The kitchen, meanwhile, is lovely and luminous with a stunning Scandi table ready to host hearty breakfasts while feasting on fourth-floor views and intimate dinners while you watch the city’s lights twinkle. Both bedrooms are pared-back and equally sophisticated, providing a cosy canvas for a dreamy night’s sleep. With a separate office room on hand as well, you’ll have no trouble catching up on work from your stylish home base. Outside of your home, you’re a twenty-minute walk from both Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street’s shops and a fifteen-minute stroll from bucolic Dean Village. 


The Haymarket

If you’re in search of simplicity and comfort in a fantastic location, look no further than this apartment. Tucked in Edinburgh’s New Town, it’s less than a ten-minute walk to iconic sights like Edinburgh Castle and you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to local restaurants, cafes and shops. You’ll also find great public transport links with Waverley train station within easy reach. It’s worth noting the apartment is on the third floor with steep stairs to the entrance, but once inside you'll find a welcoming home. The rooms are family-friendly and the living room is perfect for cosy movie nights.


Thistle Sun

Situated rather conveniently in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town, this elegant apartment offers a lovely base for a family or an intimate group of friends visiting the Scottish capital and looking to make the most of all it has to offer. You’ll be able to reach most of the city’s iconic sights on foot, and with the magnificent Scottish National Gallery just moments away, we suggest starting your exploration with a dose of art. 

You’ll be greeted by a large open-plan living and dining area – we love the sophisticated ambience of this pad, with a stylish lounge area offering a comfy sofa and armchairs. Kick back and relax after a day of dashing about town or delight your loved ones by rustling up a delectable feast in the modern kitchen. 

Later, head over to the comfy bedrooms for a night of sweet dreams – you’ll have a choice of two equally plush rooms here. Factor in the sleek bathrooms, including one with a bathtub, and you'll have everything needed for a restful stay. 

The Monarch of the Glen 

You'll feel right at home in this garden-level Victorian hideaway. From the tartan blankets to the antique furniture, it has a quintessentially Scottish design – yet it doesn't lack any contemporary touches. Outside, a wrap-around courtyard makes the perfect spot to gather in the sunshine with a glass of whisky. Indoors, you'll find a ping-pong table, board games, and a snug with Sky, Netflix, and Disney+ for quiet evenings at home. Princes Street is about a ten-minute stroll away, the Royal Mile is walkable in fifteen, and Dean Village is just down the road. All in all, we think it's a central and cosy stay in the heart of Edinburgh's West End.

Selkirk Grace

The Royal Mile stretches from the hilly city centre, right down to the even larger hills of the Crags and Arthur’s Seat (Edinburgh’s very own extinct volcano). And just six minutes from the edge of this ancient parkland, this modern home is a rather delightful contrast. The interiors are very industrial, but you’ll still find little touches of luxury. We love the lighting fixtures in the lounge and bedrooms, a web of black cords and hanging bulbs which cast a soft glow. Matching this are black metal frames on the door, shower, and bed, as well as dining chairs in the living space. Overall, this flat has a warehouse vibe which feels minimalist yet cosy, ideal for coming home to after witnessing a city steeped in history. Wander uphill after your morning coffee and stop in for some brunch on the High Street, just seven minutes away. Keep on heading to the top of this iconic mile to reach Edinburgh Castle. At just a thirteen-minute walk from home, your descent should include a stop at a traditional pub for a dram of whisky or a pint.

Ancient Ascent

Edinburgh’s New Town is a wonderland of Georgian architecture, stunning stonework, and village-like quarters. While it might feel a world away from the city centre, this home is less than ten minutes from the heart of Princes Street – where sights, shopping, and scenery awaits. In an elegant Georgian building fronted by huge columns and gothic railings, this top-floor flat is at the height of style, and of the city. Despite its historic exterior, the decor is modern and understated. And your first stop upon entering has to be the panoramic views of rooftops and the glistening Firth of Forth from the lounge windows. Trust us, this stony scene looks even more dramatic on a famous Scottish rainy day. If you’re staying in, enjoy your own drizzle in the rainfall shower before cosying up on the plush sofa with a tea. For a local wander, visit the Dean Village, just twelve minutes away on foot. This picturesque neighbourhood, founded in the 12th century, is one of the most tranquil and beautiful spots in town. From here, head down to Stockbridge for pubs, cafés, and vintage shopping thirteen minutes from home.

Rooftop Reign

Everyone knows Calton Hill. You know the one – splashed across Instagram and guide book covers, it's the poster child for Edinburgh's UNESCO-recognised city centre. This two-bed apartment sits at the foot of said famous hill, so you'll get the jump on the legions of tour groups, even catch the sunrise if you wish. Calton Hill not high enough for you? The leg-stretching trail to the top of Arthur’s Seat is a short walk away too with equally Insta-worthy views from the top. Gorgeous inside and out, you've got two outdoor spaces to choose from. Sip wine or a nip of something stronger on the sunken patio, and serve your Burns supper on the bistro table in the walled garden. Two luxurious bathrooms come with a rainfall shower and a deep soaking tub, respectively.

Yonder Hill

Located on an iconic street serialised in Alexander McCall Smith’s beloved Scotland Street books, this beautiful Georgian apartment combines nineteenth-century elegance with luxury modern comforts. 
Tall corniced ceilings, wood floors and an abundance of light coming in through the sash windows create an instantly welcoming feel with chic, contemporary furnishings inviting you to make yourself at home. We love the living room’s large suede sofas that beckon relaxing evenings over a glass of wine by the period working fireplace, and the large kitchen bathed in natural light that’s ready to cater celebratory feasts aplenty. The three bedrooms, meanwhile, have each been carefully curated with a sophisticated touch and boast similarly large windows that give way to New Town views. We’re particularly fond of the main bedroom’s en-suite – a spa-like space with its rainfall shower and tempting tub, the latter providing the perfect end to a night with a glass of bubbly. 
With ample entertainment options, plenty of children’s equipment on hand, as well as a lavish amount of space in which to socialise or spend some quiet time alone, this is an ideal base for those looking to make the most out of their city stay.
Outside of your home, Calton Hill and its wide-sweeping views over Edinburgh is just a fifteen-minute walk away, as is Princes Street’s parade of shops. Edinburgh Castle is also easily walkable in twenty minutes, while charming Dean Village is twenty-five minutes away on foot.
