Inside this eighteenth-century cottage, you’ll find a crackling fire for cosying up on colder nights. A light-filled living space with French doors opening out onto a south-facing private garden for summer evening barbecues. A suntrap conservatory overlooking the garden, that’s the perfect spot for your breakfast. And elegant, spacious bedrooms upstairs (a four-poster bed to boot) with picture-perfect window views. When you do decide to venture further afield from this quiet countryside idyll, you’re just a five-minute walk to the village centre with its award-winning gastropubs for an evening meal. Or head to Daylesford Spa and Farm Shop, just a five-minute drive away or twenty minutes on foot, where you’ll find the best organic food around and plenty of dining options. In the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water, this home offers a contemporary stay in a charming village. The living space is flooded with light and features a stylish sitting area, a sleek kitchen, and French doors leading to a small garden. Head upstairs and you'll find a collection of comfortable bedrooms, plus an additional lounge. Our favourite room is the main suite on the top floor, boasting its own soaker bath ideal for unwinding. Keen to venture out? A short stroll leads you into the village's pubs, restaurants, and shops. You're also near a historic Anglican church, where the chime of the bells will be the soundtrack to your stay.

When Bells Chime

If you're after a modern Cotswold retreat, South Winds delivers the charm of a traditional Cotswold stone house, while inside your hosts have spared no efforts in turning this home into a fresh and contemporary space. There's a lush garden that's large enough for the whole group to relax in and for children to burn off some energy with lawn games and outdoor adventures. After a morning spent soaking in the sunshine at home, you can walk to the centre of the vibrant village of Bourton-on-the-Water, and visit a riverfront pub or restaurant. Whether you choose to stay close to home or go further afield, there are plenty of scenic country walks from your doorstep, making this a fantastic base for lovers of the great outdoors.

The Golden Cot

You’ll find this charming cottage in Lower Slaughter, providing an ideal base from which to explore the beauty of the Cotswolds. Inside, the home is packed full of old school charm, but it’s the outdoor space that caught our eye. Vast lawns give way to pretty flowerbeds, and there are cosy seating areas to dine or simply kick back with a good book. Locally, there are plenty of walks to enjoy through Lower Slaughter that run along the River Eye, along with a village pub serving delicious meals. Within easy reach, you’ll also find Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford – all much deserving of a visit. 

The Cotswold Idyll

With unrivalled views of the Windrush Valley, this Cotswold cottage is the perfect choice for a family reunion or a special occasion with friends. Lavish bedrooms guarantee a good night’s sleep, and the living space, complete with a wood-burning stove, is the ideal spot to hunker down in the colder months. Outside, you’ll find a terrace for meals in the sunshine. When you want to stretch your legs, a network of footpaths leads from the village, but if you fancy exploring further afield, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold are less than a twenty-minute drive away.

Windrush Valley Hideaway

This home's architecture, interiors and refined furnishings all share a charming rural feel, but its five acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, filled with topiary, sculptures and lily-padded ponds, tell the tale of Granada's ancient Alhambra fortress. It's a design paradox that we just love. Set in the quaint village of Kingham, there's plenty of great pubs, restaurants and woodland footpaths nearby – you're perfectly placed for exploring the sprawling Cotswolds from this pretty cottage. Upon arrival, recharge your batteries with a hearty meal in the bright and airy dining area, benefitting from soaring ceilings and windows that flood the room with light. Cosy up with a good book around the exposed stone hearth fireplace or knock up few light bites in the modern kitchen with exposed beams overhead. While its rustic features add interest, the heated indoor pool and Turkish Hammam really steal the show – treat yourself to a morning dip, before exploring the gardens or sporting your finest whites on the tennis court. With so much to see and do around the home, we just know you'll run out of time at this peaceful oasis. 

Alhambra

Tucked in the pretty village of Milton-under-Wychwood, this home opens its doors to a cosy Cotswolds stay. Stepping inside, you’ll be welcomed by snug rooms, an open-fire and all the essentials you could need to settle in and unwind. There’s also a garden and a patio with a barbecue for warm weather days. Private parking is available for one car and it’s just a short stroll to an award-winning pub. It’s also a great base for exploring the Cotswolds. From here, it’s just a short drive to Chipping Norton and Stow-on-the-Wold.



Lucky Love

This 17th-century listed cottage is situated in the village of Great Rissington, a short drive from picturesque Bourton-on-the-Water, while Stow-on-the-Wold is 4 miles away. There’s a pub a very short stroll away or for walkers, the famous Cotswolds Way spans 102 miles starting at Chipping Campden and ending at Bath Abbey. This wisteria-clad home’s private, lawned garden has fantastic views over the Windrush Valley. Inside, there’s all the character you’d expect, including beams, original flagstone floors and an inglenook fireplace with an open fire. This idyllic place promises an unforgettable escape. 

Wisteria Valley

With its warm stone exterior, there's no mistaking what area of England this lovely Edwardian villa is in – it’s nestled in the popular Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water. We adore the fragrant, lavender-filled south-facing garden – it's the perfect spot for a sunny afternoon barbecue followed by a lavender martini. The level lawn is ideal for garden games too. The grounds here are a real highlight – there's even a beautiful pear tree flourishing at the front.

Inside, you'll find an array of character features such as the original quarry floor tiles in the hall, exposed stone walls, beams, decorative fireplaces and stained glass windows. There's a cosy snug as well as an elegant living room, so this place is ideal for families or friends looking to spread out a little. To top it all, there's parking for three cars in a private bay behind the house – a total bonus in such a central location.

When you feel like exploring this beautiful village, you'll discover its low bridges, pretty waterways and traditional stone houses. Or head to the Cotswold Motoring Museum, which has a variety of vintage cars and a toy collection. The nearest major supermarket is an eighteen-minute walk or a four-minute drive away, and there are some tempting bakeries for tasty pastries and bread. But where are the charming pubs, we hear you ask? Well, there are three lovely ones to choose from here. 



A Cotswold Sanctuary

This 19th-century stone cottage is as cosy as it looks. Boasting an inviting living area, a country-style kitchen ideal for family dinners, and a collection of en-suite bedrooms, you'll have everything you need to feel at home. Summer afternoons call for lunch in the courtyard garden, while chilly evenings are best spent curled up in front of the fire. Location-wise, the postcard-pretty village of Lower Slaughter is on your doorstep. Enjoy long strolls along the River Eye, grab a pint at the local inn, or spend the day in Bourton-on-the-Water, 2 miles away.

Fox's Rest

Perfectly placed for exploring the best of the North Cotswolds, this peaceful cottage is as charming as its surroundings. Wake to garden views and fresh pastries from the village bakery, then head out to explore nearby Stow-on-the-Wold. Back at home, the open-plan living area is made for together time, prepare supper in the kitchen, then settle by the wood-burning fire with a glass of red. Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms with traditional touches. Outside, the garden is an ideal spot for alfresco meals and morning coffee. With space for two well-behaved dogs, this cottage offers a warm, relaxed base for country rambles.
