This picturesque coastal cottage is tucked away in the heart of Whitby, just steps from the renowned Flowergate and an eight-minute walk from the harbour. Blue Flag West Cliff beach and promenade is just a five-minute walk away – on your way home enjoy traditional fish and chips or visit a nostalgic seaside arcade before exploring the famed Whitby Abbey from Stoker’s Dracula, just an eleven-minute walk away. The cottage itself is classically charming, with a sage kitchen, wooden dining table and fireplace. The open living space is sociable and comfortable, providing an inviting atmosphere for conversation and rest after a long day. Fall asleep under exposed wooden beams and wake up to views that stretch over the orange roofs and all the way to the sea. Then eat breakfast all together, or catch a breath of fresh air over a cup of coffee at the communal courtyard tables. Once you feel adequately recharged, set off to explore more of this enchanting coastal town and the beautiful surrounding area.  

A Fine Day

It may have literary associations with a certain Count Dracula, but you won't find any vampires roaming the streets of Whitby. Instead, it's a charming and memorable seaside town with more than a few fans who return year after year. And a stay in this smart home is bound to be unforgettable, with a great location and a few luxury touches. Set over three floors, and with a striking modern interior, it's perfect for a large family or a group of friends. On the first floor there's a super stylish open-plan kitchen and living space, made for socialising over breakfast or lingering in over drinks in the evening, with a more cosy sitting room on the ground floor. The bedrooms are all of a good size, but it's the master that impresses us the most thanks to its free-standing bath tub in the corner of the room. Stroll into the town to explore its boutiques and eateries, play on the beach, climb the steps up to the abbey ruins and, whatever you do, don't miss out on some of the world's best fish and chips. Here it's all right on your doorstep.

Bumblebee Jasper

This cosy house is perfect for family breaks to the seaside. It stands on the edge of East Cliff, just a ten-minute walk from Whitby’s town centre and its narrow medieval streets lined with pubs, shops and comfy cafes. You can walk easily to the west side of town, where you’ll find the Blue Flag West Cliff Beach and its brightly coloured beach huts. Add in the wonderful Whitby Abbey and its rich history, and you’ll never be short of things to see and do here. 

The house itself is warm and welcoming, with heaps of space. It’s an excellent choice for a big group of friends or a couple of families travelling together, as there’s plenty of room for everyone. We love the balcony that opens out from the living room – it boasts gorgeous views of Whitby and its harbour, and is the perfect spot for a morning cuppa. Later on in the day, you might pick up takeaway fish and chips to unwrap on one of the picnic tables on the terrace. It’s a lovely way to round off a day at the seaside. 


Boats in the Harbour

Ideally positioned right in the centre of Whitby overlooking the River Esk, modern and minimalist design lends a subdued air in this elegant townhouse, while the tranquil palette evokes a feeling of calm.

With enough space for everyone to spread out, this home makes a great getaway for families and groups of friends. The sleek kitchen invites you to rustle up a delicious breakfast to start your day, while the balcony – although small – is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee as you watch the fishing boats return with the catch of the day. We particularly loved the snug on the second floor, too – an excellent hideaway to curl up with a book and enjoy some downtime after a busy day exploring the town. 

Speaking of exploring, you've got the perfect base here to experience everything Whitby has to offer. Get hearts pumping as you make your way up the famous 199 stone steps – it's an easy twelve-minute walk from your front door to the bottom, and you'll be rewarded with magnificent harbour views once you make it to the top. Or maybe you'd prefer to take the kids to the popular Captain Cook Memorial Museum, just a ten-minute stroll away. Even the ancient Whitby Abbey is reachable on foot in twenty minutes, where you'll be able to admire the stunning Gothic architecture.

The Grande Dame

Located in the very heart of Whitby, this characterful cottage sits amid the attractions lining the River Esk. Here, you'll be surrounded by seafood restaurants and charming pubs leading you straight down to the seafront, where West Pier promises an idyllic fishing spot. Alternatively, the Dracula Experience on your doorstep will surely put you in the mood to hike up 199 steps to the must-see Whitby Abbey.

Roll out of a comfortable bed each morning, then wander downstairs for a hearty breakfast. Enjoy your cup of tea beneath the traditional wood beams, as you sit on a modern barstool ad discuss your daily itinerary. After an adventure or two, you'll be itching to return home with fish and chips. Be sure to light the log burner because we think your open-plan living space is the perfect place to cosy up with your loved ones. Before bedtime, there's nothing better than a long soak in this freestanding tub while you sip wine.

Brother Sparrow

Lovingly designed by Styled Interior Design, this beautiful seafront apartment boasts a perfect, central location off North Terrace, making it the ideal place to explore the seaside town of Whitby. 
With coastal views spanning West Cliff, this home is clean and contemporary right though, with a soft neutral colour palette warmed up with shades of navy and ochre. The thick, snuggly carpet is in–keeping with the home's plush appeal, meanwhile the luxury bedlinen in all three bedrooms promises to keep you comfortable and snug after a busy day exploring the Yorkshire coast.
Beautifully curated wall art give this place character and the textured soft furnishings help create an authentic home–from–home feel. The interior really is spectacular, but if we had to pick just one feature we're head–over–heels in love with, it would have to be the living room telescope. A unique addition that welcomes guests to admire the breathtaking seascape, this fabulous piece is one that the whole family will adore.
In terms of getting around and exploring your surroundings, you couldn't be in a better spot. Pretty much everything is within walking distance, meaning there's no need to get the car out – you can just pull your shoes on and tour Whitby by foot. The promenade is just a short stroll from the apartment and a bunch of fun arcades and fresh fish restaurants can be found on Pier Road.

West Cliff Telescope

There’s room for all ten of you (and your four-legged friends) to pile into this family-friendly townhouse, set in the heart of charming Scarborough, and just a hop, skip and a jump from the beach.

Pack your bucket and spade for days along the coast – there are four sandy bays to choose from here. But our vote goes to your nearest, North Bay, with its golden sands, chalet-lined promenade, and, tucked away in the corner, the Sea Life Centre. And for a spot of culture, the 300-year-old Scarborough Castle is just a short walk away.  

Back home, this three-storey, newly renovated Victorian townhouse is immaculately presented throughout. Kick off your sandy shoes in the inviting entrance hall and make your way into the vast living spaces. While your nominated chef rustles up dinner in that made-for-action kitchen, kids will be kept busy in the dedicated playroom right next door, complete with a flat-screen TV, PlayStation 4, and books aplenty. This smart apartment, located just a few metres away from the shoreline, is the perfect place to call home during a trip to the charming town of Whitby. With plenty of space, stylish decor, and fantastic sea views, you'll settle in in no time at all.

Cross the road and you'll arrive at Whitby’s West Cliff beach, a blue-flag beach where you can paddle or stroll along the sand, ice cream in hand. There are plenty of nearby seafood restaurants where you can savour the fresh catch of the day, along with independent boutiques and cosy pubs dotted along the cobbled streets. Don't forget to walk up the 199 steps, made famous by Bram Stoker's 'Dracula', to visit the iconic ruined cathedral.
