Sometimes it's the simple things in life – soaking in a hot tub with a glass of bubbly, snuggling up by a log burner with a good book and enjoying alfresco dinners while the sun sets over the nearby village. This cosy cottage in Saundersfoot promises a taste of that country life, and quite frankly, we can't get enough of it. From the AGA-style stove to the exposed stone walls, it radiates warmth and classic rustic style. There's plenty of room here to make yourself at home – including a separate den fit for the kids, complete with an Xbox for rare rainy days. Out on the deck, you can bask in the scenery while firing up the barbecue, watching the four-legged family members let off steam in the enclosed garden. Better yet, take the dogs for a walk along the sea – Saundersfoot Beach is just a ten-minute stroll away. Brimming with seaside charm and awash with cute cafes, traditional pubs and delicious restaurants, Saundersfoot is a gem in Pembrokeshire's crown. Grab an ice cream cone and sprawl out on the sand or try your hand at crabbing along the harbour walls. Tenby's sprawling beaches are also ten minutes away by car – safe to say, this is an excellent spot for an escape to the coast.

On A Summer's Eve

With its baby blue timber exterior, the long shady verandah that skirts around the side of the house and the verdant surroundings, you could be excused for thinking this house was in the Deep South. And it is in a way, just not the USA. It's actually in the deep south of Wales, part of Trefloyne Manor Golf Course and Spa. Guests can access both of these facilities for an extra fee, as well as the bar and restaurant which sit just a few minutes' walk away. The inside of the home has the feel of a secluded forest cabin, thanks to the wooden ceilings, floors and walls. However, the smart design of the address means it can adapt to the seasons — there's underfloor heating for the colder months and glass doors leading out to a balcony for when the sun makes an appearance. When the weather does look bright, Tenby's South Beach can be reached in fifteen minutes on foot, while the town of Penally can be reached in twenty.

Blue South Wales

If being close to the ocean is your priority, this home delivers in spades. Not only is this apartment situated directly across from Tenby's North Beach, but the private patio has breathtaking views of the harbour and beyond. Morning, noon or night, there's no better spot to sit and relax, listening to the crash of the waves, observing the boats and watching the sun sink over the water. It's pure bliss, as far as we're concerned, and it's made even better by the sleek interior awaiting you in the living area. There are fun nautical elements dotted about, yet even with the seaside motif, the design never feels passe. In fact, we think the whole thing is rather smart, with a dark blue kitchen, luxe rainfall showers in the glossy bathrooms and even a wine fridge for your bottles of bubbly. When you're not at home soaking up the view or lounging on the sofa, spend your time wandering through Tenby's walled centre, admiring the colourful houses, browsing the local boutiques and dining at the many delicious eateries. And with five beaches to tickle your fancy, you'll have plenty of options when it comes to sprawling in the sand. Our favourite is Castle Beach, a five-minute walk away.

The Sweetness of Water

Set above the sea, a three-minute walk to North Beach, this stylish home is perfectly positioned for exploring the heart of Tenby and the Pembrokeshire Coast. Inside, there’s an open-plan living space with a moody blue and grey colour scheme, creating a sophisticated yet cosy feel. We particularly loved the subtle nautical nods and funky artwork. On chilly days, warm your toes by the fire or sip a mug of hot tea by the enormous bay windows, watching as the waves break on the shore. Cook up your favourite dinners in the flash kitchenette – but not before you’ve sampled fish and chips from D.Fecci and Sons on lower Frog Street, some of the best in town. When the sun shines, make a beeline for the placid waters of Castle Beach and explore Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, the oldest of its kind in Wales. If you’d prefer to expend a little more energy, it’s an hour’s amble to Saundersfoot. 

What A Catch

Just a short stroll from Tenby’s South Beach, this cosy apartment places you in the heart of the action. Compact in size, it still packs a punch and offers up everything you need to soak up the coastal vibes and sink into holiday mode. The corner sofa will be a welcome sight after busy days out in the bracing sea air, just the spot to settle down for a movie night with loved ones. As the end credits roll, pad through to your serene bedroom and climb under the crisp white sheets – you’re bound to fall into an effortless slumber.

