Set on the second floor overlooking St Giles' Cathedral, this bright and comfortable flat places you right in the heart of Edinburgh. Step outside and you’re moments from everything from the historic Royal Mile to buzzing bars, shops and eateries. Inside, there’s space to unwind after exploring, with a sociable living room, well-equipped kitchen and comfy beds for a restful night’s sleep. While the interiors aren’t the most visually striking, they’re clean, cosy and have everything you need. It's worth noting there's no lift in the building, so there are some stairs to climb to get to the front door. But once you're in, it’s a fantastic base for exploring one of Scotland’s most iconic cities.

Cathedral Charm

Experience a stay like no other at this cosy Gothic castle, part of an unfinished design for Edinburgh’s first observatory. At the top of Calton Hill, you'll have some truly breathtaking views from this historical home. The National Gallery is next door and the rest of the city is a short walk away, easily making up for the lack of parking. It should be noted that the home's standout location does attract a number of tourists, so if you're looking for some peace and privacy it might not be for you. That said, the main bedroom enjoys an en-suite with a luxurious standalone bathtub, and there's outdoor seating to make the most of this stunning location.

The Stargazer's Retreat

This home's vast living room merges period grandeur with a contemporary neutral palette as the high, elegantly corniced ceilings meet with the modern, muted grey walls. On the raised ground floor of a typical Georgian building, it's the perfect blend of the city's historic architecture and clean-cut contemporary styling. Along with the spacious living room, complete with a dining table for four, there's a separate kitchen with everything you could need for cooking at home, and a relaxing bedroom to retreat to at the end of a day exploring. Found in the West End of the city, near to Haymarket station, the flat offers easy transport links and is only ten minutes walk away from Princes Street. Stroll to Edinburgh Castle in less than half an hour or explore the area's excellent independent boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants, and bars.

The Hydeaway

Tucked in the lively West End, this apartment offers a calm city sanctuary in a fantastic location. You can wind your way along cobbled streets, explore iconic sights and dine in wonderful local restaurants. Paid street-parking is available and there are great public transport links – making it easy to explore further afield. It’s worth noting the apartment is on the first floor with no lift access, but once inside you’ll find everything you could need for a relaxing stay. The open-plan design lends itself perfectly to lazy movie nights or catch up work sessions. 


Awakening Love 

Situated a minute’s walk from the frenetic Royal Mile, this cosy apartment with neutral colour scheme and homespun furnishings is a welcome respite set back from the hubbub. Relax in the living space with a good book and glass of scotch or try your hand at cooking up Scottish culinary classics in the fully-equipped kitchens. On warm summer days, open the windows wide for a gentle breeze and the sound of bagpipes to drift through your abode. When you’re ready to take the city by storm, we recommend beginning with a history lesson at the iconic Edinburgh Castle, atop an extinct volcano, just a ten-minute walk away. Should you start to feel peckish, the countless indie cafes, restaurants and bars in the Old Town will see you right. And if you’re in the mood for a spot of shopping, Princes Street is chockfull of big-name stores.

Let The Bagpipes Play

Step aboard this cheerful green houseboat for a fantastic stay on the water. Moored in Lochrin Basin, in the west of Edinburgh, she is a uniquely charming vessel that invites you to experience life on the canal – without having to actually do any sailing. The gorgeous wooden interior creates a homely vibe, where you can settle in and plan your sightseeing itinerary. Cooking is a joy, thanks to the forest green galley kitchen, and on fair days you can head outside onto the deck for a barbecue in the Scottish sunshine. To help you get extra comfortable, your host provides fluffy robes, hot drinks and eco-friendly toiletries – and kids are well looked after too with a range of entertainment options along with their very own bunk room. Seeing the city's most iconic landmarks is easy from here – Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile and the Grassmarket are around ten minutes away on foot. And, if you want to travel further afield, then you'll find both a bus stop and a taxi rank just thirty seconds away from the boat. 

