Nestled in a private Highland estate, this listed home offers a unique stay in a wonderful location. You’ll have access to a garden, a hot tub and a terrace for evening drinks. Inside, there's plenty of character and all the essentials you could need to get cosy and unwind after a day of exploring. It’s worth noting the house is set within a working farm, but it still retains a wonderful sense of privacy. Parking is available for one car and you can enjoy magical strolls along the nearby River Beauly. It’s also just a short drive to Loch Ness and Inverness. 

The Heart House

Just outside Aviemore, this home is perfect for a family trip to the Highlands. The design is contemporary but still cosy. One living area boasts a log burner – ideal for cosy evenings – while a second snug makes a comfortable hangout for kids and teens. A-frame ceilings and large windows show off the surrounding nature on your doorstep. Speaking of, you're in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Known for its scenic lochs, ancient forest, tree-topped mountain trails, and ski runs, this is a terrific option if you're keen to enjoy the great outdoors.

Cairngorms Cosy

This former railway lodge with a wood-burning stove and cottage garden couldn't be more charming if it tried. A home of this age does come with its compromises. The living room and twin bedroom are both on the snug side, and the only bathroom is a little dated. It's also worth noting that the Strathspey Steam Railway runs daily just fifteen metres from your door – you'll hear it before you see it. But we think this only adds to the experience of staying here. Location-wise, there's a café and food store within walking distance, and all the highland must-sees, including Aviemore, Loch Morlich, and the Cairngorms National Park, are all just a short drive away.

The Railway Cabin

Surrounded by stunning scenery, this lodge makes a wonderful retreat at any time of year. Situated within the Cairngorms National Park, you’ll have plenty of activities on your doorstep. The home itself has an open-plan living space with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and sitting area with a wood-burning stove. This is also where two guests will be sleeping at full capacity. Two of the bedrooms have balconies and there's also a decked area and a lawn space for enjoying the fresh air.

The Highland Retreat

Once the country playground of lairds and ladies, this former hunting lodge sits in the untamed wilderness of the Cairngorms. Acres and acres of grounds are home to a fishing loch with its own jetty, a professionally maintained 9-hole golf course and tennis courts. After a day of action and adventure in the great outdoors, there’s nothing better than soaking in the bubbling hot tub on the patio. Unwind with a single malt by the fire in the sitting room, or opt for an evening in the formal lounge fit for a duke, with its grand piano and wood-panelled walls. With stained-glass windows and a vaulted, beamed ceiling, the dining room reminds us of a church – a beautiful spot to gather the group for a decadent meal. The kitchen’s four-door Aga means country-style feasts are on the menu. There’s more to this home than pure opulence and Victorian splendour. It’s the small details that tie the design to the landscape, like hand-made staircases and the Ossian quotes carved into beams. This place really captures the magic of the Cairngorms. 

Old Milton

Tucked away in the wild, untouched landscape of the Scottish Highlands, this home promises tranquillity with breathtaking scenery to boot. Here, you're a twenty-minute drive from Drumnadrochit, a village perched on the western shore of Loch Ness, and a fifty-minute drive from Inverness. 

Inside, spacious rooms flaunt floor-to-ceiling timber cladding and sumptuous textiles, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere as soon as you step through the door. We especially love the open-plan living space, with its plush seating, dining table and fully-equipped kitchen. Here, a wood-burning fireplace takes centre stage. Set against a striking column of exposed brick, it's the heart of the home, providing warmth even on the chilliest nights.

Watersports enthusiasts will love this home's private access to the River Glass, a short walk from your doorstep. Whether you love paddle boarding, kayaking or fishing, just bring along your kit, and you're good to go. If you'd rather keep your feet firmly on the ground, lace up your walking boots for a hike through the highlands. After busy days exploring, enjoy a relaxing dip in the outdoor hot tub under the stars.

