This lovely home is perfect for those who don't want to leave their dogs behind when going away on holiday. The property is expertly crafted to accommodate pooches so they can also have a wonderfully comfortable stay. There's plenty of space within the house as you wander through, admiring the beamed ceilings and rustic wooden features throughout. Snuggle up together in the living space, including the dog of course, to watch a movie on the TV as you sip on a toasty cup of coffee. You've got a choice of where you'd like to tuck into meals too, whether you opt for an al fresco lunch in the courtyard, a hearty homecooked plate at the indoor dining table, or a light bite while sitting at the breakfast bar.

The outdoor space is a fantastic spot to enjoy a picnic with your loved ones on the grass or on the picnic bench, as your loveable dogs run around and play. In fact, you may even spot a range of wildlife during your stay here as red deer and hares have been seen amongst the rural surroundings.

Not only is the house great for dogs, but the surrounding area too. With relaxing walks along the Weavers Way as you traverse through verdant trees and bushes – a beautiful getaway from the hustle and bustle of busy daily life. A short drive takes you to the market town of Stalham where you can treat yourself to a delicious portion of fish and chips. Sea Palling Beach is a fifteen–minute drive away from the house for a day out by the ocean – your dogs will love running up and down the sand here.

With its thatched roof and shuttered windows, you couldn't ask for a cuter cottage than this Grade-II listed address sitting in the middle of a country estate in rural Norfolk.

Although it dates back to the 19th century, the interior is a little more contemporary than you might expect, save for the wooden beams and winding staircase. White walls and framed pictures lend the feel of an art gallery, while the cosy kitchen with a Belfast sink retains a rustic air. And what could be a better way of ending the day than with a long and languorous soak in the freestanding bathtub?

When the weather forecast makes for kind reading, the home has a private patio complete with a hot tub, barbecue and plenty of furniture to help you make the most of it. If you're after a home that's got space for you and your beloved pooch(es), we've found one that's just 'paw-fect' (we can't promise that won't be the last dog pun). A gorgeous barn conversion close to the wind-whipped Norfolk coast, this home has been set up with dog lovers in mind. There's enough space for up to four of your furry friends to join, with a lavish fleece-lined bed for each, throws for those that just won't stay off the sofa, an enclosed garden and a special dog hamper to welcome them. Two-legged guests will love the open-plan living and dining area, the AGA in the kitchen, comfy sofas and plenty of games. You'll definitely want to keep the dogs out of the bedrooms, though, as the Egyptian cotton bedding is far too sumptuous to share. Nearby there are lots of dog-friendly woodland and beach walks, and local pub The Star Inn will be happy to welcome you and your tail-wagging companions. After a day out exploring the best of the north Norfolk coast, treat yourself to a soak in the hot tub looking out over the surrounding fields. If you want to explore further afield, head twenty miles north to Cromer, known as 'the gem of the Norfolk coast'. We think it makes for the 'ulti-mutt' escape.

Perched close to the sandy shores of Norfolk’s Walcott Beach and surrounded by patchwork fields, this charming barn conversion has all the makings for an easy, breezy seaside retreat.

From its blissfully quiet, secluded spot, you could feel a million miles from anywhere – which is how we like things. But when the sea calls, the soft sands of Walcott Beach are just 0.9 miles away. A smidge further, you’ll find the post-card pretty village of Ridlington (a 2.5-mile drive). Or, there's good old-fashioned beach fun down at Mundesley, with its colourful beach huts, lip-smacking fish and chip shops, and lashings of ice cream.

Back home, this light-filled treasure is a joy to return to, with its exposed beams and stonework bringing all the wow factor. Set out across one level, extended families or friends sharing will love the privacy the bedrooms bring, each with a separate bathroom. And there’s heaps of space to get together for catch-ups and cuppas around that impressive wood burner – the underfloor heating will keep things toasty in winter too. And when the sun shines, fling those French doors open wide and head out into the suntrap garden for drinks on the terrace as kids and furry friends alike burn off some energy on the enclosed lawns.

If you're travelling with furry friends in tow, look no further than this thatched-roof cottage close to the Norfolk coastline. 

Throws for sofas, dog bowls, bags and biscuits all come as standard. Tiled floors downstairs mean there’s no need to worry about muddy paw prints on carpets, and if you don’t fancy one of the many great walks on the doorstep, you can just let them exercise themselves in the garden. Even the local pub — the Lessingham Star, a couple of minutes’ walk — is dog-friendly.