The stylish kitchen can help you rustle up a delightful breakfast in the mornings, or with your prime location you may choose to take a walk in search of a cafe – a hot cuppa as you sit on the seafront, breathing in the scent of the ocean, sounds like just the ticket. With the harbour, generous beaches and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path all waiting to be enjoyed, you’ll never be bored – and at the end of the day, your charming apartment will be waiting to welcome you home. 

A Sprinkle of Seaside

This sophisticated, monochromatic home in the heart of Tenby allows you to rise with the sun as light pours in through the skylight above the comfortable bed. Just because you’re awake, however, doesn’t mean you have to get out of bed. Stroll to the sleek kitchen for a cup of coffee and get back under the covers to read by the natural light whilst the kids are still peacefully asleep in the loft. 

After a Full English breakfast, make your way to the sandy beaches of this beautiful harbour town and spend the day sunbathing, watching the kids play in the salty surf, and trying every possible combination of soft serve. Explore the quaint shops and cafes surrounding this home and when exhaustion sets in, make your way back home with a takeaway box of fresh fish and chips that you can enjoy at the little breakfast bar. 

Play a few rounds of UNO on the lounge floor, and once the kids are all tucked in, sink into the comfortable corner sofa with a glass of wine and your all-time favourite movie as you put your feet up for some well-deserved relaxation. 

The Tenby Connection

Perched on a hilltop above Saundersfoot Bay, this white villa is blessed with some idyllic views of the Pembrokeshire coastline. Thankfully, it's not just out through the window that you can enjoy this panorama — the large terrace with plenty of seating and a barbecue is an astounding vantage point.

The home's interior is bright and contemporary, with stark white walls, smart wooden floors and large glass doors that bathe the space in natural light. If you're culinarily gifted, you're sure to love the huge and well-equipped kitchen, as well as the equally generously sized dining room in which everybody can enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Of course, you need to work up an appetite first and there are plenty of ways to do just that in the local area. Saundersfoot Beach takes less than ten minutes to reach on foot, while the myriad attractions in the seaside town of Tenby lie the same amount of time away by car.

White Walian

This smart home in the heart of popular Saundersfoot is guaranteed to make your trip a roaring success. Watch the boats bobbing in the harbour, and don't forget to savour some of the locally caught seafood. The town of Tenby is just two miles away, and if you've brought a car then we highly recommend exploring the Pembrokeshire Coast – the landscapes are simply stunning.

Croft House Bliss

Overlooking Tenby's South Beach, this apartment on the lower-ground floor of a handsome yellow building is ideal for those who want to be able to go from their front door to the seaside in a matter of seconds, rather than minutes.

Aside from this proximity to the sea, we found lots else to like about the home. The design is pared-back and sophisticated, with parquet floors, white walls and a selection of chic furnishings creating the relaxed ambience of a high-end hotel's lobby. The baby-blue kitchen is both super-sleek and big enough for cooking up hearty meals, while there's also a private courtyard outside just in case the weather's nice enough to dine alfresco.

If that's the case, there's plenty to see and do in this south Welsh idyll. Tenby Castle is only ten minutes' walk up the coast, as is the town's Museum and Art Gallery. This area by the North Beach is also where you can catch a ferry to Caldey Island, on which you can visit the monastery and spot some of the diverse wildlife.

 

Master Draughtsman

Nestled a mere two-minute walk from Tenby’s North beach, this ground-floor apartment caught our eye because of its location. Inside, the fuss-free home is on the small side but it’s a great base with the added bonus of a dedicated parking space, ideal when staying in a busy town such as Tenby. Another nice touch is the private outdoor area. Just the spot to sit with a book or enjoy an alfresco meal, there’s even an outdoor shower to rinse off sandy feet after a day on the beach. 

The Salty Sea

Nestled within the 13th-century town walls of the charming seaside town of Tenby, this quaint apartment offers a cosy place to rest your head while still being a short hop, skip and a jump from the town’s beautiful beaches. Dressed in greys, the open-plan space you first step into hosts the living room, dining area and kitchen. It’s easy to imagine comfortable evenings at home, snuggled in front of the wood burner in winter months as you enjoy a movie night with your loved one or simply settle down with a good book and a glass of wine. 

The kitchen may be small but it’s still mighty enough to deal with any mealtime requests you may have – although with your location, you may prefer to take a wander and find a local restaurant for the evening. Tenby was once called Dinbych y Pysgod, Welsh for “little town of fishes” – so maybe a spot of seafood should be at the top of your menu wishlist.
