Steeped in history – with the mediaeval architecture to prove it – Edinburgh is a hub of culture, old meets new, and this Georgian townhouse in New Town puts you within easy walking distance of experiencing it all. Explore the neighbourhood right on your doorstep by shopping the famous Princess Street, around a twelve-minute walk away. Visit art galleries, sit down for drinks at atmospheric cocktail bars, take photos, and then head to Old Town to compare notes. 

Once there, wander between century-old buildings as you traverse the network of narrow alleyways with the Edinburgh Castle looming over you. Once you’ve visited the giant crown jewel of Scotland, don’t forget to do The Royal Mile where you can stop off for a bite to eat at one of the pubs. 

Head home with the souvenirs you bought, and settle in on the plush sofa for a movie – don’t forget the popcorn. Afterwards, you might light the fireplace and work on a puzzle together as you sip cocoa. Maybe you’ll head back out after a dinner prepared on the beautiful Aga cooker and experience more of the New Town nightlife. Whatever you choose, a luxurious bubble bath and comfortable bed is waiting for you at the end of the day.

New Town Charm

The Royal Mile stretches from the hilly city centre, right down to the even larger hills of the Crags and Arthur’s Seat (Edinburgh’s very own extinct volcano). And just six minutes from the edge of this ancient parkland, this modern home is a rather delightful contrast. The interiors are very industrial, but you’ll still find little touches of luxury. We love the lighting fixtures in the lounge and bedrooms, a web of black cords and hanging bulbs which cast a soft glow. Matching this are black metal frames on the door, shower, and bed, as well as dining chairs in the living space. Overall, this flat has a warehouse vibe which feels minimalist yet cosy, ideal for coming home to after witnessing a city steeped in history. Wander uphill after your morning coffee and stop in for some brunch on the High Street, just seven minutes away. Keep on heading to the top of this iconic mile to reach Edinburgh Castle. At just a thirteen-minute walk from home, your descent should include a stop at a traditional pub for a dram of whisky or a pint.

Ancient Ascent

At the eastern end of the famous Royal Mile, you’ll find this modern apartment taking residence in an old brewery. Drawing inspiration from its industrial origins, exposed bulbs, Crittall-style doors, robust furniture and dramatic black accents pack heaps of character into the space. You’re two doors down from the Museum of Edinburgh, a five-minute walk to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and a fifteen-minute mosey to the ancient Edinburgh Castle.

Burnt Copper

Found on a charming cobbled lane in the middle of Edinburgh's famous New Town, this apartment in a listed Georgian building has way more going for it other than its prime spot on the map. Inside, the palette of greys, blacks and dark wood give the interior the sort of character and warmth you envision from a home in the Scottish capital. Two large sash windows in the living space invite in natural light and there are several lavish touches in the interior design, from the ornate furnishings and the patterned wallpaper to the subway tile bathroom. There's a wide selection of restaurants to be found on the neighbouring Queen Street and George Street, while lots of the city's most famous attractions can be easily reached on foot — Edinburgh Castle takes just under a quarter of an hour, for instance.


A Sandstone Stay

Right across the street from Edinburgh’s beautiful Queen Street Gardens, this chic apartment has everything you need for a relaxing stay in the city. With its tall ceilings, soft grey walls, dark wood floors and modern furnishings, there’s an elegant simplicity in the decor that makes you feel instantly at home. We love how the home has been carefully designed with space in mind, like the bespoke kitchenette, cleverly hidden within a cabinet, and the stairs up to the mezzanine bedroom creating a visual feature piece in their own right. After mornings enjoying breakfast at the window-side table and luxuriating under the rainfall shower, go out and explore your surroundings. You’ve got plenty of Edinburgh’s most iconic sights within easy walking distance, including Princes Street for great shopping (six minutes away), Edinburgh Castle for an afternoon of history (twelve minutes away) and Calton Hill for stunning sunset views over the city (fourteen minutes away). Factor in the countless bars and restaurants in your New Town neighbourhood and you’ve got ample entertainment to keep you going.

Steeped in traditional charm and gleaming with grandeur, this charming apartment could easily play holiday home to the Royal Family – and thanks to its prestigious Ramsay Garden location, you're perfectly positioned to enjoy Edinburgh's innumerable sights and sounds on foot. From the famous Royal Mile to the fortress of Edinburgh Castle, one thing's for absolutely certain – you'll never be short of things to see and do.

The home itself is a splendourful hub flush with all things luxurious. Beautiful antique furnishings add character, meanwhile the peppering of gold–framed artworks sprinkle an extra dusting of splendour. The colour scheme is a medley or warm reds and rich browns and in the master bathroom, traditional black and white floor tiles instantly draw the eye. We particularly love the living area with its brown leather chaise sofa and Persian rug. Complete with an ancient fireplace at its heart, there's also a circular alcove and desk to one side, and a flatscreen television. Quite frankly, we couldn't think of a more elegant spot to watch a movie!

Situated a minute’s walk from the frenetic Royal Mile, this cosy apartment with neutral colour scheme and homespun furnishings is a welcome respite set back from the hubbub. Relax in the living space with a good book and glass of scotch or try your hand at cooking up Scottish culinary classics in the fully-equipped kitchens. On warm summer days, open the windows wide for a gentle breeze and the sound of bagpipes to drift through your abode. When you’re ready to take the city by storm, we recommend beginning with a history lesson at the iconic Edinburgh Castle, atop an extinct volcano, just a ten-minute walk away. Should you start to feel peckish, the countless indie cafes, restaurants and bars in the Old Town will see you right. And if you’re in the mood for a spot of shopping, Princes Street is chockfull of big-name stores.

Let The Bagpipes Play

Sometimes you spot a grand-looking, historic building and think the interior could never live up to the impressive facade. That couldn’t be further from the truth for this apartment in Edinburgh’s New Town. The Georgian frontage and original features – think marble fireplaces, high ceilings, and hardwood floors – have been tastefully augmented with rich carpets, and antique and handmade furniture. This light-flooded city pad is a fantastic base for your Edinburgh stay and if you can peel yourself away from the grand Chesterfield sofas, you’re a ten-minute stroll from George Street, twenty from Edinburgh Castle and just over fifteen from the Royal Mile.

Grand Interiors

There are an array of attractions within walking distance of this elegant Edinburgh townhouse, set over three floors. The Royal Botanic Garden is under ten minutes on foot, while the Scott Monument is just over fifteen minutes away. Edinburgh Castle, Johnnie Walker Princes Street and the Royal Mile are under a twenty-five-minute walk, as well. We have to say we love this home’s spacious living room with its character features and large sash windows. Another highlight is the bathrooms with their freestanding bathtubs. There’s a seating area in the dining room, too, which also has a log burner. This home is perfect for families or friends wanting easy access to all that this wonderful city has to offer.

The Castle Hill

Everyone knows Calton Hill. You know the one – splashed across Instagram and guide book covers, it's the poster child for Edinburgh's UNESCO-recognised city centre. This two-bed apartment sits at the foot of said famous hill, so you'll get the jump on the legions of tour groups, even catch the sunrise if you wish. Calton Hill not high enough for you? The leg-stretching trail to the top of Arthur’s Seat is a short walk away too with equally Insta-worthy views from the top. Gorgeous inside and out, you've got two outdoor spaces to choose from. Sip wine or a nip of something stronger on the sunken patio, and serve your Burns supper on the bistro table in the walled garden. Two luxurious bathrooms come with a rainfall shower and a deep soaking tub, respectively.
