The Northumberland Coast is home to 14th-century castles, vast sandy beaches, rare wildlife, and dramatic views. And in the aptly named Seahouses, this quaint, coastal settlement is home to this gorgeous abode. Just an eleven-minute walk from the local harbour (from where you can take a boat trip out to spot puffins and lighthouses on the Farne Islands), this charming stone cottage is every bit the traditional, English home you’d expect. However, the interiors are beautifully modern, tasteful and creative. We love the juxtaposition of rustic elements like the wood-burning stove and antique sideboard, with industrial-style lampshades and vibrant art prints on the walls. The skylights on the sloped ceilings bring in that seaside sunshine, but equally make a great spot for stargazing. The private patio is another great location for staring at the Milky Way – of course not before a fresh grill on the barbecue, followed by a few alfresco gin and tonics. But if you'd rather venture out, there's a dog-friendly pub just over the road, while the centre of Seahouses with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants is just a five-minute walk from your front door.

This Grade II-listed cottage sits on the grounds of a countryside estate in the heart of rural Northumberland, with Berwick Upon Tweed and the Scottish Borders on your doorstep. Despite the age of the building, inside, the home is equipped with all the mod cons, including reliable wi-fi. The lounge is bright and beautiful, with an atmospheric open fire adding to the cosy atmosphere. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need to whip up family feasts, while the quaint bedrooms have beautiful antique furniture and lovely artwork, and the twin room boasts an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Explore the surrounding area, and you'll discover several nearby pubs and an excellent restaurant within a few miles of the lodge. Why not forego the need for a designated driver and walk there for a hearty pub lunch before rambling home and kicking off your boots in the utility room, and settling in by the fire. Slightly further afield, explore Northumberland's stunning coastline and breathtaking waterside walks. Nestled along Northumbria's picturesque coastline like a lighthouse calling to the ocean, this home will leave you feeling very well connected to the sea. Make the most of having your own personal watchtower where you can witness views of Budle Bay from different angles. We particularly adore the addition of a telescope, which will allow you to explore the distant scenery. Budle Bay has built a reputation as a bird sanctuary, so you might just spot birds like wildfowl and waders flying past. The home itself oozes a connection to the sea and the sandy bays that surround it – from the lush blues of the furnishings to the decorative touches.

Being located on the edge of historic Bamburgh, in the small village of Waren Mill, means you can enjoy long, quiet walks and energetic hikes through the countryside and along the coast here. A trip to Bamburgh Castle followed by a stroll along Bamburgh's sandy shores is a must. It takes five-minutes to drive here and you can easily while away hours marveling at the scenery. Going slightly further afield, Northumbria National Park can be reached within thirty-minutes, and here you'll find beautiful walks amongst the lush countryside.

The Sea is My Friend

The market town of Cupar is a bustling area where ancient monuments collide with vibrant, modern high streets. A fifteen-minute drive from St Andrews, where you can play eighteen holes at the ‘Home of Golf’, you’ll need a home where you can hang up your clubs after a long day. Six minutes on foot from Cupar station, this unique building has historic tales to tell. Dating from 1815, this was the town council’s Burgh Chambers, where important decisions and important people were commonplace inside its walls. But today, you can play the VIP role, as a guest in this vast apartment.

Upon entering the grand living space, you’ll be in awe of its magnificent, period interiors. Transporting you back in time, every piece of furniture has been carefully selected with the help of a Scottish furniture expert, with key Georgian pieces and others made by local artisans.
