This gorgeous home can be found on the hill behind Mousehole, under a mile away, in the traditional village of Paul. There you’ll find a cosy pub and a 15th-century parish church – if you’re looking for authentic English charm, look no further. It’s in the heart of the Cornish countryside but still close to the coast, making it popular with hikers and surfers alike. We love Sennen beach for the waves, but Penzance is just as easy to get to if you prefer building sandcastles. 

The house has been recently refurbished with much love. Muted hues and natural textiles are key to the style of this laid-back, comfortable home-from-home. When you’re not lounging inside or dining at the farmhouse-style table, you’ll likely be enjoying the fabulous outside space. 

Let the kids tire themselves out playing on the lawn, in the Wendy house, on the swings, or playing table tennis. Meanwhile, you can slip into the hot tub with a glass of something bubbly and really start to unwind. A short walk from the pretty harbour, this home couldn't be more typical of Mousehole if it tried. Once declared 'the loveliest village in England' by Dylan Thomas, 'Mowzul' is an ever-popular place to visit with narrow streets lined with historic cottages. Set over three floors, this former fisherman's loft is Grade II listed and has just the right balance of character features and modern, coastal-inspired styling. On the ground floor, a modern, eat-in kitchen provides everything you'll need for cooking at home, while the comfortable living room upstairs has the home's main entrance, an electric fire and a charming window seat. The top floor bedrooms are pretty special and we particularly love the vaulted ceilings and clever internal porthole windows. From the master bedroom, you can even see across to St Clement's Isle and beyond – what could be better? Stroll to the nearby, shops, cafes and restaurants or drive to Lamorna Cove (ten minutes) or Penzance (fifteen minutes).

Sitting in Goldsithney's coastal village, this charming cottage is only a few minutes down the road from Perranuthnoe Beach. Half a mile away from your front door lies the ancient market town of Marazion, where you can easily access St Michael's Mount at low tide. This southerly spot on the British map has been hailed for its rich history and turquoise waters, attracting tourists from far and wide.

Walk past the wrought-iron gate and hang up your coats in the porch, then you'll see how the interior design continues to honour the heritage of this home. Put your feet up beneath white-painted wood beams in the well-lit living room, as you wait for a batch of Cornish pasties to bake. With glorious views of St Ives, as pretty as the coastal paintings this artistic town is known for – you won't want to leave this amazing Edwardian townhouse. Situated in a private terrace, with no passing traffic, take in the turquoise ocean vistas from the beautiful, sunny terrace, surrounded by pink hydrangeas, with a glass of Cornish fizz. Or head inside, where you'll be greeted with large bay windows – admire the town, harbour and the sparkling sea from here. Our favourite spot has to be the plush velvet window seat in the bedroom. With two living areas and several outdoor spaces, this home is perfect for a family or group of friends looking to spread out. To top it all, there's parking for up to two cars, which is a rare bonus in St. Ives.

The vibrant town centre is a five-minute walk, where you'll find plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. It's the same walking distance to Porthminster Beach, one of St Ives's six beaches – the others are Porthgwidden, Harbour, Porthmeor, Lambeth Walk and Bamaluz – so you're spoilt for choice. For art lovers, the Barbara Hepworth Museum is a seven-minute saunter, while the Tate St Ives is eleven minutes on foot.