Of course, you don’t need a hound to enjoy this fantastic house. The owners are former residents and it still very much has the feel of a family home. Downstairs, there are plenty of cosy living rooms and snugs in which to rest up after long rambles. In the country-style kitchen, there's an electric range oven for the full rural fantasy, although there's a barbecue out on the terrace if the weather's on your side. Come nighttime, you might be able to see bats or hear owls, foxes and deer from the nearby woodland.

When you want an afternoon out, there's a hedge-lined grassy track that will take you to Sea Palling beach in twenty minutes' walk and the Norfolk Broads can be reached in no more than five minutes in the car. The city of Norwich is a forty-five-minute drive away, too.

This home is ideal for families, as there’s so much to do. It can be found in pretty Bacton, within easy reach of the Norfolk Broads and Norwich – and just a short walk from Bacton Beach. In addition to having a cosy, traditional home to return to after days spent in the fresh air, you’ll also have access to a communal indoor swimming pool and a games room. The shared garden is a lovely spot when the weather is fine, too. The decor on the rustic side and the main bedroom isn’t entirely private, so it won’t suit everyone – but we think it’s a great option for a family and their four-legged friend.

This elegant coastal home set a mere 0.1 miles from the beach in the postcard-pretty village of Happisburgh, had us charmed with its country garden and summer house alone. And that was before we'd even seen the slipper bath and four-poster bed of its swoon-worthy interiors.

Inside, every corner of this Norfolk home feels like an interior magazine brought to life. Antique pieces and objets d'art nod to the home's 18th-century beginnings, while pops of colour add a dash of modernity.

Set out over one level, there's room for you to all spill out in style here. When the sun shines, pad out into the enclosed wraparound garden for alfresco breakfasts. Then savour that second coffee beneath the dapple of the apple tree while kids and furry friends run off some energy on the lawns.

When you're ready to meet the locals of this otherworldly village, Happisburgh's traditional inn dating back to 1550 is just around the corner for upper-crust grub. Or follow the iconic red and white striped lighthouse down to the seafront for afternoons of picnicking and sandcastle building.

As evenings draw in, head home to run yourself a bubble bath (there are fluffy robes and slippers at the ready) before nestling beside the fire and breaking out the home's board games. Then all that's left to do is sink into that hug of a king-sized, four-poster bed – it's got dreamy slumbers written all over it.

From here, make your way to the thatched barn house to enjoy a refreshing swim in the communal pool or an energising workout in the mini gym. Children (and adults) will love the playful spirit of the gardens – there’s a giant chess set, seesaw and trampoline as well as a games room in the old gig house. 

Days can be spent hiking along the coast or following in the footsteps of pilgrims to the ruins of Bromholm Priory – just a short walk away.

The colourful, light-filled living room benefits from bi-folding patio doors that extend out to a crowd-pleasing garden that boasts a spa-style hot tub, bar area and outdoor seating, so you can spend lazy evenings dipping in-and-out of the jacuzzi, sipping drinks and swapping stories. On chillier nights, chum up and challenge your friends and family to a round of pool or foosball in the games room. Or break open a bottle of wine in the sleek, chef's kitchen and plate up the catch of the day – there's plenty of fishing opportunities nearby, so be sure to bring your rods. Located only a short walk from Happisburgh beach, this stunning barn conversion is a fantastic spot to bring your loved ones and let loose. While the pups are playing in the garden, you can chill out in the shade with a cocktail recipe that took you mane iterations to perfect and play scrabble to showcase your enviable vocabulary. Take the tribe to the beach whenever you feel like and when the weather is nice, have a picnic there too. On lazier days, you might only make it as far as the orchard garden, but that's more than fine as long as you remember to relax. When you feel like embarking on a day trip, Norfolk will provide plenty of fascinating destinations ranging from war memorials to famous tearooms.

Tucked away in the quiet village of Bacton, this charming flint home absolutely exudes cosy comfort. With a sumptuous sectional sofa and a crackling wood burner in the living area, a large dining table in the country-style kitchen and three inviting bedrooms, there's plenty of space here to spread out and make yourself comfortable. Home chefs can cook up a storm in the kitchen – it's well-stocked with everything you need – while kids play a board game or snuggle up with a book. That said, our favourite spot has to be the sunny garden. Fire up the barbecue for dinner, share your meal around the outdoor table and then when the sun goes down, snuggle up by the fire pit underneath the stars.