Wake & Wander

Based in the Alladale Wilderness Reserve, this magnificent estate is the perfect place for an idyllic country getaway. Oak wooden panelings, tartan-inspired textiles, and traditional wood-burning fireplaces create a cosy, rustic interior. Classical paintings and exquisite ornaments maintain the historical character of the manor. The rouge formal dining room is the perfect setting for an elegant Highlands dinner party, while the upstairs bedrooms have plush, deluxe beds promising restful nights. The estate includes a professional conference room fitted with a modern projector-system, as well as a well-equipped gym. With all that said, the true beauty of the estate lies on the grounds. Nestled in the glorious Highlands, you’ll have uninterrupted views of Scotland’s natural wonders.

Up In The Highlands

From the outside, this Victorian home looks as quaint as quaint can be, but inside, guests will find an apartment that mixes vintage and modern aspects with considerable dexterity. In the living room, a large bay window floods the space with natural daylight, which dances nicely off the wooden floors and walls painted in muted grey. The Persian rug and deep blue sofa add some bold splashes of colour. Elsewhere, we're big fans of the gleaming copper bathtub in the master bathroom that promises to be as comfortable as it is handsome. Off the same room, there's access to a cute terrace with alfresco seating — yes, it's Scotland, but put on a jumper and enjoy the dramatic sunsets that this corner of the country enjoys. The home's only an eight-minute walk from the River Ness and Inverness's town centre, which includes a castle and an art gallery. Alternatively, if you're feeling more active, Cairngorms National Park takes around half an hour to reach in the car.

The Daughter of Time

Elgin might have a hard, stony appearance when you look at its architecture, but there’s an altogether gentler side that makes this Moray town famous. In fact, very soft indeed – as soft as cashmere. This industry of luxury textiles is still apparent, with your very own stone house being just an eleven-minute walk from Elgin Mill. After purchasing a cosy jumper to see you through the Scottish winter, get comfy in this traditional home. Arrive in style with a private airport transfer arranged by your host, followed by a fridge full of goodies to get you started. Pour a tumbler of whisky and start exploring this vast home. With two lounges where you can put your feet up, you’ll be kept in the lap of luxury. We love the clean, minimalist interiors, with whites and light greys dominating the colour scheme. Nods to Scottish heritage come through with tartan throws in the bedrooms, but there’s a distinctly modern feel throughout. On rainy days, play chess in the sunroom. On bright afternoons, enjoy a picnic in the garden or patio. And on chilly nights, soak in the clawfoot tub after a homecooked meal from your private chef.

The Cashmere Goat

Just a hop, skip and a jump away from the banks of Loch Ness, this delightful homestead is just the ticket for a rural getaway in the Highlands. Days here are best spent outdoors, whether you're trekking through the dense Urquhart Bay Woods, exploring the ruins of Urquhart Castle or hiking to the top of Meall Fuar-mhonaidh for gorgeous views of the water. 

Treat yourself after a long walk at the pubs and cafes in Drumnadrochit, or if you prefer a homecooked meal, head home and rustle up something tasty in the roomy kitchen. With plenty of crockery, cookware and counter space, you'll have everything you need to show off your culinary skills. Take a load off in the cosy lounge, where squishy leather sofas beckon after a ramble through the countryside. Chill out with a movie or a good book – there's a small selection of both – before sprawling out on the comfortable beds. But if you can't get enough of the fresh air, pour yourself a glass of wine and watch the sun go down on the small patio, basking in the peaceful scenery of the Highlands.

Nessie's Place

Nestled in Kingussie within the Cairngorms National Park, this charming home is perfect for large group getaways in the Scottish Highlands. Set across three floors, there’s plenty of space to spread out here and enjoy some quiet time with a good book. But for us, what really caught our eye is the location. Entertainment abounds in the local area – visit the Highland Folk Museum for an insight into local history, peruse the art on display at the Iona Gallery, take a whiskey distillery tour at nearby Dalwhinnie, or visit the Highland Wildlife Park, unbridled fun for all the family. However you spend your days, memorable moments are guaranteed.
