Inside, the villa is unfussy, comfortable and well-equipped – although it's worth noting that you'll have to pay for bed linen here. But, it's the outside space that caught our eye. With sun-kissed terraces, a private heated pool, and the quiet of nature surrounding you, outdoor living is a must. Upstairs, the dining table sits on a mezzanine level, though we will admit it can be quite challenging to climb the spiral staircase with much more than a plate or two, so you might need to enlist some helpers, or simply stick to eating alfresco. A well-equipped summer kitchen, with a pizza oven and barbecue, ensure you can make the most of those long summer evenings.

Head out to explore and you'll find the charming Provençal village of Fayence just a few kilometres away, or it's a ten-minute drive to Seillans, probably the prettiest village in the whole of Provence. For day trips further afield, Cannes and the Côte d'Azur are around an hour away. Meanwhile, golf lovers will find over thirty courses within an hour's drive, including the world-renowned Terre Blanche, which is just 9km away.

Not that you’ve got any need to venture far from the villa. Boasting stunning views over the picturesque wooded hillsides of the Massif des Maures, this stone farmhouse has lots of space inside and out. Two of the single beds are up on a mezzanine level and younger children may need supervision on some of the staircases. That said, the kitchen is well equipped for family meals, and pets are welcome to join you. Sun loungers surround the infinity pool, and the large garden has room for alfresco dining. There's plenty of peace and quiet here, so we think you'll want a car for trips to Saint-Tropez, Nice, and Cannes.

The casually welcoming atmosphere is a product of modern furniture and restored period features, the kitchen being the best example of this harmony. Still, we expect you to spend much more time around this home than in it. This contemporary apartment is all about the location for us. There’s secure parking here, but if you don’t fancy driving on holiday, a car isn’t necessary. Many local hotspots are within walking distance and Antibes train station is a mere five-minute stroll away for adventures further afield in the Côte d'Azur. Walk to Old Antibes, the Picasso Museum or Gravette beach – there’s something for everyone here. And when dinner is calling, head to Juan-les-Pins. A stroll down the seafront promenade, lined with French eateries, awaits.
