Decked out in grey and black, with balconies and terraces featuring clear glass balustrades, it's a delightful spot with some pretty impressive added luxuries.

We enter via the games room and utility area on the ground floor, where you'll find a pool table and – as odd as it may sound – a dog shower. Perfect for washing the sand from your furry friend, it's a unique feature we think could make all the difference to your stay. There's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom – perfect if some guests prefer a little more privacy – and stairs lead up to the large kitchen and impressive living room. Here you can enjoy panoramic views of the coastline and access both a small balcony and a side terrace with an outdoor dining table. It also happens to house a private hot tub with sea views.

The two remaining bedrooms and bathrooms are on the top floor and it's here you'll find our favourite room. The main bedroom is simply stunning, with a private balcony and a large en-suite bathroom with a glass wall so that, from the raised bathtub, you can not only see the TV but also out through the patio doors to the sea. 

Perfect for a group of friends or a family here to relax on the beach, it's only a short walk to the Whitsand Bay Golf Course, and a cute café, with plenty of big attractions within a short drive.

With only Hoe Park between you and the sea, spend your stay strolling along the waterfront and visiting the Barbican area’s pretty harbourside restaurants, less than a ten-minute walk from your doorstep. 

The apartment itself has beautiful sash windows, which flood the rooms with light. Wooden floors, mustard velvet upholstery and a modern kitchen make the open-plan living space a comfortable and stylish place to relax after a day of exploring. But the highlight of this home has to be its views, which you can enjoy from the balcony. We think it’s an experience best enjoyed with a locally distilled gin in hand as the sun sets into the water.

You'll have all the charming rustic touches you would hope for — exposed stone walls, a vaulted ceiling and a log burner — but there's a modern feel, and absolutely no chintz. You can slip into your own wood-fired hot tub just outside the back door, and the host has been thoughtful enough to provide a generous stack of logs to get you started. Meet the farm animals or set off alongside the private Nature Reserve to discover the private shingle beach on the River Tamar. Later, take advantage of some of the farm's other surprises — a communal games room with ping-pong, a shared tennis court, a hammock hidden away in the orchard, and a basketball hoop. With a number of extra activities also bookable, you can take part in a foraging workshop, try out stand-up paddleboarding or get involved in local wine tasting. Alternatively, you can drive to the port city of Plymouth in about forty minutes and visit the National Marine Aquarium.

As far as sea views go, it doesn’t get much better than a former lighthouse building. Above the rocks, this secluded home is a unique way to experience the Cornish coast. Watch ships sail by from (almost) every room in the house, or head down to find a private sandy beach just a couple of minutes walk away – the historic monument of Queen Adelaide's Grotto is also just forty-five metres away from the home. Take a pair of binoculars outside onto the patio or roof terrace and if you’re lucky you might spot seals and dolphins in the waves below. Looking out the window in the living room, you can see just how close you are to the restaurant-lined harbourside as boats float in the water. An upright piano can provide the soundtrack to a seaside escape and the full kitchen has you covered for meals at home. The slanted old ceilings in the bedrooms are a little low in places, but really set the cosy tone.