Right down the street is the ruins of the Priory of Bromholm, a historic abbey that was said to house a piece of the True Cross. And just a little further, only five minutes away, is a sandy beach, where you can sprawl out on the Norfolk coast and dip your toes into the water. When you're not in the mood to cook, there are a few pubs and eateries in town, plus lively Cromer is only ten miles away – perfect for a day trip.

Quaint and charming, this classical holiday cottage sits tucked away in a quiet and leafy spot, just a short walk from the sandy beaches of Bacton. There are plenty of coastal walks and cycle rides nearby here, so it's ideal if you want to make the most of this seaside location. It's based on a small site that sports some fantastic shared facilities you'll have access to during your stay, including a heated indoor pool, games room, sauna, gym, and even an outdoor giant chess board so you can enjoy a game in the sunshine.

Wildflower Breeze

Perfect for pups, this lovely cottage has everything you and your four-legged friends will need for a seaside getaway. It's incredibly dog-friendly, with heaps of features that dog owners will appreciate – an enclosed, astroturf courtyard (no muddy paws!), easy-clean laminate floors, bowls and crates, and a comfy white sofa that looks stylish but is easy to wipe down. Even without a pooch, you'll be happy to call this annexe home. It's bright, inviting and has plenty of charm. Owners Tracie and Neil are highly knowledgeable about the area and keep a cosy, traditional home – they live next door but can be as hands-on (or off) as you need. We love their attention to detail, and a few unique pieces were handcrafted by Neil, including the TV stand converted from a Singer sewing machine, the pine coffee table and the light fittings. Set in the coastal village of Happisburgh, there's a lot to keep you busy. After an alfresco breakfast, lace up your boots and take a walk along the beach – both Cart Gap and Happisburgh Beach are a twenty-minute stroll away. You can't miss the bold red-and-white-striped lighthouse along the sea – it's the oldest working one in East Anglia – but other places worth exploring include the lush Bacton Woods and the collection of inns and pubs serving traditional English food along the seaside.

Take yourself away from the everyday humdrum and head to the pretty Broadland village of Barton Turf, where this one-bed former farm building offers a sleepy idyll free from obligation. Fling open the French doors for views over rolling farmland – a small patio table is an ideal spot to sip wine with your other half – or indeed, by yourself in blissful solitude. You might spot marsh harriers, deer, hares or even badgers. 

Inside, you’ll find a roomy breakfast bar and a cosy living area. After a cup of tea on the comfortable sofa, strap on your hiking boots and explore. Follow bridleways through the surrounding countryside or charter a day boat and pootle along the River Ant. In the nearby village of Neatishead, a leisurely thirty-five-minute walk away, you’ll find a traditional pub – it’s the perfect place to refuel after an exciting day navigating the Broads and beyond.

From here, days can be spent hiking through the countryside or winding your way along the coast – Mundesley Beach is just a couple of miles away, while the Norfolk Broads are also within easy reach.

This baby blue timber lodge is just as cute on the inside as it is on the outside. As well as having all the essentials for a romantic getaway, there are house plants, colourful pieces of artwork and a turquoise accent wall to give the place a bit of character without overdoing it — one of the hosts is an interior designer, can't you tell? Out through the glass door, there's a large garden with a cosy seating area at the far end and plenty of potted plants dotted about. You'll find that there's a real sense of peace here. The local village of Banningham is small — albeit with a well-recommended gastropub — and there are plenty of outdoor excursions to fill your days with nearby. The birthplace of Anne Boleyn, Blickling Estate, takes ten minutes to reach in the car, while Cromer Beach is a seventeen-minute drive away, too.

You can even plan bucket and spade days at Sea Palling Beach, which is only a fifteen-minute drive away. After an action-packed adventure, why not pop into your local pub for a pint?

Come into the cottage and put your feet up by an old-fashioned fireplace. You can whip up a bacon breakfast while listening to the radio, then thumb through a good book on this tartan armchair. Don't forget to spend time in your secluded garden, where you can commit to a British barbecue in all weathers. For dinner, fire up the barbecue and dine alfresco as the sun goes down – with the roses in bloom and sea salt in the air, it's pure bliss.

Although the Norfolk coastline is only half an hour's drive away, you don't even have to get in the car if you fancy a refreshing dip while staying here. Out in the garden, a heated swimming pool will be the place to play and relax all throughout the summer months.

When the British weather has other ideas, however, there's plenty to like about the home's interior, too. The long living room benefits from big windows at either end so there's plenty of natural light, while the kitchen is both generous with surface space and finished in a fetching shade of mint green.

