But don’t forget your easel and palette, as you’ll quickly understand why this artist’s family home is the ultimate spot for inspiration.

Two words – mesmerising views. While the lifestyle on the ground involves truffles and Bergerac wine as much as hiking boots and canoes, this home elevates you to another level. On the platformed terrace with stilts built into the slope, pop champagne to say cheers to the start of the holiday. Leave the bottle in the pool house fridge and stroll along the gardens, where you’ll pass incredible valley vistas by your heated pool. The kids can run wild in the play area while you head in to admire the interiors.

Two more words – rural opulence. There’s an old-world, country feel with chunky timber beams, antique furniture, and an array of regal patterns and colours. From the sumptuous curtains to the soft rugs, we love the warmth created by this rich colour scheme, with extra heat coming from the fireplace. Is it time to open the red yet?


The Easel

Yes, this home in the middle of the Tarn countryside dates back to the 19th century and is surrounded by 32 hectares of idyllic meadows, but this isn't the rustic getaway you might assume from first impression. How could it be so when the list of amenities at guests' disposal is so impressive?

Given the rather enviable climate that this corner of South France enjoys, you probably won't be surprised to learn that many of these lie outside. The first one that's likely to grab your attention is the swimming pool, but wander around a bit more and you'll discover everything from a sauna and six-person Jacuzzi to a tennis court and bar in the poolhouse for afterwards.

The home itself still retains an air of grandeur – all high ceilings, parquet floors and chandeliers. There are plenty of large communal spaces in which to gather together, but a fair few more private spots to escape the group for a peaceful moment. Chief among them is the rather elegant freestanding tub in the master bathroom.

One thing you'll quickly appreciate here is just how tranquil the locale is, with even the nearest village sitting 6km away. The surrounding area is peppered with charming towns and scenic hillside walking routes, while Toulouse is only 55km away, too.



Monsieur of the Manor

Known as La Ville Rose on account of its pink-coloured buildings, Toulouse is a striking city home to world-class art, the ubiquitous cassoulet, lively food markets and this comfortable, laidback apartment. The interiors are reminiscent of a Provençal farmhouse – we loved the exposed brick, stucco walls and timber ceiling beams. Wake up feeling refreshed in the cosy bedroom and look forward to spending unhurried mornings curled up on the plump leather sofa with a double espresso in hand.

Should you have some business to attend to, the dedicated desk makes remote working a breeze. When you’re ready to explore your surroundings, you’ll find the Saint Michel Marcel Langer metro station conveniently located a seven-minute walk from your doorstep, connecting you to all four corners of Toulouse. Enjoy a spot of sightseeing in the Capitole – we recommend visiting the Notre Dame de la Daurade basilica and Couvent des Jacobins – before seeking out a brasserie for some slap-up Occitan cuisine.

Brick & Beam

Renowned for its gastronomical contributions and the trademark pinkish colour of the buildings, Toulouse is a hub of food, architecture, arts and history, and only a short drive away from this beautiful home. 

When you’re not out eating foies gras or visiting the Canal du midi, you might be home enjoying a delicacy of another kind. Peace. Beautiful from one end to the other, this villa captures a bohemian spirit in wooden and woven elements, a neutral colour palette, and floral prints, but the crown jewel is undoubtedly the conservatory. 

Bookworms will especially love getting cosy on the sofa and reading in the light streaming in through the bi-fold doors – slide these open and enjoy the soft breeze as you devour romance novels with several cups of coffee. 

Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table that also calls the conservatory home, but we suggest at least one picnic on the grassy lawn. Enjoy drinks on the terrace at sunset and sneak down into the kitchen to help yourself to leftovers at midnight. 

Stargaze, play board games in the living room, and snack at the kitchen island as you socialise over a glass of good regional wine.