Castaway Quay

Just over a twenty-minute walk from the heart and soul of the Old Town – Edinburgh Castle – the New Town has quite a different vibe. You’ll find Georgian architecture nearly everywhere you turn, and historic tenement buildings lining the streets as you head towards Canonmills. While these stone structures might look similar from the outside, we can guarantee you'll find eclectic homes within. This flat is no exception. The owner is a local artist, whose creative interior design choices are evident throughout. You’ll find her charming, abstract artwork on display in various rooms, as well as brightly-coloured walls, quirky tablecloth prints, antique furniture, and unique lamps on ornate cabinets. Our favourite spot has to be the lounge – this yellow room is full of character and old-world charm. Light up the fire and gather everyone round for a board game on a rainy day in this sumptuous space. Or at dusk, it could equally serve as a plush pad for an impromptu whisky-tasting session. While you sip on single malts, have the host arrange for a private chef to come over and handle dinner. You are on holiday after all.

An Seòmar Buidhe

Peering out the sash windows of this listed Georgian townhouse apartment, you’ll see the iconic green dome of Charlotte Square Gardens right there before you. It’s just one of the many hotspots of Edinburgh’s prestigious New Town district – and luckily for you, it's all within easy reach from this home.

Pay a visit to the National Museum of Scotland, then grab a coffee for a stroll through the Queen Street Gardens, right across the street. When thoughts turn to lunch, make a beeline for nearby Rose Street with its eclectic mix of restaurants and pubs. And, of course, there’s always the mighty Edinburgh Castle – how could we forget?

When it’s time to break away from the bustle, head back to your light-filled apartment and put your feet up in style. Set over two floors and united by pristine, elegant interiors, it’s a joy to return to. And thanks to its top floor position, the views are superb, and it’s blissfully quiet at night. Rustle up a few wee drams and hunker down in that pair of wing-back chairs with the papers – they’ve got late afternoon dozes written all over them. 

And when it’s finally time to bid this vibrant city farewell, check out is a cinch with your car parked downstairs in the home’s private garage. Or hop back on the train, just a short walk from your door, and away you go. 

Raise a Dram

This apartment is all about the location for us. Set in the New Town of Edinburgh, many of the city’s key attractions are within walking distance, making it a perfect base for those keen to drop off their bags and head out to explore. Ideally suited to a couple, this fuss-free home has everything needed for a comfortable stay and eateries and shops on its doorstep. Just bear in mind that there’s no lift here, so you’ll need to be able to navigate some stairs to reach this lower ground-floor level home. 

Central Haven

If you’re in search of simplicity and comfort in a fantastic location, look no further than this apartment. Tucked in Edinburgh’s New Town, it’s less than a ten-minute walk to iconic sights like Edinburgh Castle and you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to local restaurants, cafes and shops. You’ll also find great public transport links with Waverley train station within easy reach. It’s worth noting the apartment is on the third floor with steep stairs to the entrance, but once inside you'll find a welcoming home. The rooms are family-friendly and the living room is perfect for cosy movie nights.


Thistle Sun

Tucked away down a quiet mews street in Stockbridge, this architecturally unique converted coach house is the perfect place to begin your getaway in the Scottish capital.  It's a peaceful spot that's still within walking distance of the city centre – we think you'll fall in love with Edinburgh's rugged charm in no time at all. 

From the flagstone floors in the kitchen to the original stove in the bedroom, this home is bursting with traditional details to admire. However, there are also plenty of modern comforts – you'll love cooking up your favourite dishes in the well-equipped kitchen using fresh local ingredients. And, when it's time to relax, you can take a soak in the bath before slipping into the crisp white sheets. 

You'll also have access to private river gardens nearby at the end of the mews lane, where you can relax on sunny days or wander down the river into bustling Stockbridge. Beautiful Dean Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an unspoilt pocket of the city with ancient buildings and cobbled streets, just a ten-minute walk away. And, a twenty-five-minute walk will bring you through the New Town to the iconic castle and the Royal Mile.