In the local area, there are distractions to appeal to guests of all persuasions. BeWILDerwood theme park takes seven minutes to reach in the car, while Wroxham Barns is a twelve-minute drive away. There's no shortage of walking routes and watersports opportunities in the surrounding Norfolk Broads as well.

With fifteen acres of land to explore, there are great walks to be had from your doorstep, and here you'll be about twenty minutes by car from Norwich in one direction, and the stunning Norfolk coast in the other.

Gently Down The Stream

From the moment you sweep into the private grounds of this flint-clad Norfolk farmhouse set just a short walk from the beach, you know this isn’t going to be your average coastal bolthole. Dating back to the 1600s and surrounded by three acres of fairytale-esque gardens, this is a home for all ten of you (and your furry friends) to pile in and start living the seaside dream in serious style.

In the summer months, pad out onto the elegant terrace to catch the golden hour sun with a tipple or two. Kids can run amuck on the vast lawns with a kickabout, game of badminton, or search out the garden basket swing, all under your watchful eye. Then head back indoors to cook up a feast in the shaker-style kitchen. There’s a grand dining room if you fancy rolling out the red carpet or keep things casual and alfresco on the veranda.

And when it’s finally time to spread your wings further along the coast, take your pick from some of North Norfolk’s coast finest beaches – the coastal towns of Overstand, Sheringham, and Mundesley are just a short drive away. 

Seaside Heritage

Found in the coastal village of Sea Palling, this home is ideally positioned to explore some of the best scenery that Norfolk has to offer. Before you adventure through your surroundings, drop your bags, get the fire roaring and make yourself comfortable in the cosy living space. Should you start to feel peckish, there’s a fully-equipped kitchen at your disposal – take your plates outside to the well-kept garden if the sun shines. Once you’re refuelled and raring to go, frolic on Sea Palling’s Blue Flag beach before quenching your thirst with a well-deserved pint at Reefs Bar, a ten-minute stroll from your doorstep. Just beyond the village, you’ll find designated bridleways and a National Cycle Route if you’d prefer to explore on two wheels. Jump in the car and visit The Broads’ picturesque waterways, a twenty-five-minute drive away or pop down the coast to visit the pups at Horsey Seal Colony – and be sure to try the food at the 1940’s inspired tearoom. 

The Dunes

Open some wine and cook up a storm together, before settling down at the long dining table to enjoy your culinary creations. On chilly evenings you can throw a log on the fire and get cosy on the sofa afterwards – or, head out onto the patio to enjoy an alfresco sundowner in the breeze. 

Pack up your bucket and spade and take a short wander down to the water to relax on the sand and admire the rainbow of beach huts. Refuel with some local fish and chips – there are three places to try, so you might have to sample them all. If you fancy a round of golf then there's a course on the outskirts of Mundesley, and walkers and cyclists can explore the Norfolk countryside from here too. 

Perfectly Polished

This charming cottage provides scenic views of the Norfolk Broads right from its living room. Sit with a book by the electric fireplace, occasionally pausing to gaze out at over the green hills of East Anglia. The cute, country-style kitchen is compact but has everything you need for self-catering. 

Embark on a hike, straight from your front door, stopping for birdwatching and fishing by Womack Staithe. Back at home you can sunbathe in the courtyard and plan a picnic in the shades of the towering oaks in the communal garden. 

Head east for the Horsey Gap Beach and west for the historic city of Norwich, which is packed with museums, bars and restaurants. For something a little quainter, stroll along the banks of the River Thurne in the village of Ludham.

Womack Cottage

With only an eight-minute walk and a front door separating you from Mundesley Beach, this is a fantastic starting point for families wanting to explore the Norfolk Coast. Otherwise surrounded by bars, shops and the Mundesley Golf Club, this house is undoubtedly central, which is a big tick on location. Neutral with a touch of country-house chic, it's homely, comfortable and, with well-sized bedrooms, spacious enough for up to ten. Though there are two living areas and by no means a shortage of seating, you'll also find patio furniture on the raised deck. We recommend afternoon wine and nibbles as you watch the kids expend their energy on the manicured lawn.  

Beams & Barns

A stay in The Broads delivers more than just stunning scenery – with watersports, boating, cycling and birdwatching at your fingertips, all you need is a good base to enjoy them from. This rural home in Ludham is a little traditional, and you won’t find any modern features here, though it’s a comfortable and cosy space to return to at the end of a day at Horsey Gap Beach. The garden allows you to make the most of the sunshine, and while the fireplace is only decorative, the living room is a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine.

