Saint Tropez can be glimpsed across the bay, and the quickest way to get there is by ferry from Sainte-Maxime’s harbour — a pretty enough spot in itself thanks to the colourful fishing boats and a profusion of restaurants serving up the latest catch. Situated in the commune of La Croix-Valmer, this coastal apartment is not far from the beach, as well as other famous coastal resorts such as Saint-Tropez – which is reachable by car in just thirty minutes. We would love to begin each morning here with a fresh cup of coffee on the private terrace before spending some relaxing hours soaking up the sun as we recline on a sun lounger. Don’t forget to bring plenty of holiday reading to enjoy in these moments.

Then, why not head to the beach which is reachable in a short eight-minute drive, or in the centre of La Croix-Valmer you will find a free shuttle bus to get you there, plus many other amenities including restaurants and shops. While closer to home, you can enjoy a competitive game of petanque or cool off in the refreshing waters of the shared swimming pool.

Only built in 2021, the interior is fresh and contemporary, and saved from the anonymity of over-ubiquitous minimalist design by the boldly patterned tiling underfoot, some eye-catching metallic light fixtures and the black-and-white artwork dotted across the walls. We've got kind words for the modern kitchen, which is all clean lines and sleek surfaces, as well as the terraces – not only is there a space on the ground level to dine in the open air, but the upper-floor balcony is fabulous for sunset-watching.

You'll find it remarkably easy to embrace the Provençal lifestyle here. The twice-weekly market at Place des Lices is just around the corner and there are beaches you can reach on foot, too. When the sky starts turning dusky, there's a wealth of bars and restaurants in the surrounding streets at which to pass your evening hours.
