Nestled in a private Highland estate, this listed home offers a unique stay in a wonderful location. You’ll have access to a garden, a hot tub and a terrace for evening drinks. Inside, there's plenty of character and all the essentials you could need to get cosy and unwind after a day of exploring. It’s worth noting the house is set within a working farm, but it still retains a wonderful sense of privacy. Parking is available for one car and you can enjoy magical strolls along the nearby River Beauly. It’s also just a short drive to Loch Ness and Inverness. 

The Heart House

In the heart of Muir of Ord in the picturesque Highlands, this grand home has group gatherings written all over it. The design is somewhat dated but undeniably cosy. The two main suites have zip-and-link beds for ultimate flexibility, while the singles are a great fit for children – just note that little ones under 5 years old aren't allowed. When you fancy some sunshine, explore the mature gardens or enjoy a whisky aperitif in the walled courtyard – the village is home to an award-winning distillery that's well worth a visit. Also nearby is an eighteen-hole golf course, a few cafes, and a train station with links to nearby Inverness.

Slàinte Mhath

This signal box in the Cairngorms National Park is the ideal hideaway for train enthusiasts. It's right next to Newtonmore Station, so while noise is likely, transport links to Glasgow and Inverness are literally on your doorstep. The views across the River Spey are great, too – and thanks to the upside-down layout, you can admire them while lounging on the sofa. On chilly evenings, make use of the sauna or get cosy in front of the log burner. Keen to explore? The Wildcat Trail is just 150 metres away, though Netwonmore is also home to pubs, shops, and museums.

The Train Spotter

Modern furnishings offset the gothic architecture and stonework at this bright apartment. Large cathedral-style windows and an open-plan living and dining area make the most of the natural light. At the same time, accents of tartan, wall-mounted antlers and a green velvet sofa make the home feel like a charming Scottish hunting lodge. Guests will have access to all the on-site facilities, including tennis courts, a heated swimming pool, and a spa. Not to mention the shared lounge, where stained glass windows cast filtered light onto red walls and purple velvet furnishings to provide a stunning backdrop to a game of billiards. Hugging the shores of Loch Ness and set on twenty acres of private gardens, you’re ideally located to explore the stunning landscapes of the Highlands.

Whiskey Over Wine

Whether you’re in search of a Highland adventure or a relaxing retreat, this contemporary lodge makes it easy to enjoy it all. Surrounded by idyllic countryside, you can enjoy the views from the garden – which also features a children’s play area. Inside, the rooms are perfect for families with plenty of socialising space as well as games, books and a baby grand piano for your entertainment. There’s a ground-floor bedroom for guests with reduced mobility and all of the bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms. Outside, it’s just a short drive to Loch Ness and the nearest amenities in Drumnadrochit.


Beyond Pines

Just outside Aviemore, this home is perfect for a family trip to the Highlands. The design is contemporary but still cosy. One living area boasts a log burner – ideal for cosy evenings – while a second snug makes a comfortable hangout for kids and teens. A-frame ceilings and large windows show off the surrounding nature on your doorstep. Speaking of, you're in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Known for its scenic lochs, ancient forest, tree-topped mountain trails, and ski runs, this is a terrific option if you're keen to enjoy the great outdoors.

Cairngorms Cosy

Just outside the village of Muir of Ord, this cosy cottage is surrounded by the Scottish Highlands. If outdoor adventures are on the cards, you're well-placed for them – Loch Ness, Glen Affric, and Inverness are all within driving distance. Located on a working farm, you can expect tractors, livestock, and peaceful country views here. Make a beeline for the garden on summer days – it's the perfect spot to enjoy a Scotch on the rocks as the sun goes down. Inside, the wood-burning stove has cosy evenings written all over it. Since it's all on one level, it's especially ideal for those who struggle with stairs.

Highland Embers

From the outside, this Victorian home looks as quaint as quaint can be, but inside, guests will find an apartment that mixes vintage and modern aspects with considerable dexterity. In the living room, a large bay window floods the space with natural daylight, which dances nicely off the wooden floors and walls painted in muted grey. The Persian rug and deep blue sofa add some bold splashes of colour. Elsewhere, we're big fans of the gleaming copper bathtub in the master bathroom that promises to be as comfortable as it is handsome. Off the same room, there's access to a cute terrace with alfresco seating — yes, it's Scotland, but put on a jumper and enjoy the dramatic sunsets that this corner of the country enjoys. The home's only an eight-minute walk from the River Ness and Inverness's town centre, which includes a castle and an art gallery. Alternatively, if you're feeling more active, Cairngorms National Park takes around half an hour to reach in the car.

The Daughter of Time

This comfortable home is ideal for an escape to Scotland. It’s located just 2 kilometres from Drumnadrochit centre, and the same distance from the shores of Loch Ness. Urquhart Castle is 4 kilometres away – you couldn’t be better placed for exploring this beautiful area. The house sits in a quiet, secluded position, offering views of the valley and the countryside. It’s a real home-from-home, with everything you might need during your stay, including a fully-equipped kitchen and a garden for warm weather. 

Loch Ness Nest

You’ll really feel like you’ve escaped to the county at this wooden cabin in the Scottish Highlands. Nestled near a quiet stream on a 400-acre estate, the home boasts views across the Strathglass Valley from the balcony – best enjoyed while relaxing in the hammock. And with no TV or wi-fi, there’ll be nothing to distract you from your stunning surroundings. Though compact, the cosy cabin has everything you’ll need, including a fully-equipped kitchen, large sofa, and wood-burner. The bed is on a mezzanine level accessed via a ladder, so it won’t suit everyone, but the star-gazing roof window will make the climb up worth it. When you’re ready to explore, you’ll find waterfalls nearby, and Loch Ness a thirty-minute drive away.

Highland Falls

Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Highlands at this cottage in Invermoriston. The leafy garden is a haven for wildlife, from badgers and birds to deer and elusive pine martens. On chilly evenings, get cosy in front of the living area's log burner with a glass of Scottish whisky. Expect traditional touches in every room – some may consider the decor a tad dated, but we think it only adds to the charm. Behind the house, private woodlands lead onto the Great Glen Way, while the village is about a kilometre away. That said, we think you'll need a car to make the most of the setting – Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness are both within driving distance.