If you're looking to get away from it all, this home is in the ideal spot. All on the ground floor, it's set in a wing of a Grade II listed Palladian Villa and surrounded by 200 acres of unspoilt parkland. Originally built in the 1930s for use during the shooting season, the main part of this impressive house is now a family home. Beautiful arched windows let the sunlight stream into the spacious living room and offer views out over the grounds. 

Step straight from your door to explore the woodland, meadows and lakes of this vast estate – and if you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of deers, badgers, otters and all kinds of birdlife. Or enjoy a few games of tennis on the owner's outdoor court. 

It's only a four-minute drive to the nearest pub, or it's a fifteen-minute ride to the delightful coastal town of Cromer with its pier walk, crabbing, and fish and chips by the shore. By day you can explore the area's sandy beaches, walk the Norfolk Coastal Path or discover the National Trust properties of Felbrigg Hall and the Blickling Estate (a ten and twenty-minute drive, respectively).


The Huntsman

As you'd expect from a lighthouse cottage (built in 1680), this home has sea views from the private garden and the living space. We love that the bedroom has been formed from the circular base of the lighthouse tower (though the bathroom is back up the stairs off the living room). And the good news is this lighthouse doesn't have a fog signal, so you won't be woken in the middle of the night. When you feel like exploring, a ten-minute stroll along the coastal path will take you to the North Norfolk town of Cromer, with its sandy beach and an array of shops and restaurants. Or for golf lovers, adjacent to the lighthouse is a golf course.

Sea Salt Harmony

This converted barn nestled in the Norfolk landscape is perfect for a country getaway. With plenty of outdoor space and easy access to the region's prettiest spots, it's ideal for families or groups of friends who want to get back to nature. 

The interior is bursting with character – you'll love the soft fabrics, warm color scheme, and original features that echo the building's history. On chilly evenings, you can curl up beside the fireplace with a good book and a glass of red wine, before preparing a delicious dinner in the kitchen. And, when the sun shines, you'll want to make full use of the garden's handsome garden – there's even an alfresco dining area and a summer house, so you can find your favourite spot. 

From here, the gorgeous Norfolk Broads are just a twenty-minute drive away – why not hire a boat and explore? If you fancy a day at the seaside, the sandy shoreline of Bacton Beach is only twenty-two minutes away by car. And, for those that are missing the city, historic Norwich is a thirty-minute drive away –  visit the castle, do some shopping, and round off your day in one of the traditional pubs. 

Barn By The Broads

Quaint and cosy, this old shoemaker's cottage in the heart of Cromer is a perfect seaside retreat for two. It's just a two-minute walk from Cromer Beach and the Victorian pier, making it a top-notch spot for couples to unwind. 

Inside, the home hasn't lost any of its traditional charm, thanks to the wooden floors, timber beams and vintage furniture. Lighthouses and wooden shoes line the shelves, paying homage to the cottage’s excellent seaside location as well as its history. The living room is warm and comfortable — on chilly nights, snuggle in front of the electric fire with a good book and a glass of wine. While the kitchen is on the smaller side, it still has everything you need to whip up a quick breakfast or light lunch. 

When it's time for dinner, we recommend grabbing a bite to eat at one of the fabulous restaurants, delis, and cafés in town, then finishing off the evening with a nightcap at the pub across the road.

Mere moments from Mundesley's Blue Flag beach – about five minutes on foot, give or take – this family home is the definition of a coastal escape. It's tucked away from the bustling village, yet you're still close enough to the sea that you'll feel salty air on your skin as soon as you step outside. Now that's what we call a win, win.

Speaking of outdoors, we think the garden is the perfect spot to savour a tipple or two in the sunshine and dine alfresco underneath the blue skies. It's completely private, and the grassy patch is ideal for little ones and four-legged family members alike. 

Inside, keen cooks will have a blast rustling up feasts in the kitchen, which comes well-equipped with everything you'll need – be it a Nutribullet blender or a Sonos sound system so you can listen to tunes as you work. We love how the design reflects the seaside surroundings, with its calm creams and relaxing blue hues. And, with an Amazon Alexa in every bedroom, a lush soaker tub in the bathroom and an array of books and board games, all the creature comforts are accounted for, too.

Mundesley is a delightful little village steeped in coastal charm. After a day at the beach, swing by one of the independent stores and do a bit of souvenir shopping, then crawl into the local inn for a refreshing drink and fish and chips – an excellent option when you don't fancy cooking.
