The picturesque town of Caernarfon is a truly lovely part of Wales. You can spend your days strolling along the waterfront, exploring the countryside and moorland nearby, or taking in the beautiful scenery. Glorious Snowdonia National Park is a short drive away, so hikers will want to pack their boots. 

This lovely apartment sits amid the town’s narrow streets, just a four-minute walk from the 13th-century Caernarfon Castle. History buffs will love visiting this UNESCO World Heritage site, which serves as an attractive backdrop for this delightful town. 

The apartment is within a Grade II listed building, but inside, it’s been brought right up to date. It’s warm and cosy, with all the modern amenities you might need for a break in Wales. When you’re not curled up on the sofa chatting and watching movies, you’ll be sitting out on the patio, enjoying the fresh air. Grab a takeaway and sit out late in summer, dining under the stars. You’ll sleep well in the top-notch bedding, ready for another day in this wonderful part of Wales. 


Cosy Caernarfon

Wild and wonderful, this honey-coloured homestead on the edge of St Dogmaels is as charming as it looks. Inside, you'll find rustic living spaces that exude warmth – it'll be hard to resist a Netflix movie night curled up in front of the roaring log burner – and we appreciate how interior bi-fold doors give you full control over the size of the living space. Home chefs can let loose in the kitchen, rustling up freshly-baked cakes and mouthwatering Sunday roasts to share around the eight-seater table. Upstairs, a soak in the lavish free-standing bathtub before bedtime is just the ticket after a long day.

Speaking of, we can't help but swoon over the verdant, lush landscape that awaits you outside. Listen to the babbling stream as you share a pitcher of Pimm's or gather around the fire pit on hazy summer evenings. It's not just grown-ups who will adore this home. Kids can while away afternoons in the loft playroom, play pretend in the treehouse, follow the fairy trail and bounce on the trampoline. With garden games and rope swings, it's perfect for little ones and the young at heart.

The village is just a short walk away, home to an award-winning farmer's market, historic abbey and the River Teifi. Just across the bridge – about a twenty-minute walk – are pubs, eateries and shops in Cardigan, while Poppit Sands, a picturesque dog-friendly beach, is forty-five minutes on foot, seven by car.

Where Fairies Dance

Sitting in the middle of the tiny Snowdonian village of Dinas Mawddwy, this building was once the locale's Wesleyan chapel, but today it's been respectfully converted into a rather remarkable place to stay.

Plenty of the period features remain, including the original brickwork, pew seats at the dining table and the tall lancet windows that look out to Welsh hillsides, as well as bathing the interior with natural light. However, it's also fair to say that the living quarters have been brought up to the standards expected from 21st-century travellers, particularly in the case of the super-sleek kitchen and the large games room complete with tables for pool and foosball.

Despite this architectural setting, some of the biggest perks lie outside the stone walls. Not only is there a terrace on which to sit out around the fire pit, but guests are also treated to a hot tub, which is naturally the best seat from which to admire the stunning surroundings. 

It's fair to say that those fond of the great outdoors couldn't wish for a better location. Cader Idris is ten miles away if you're in the mood for a challenging hike, while it doesn't take too long to reach the coastline when the weather calls for a day on the beach. Closer to home – much closer in fact – the village has a local gastropub only a minute's walk from the front door.

Mountain Chapel

Perched on the banks of the Teifi estuary, this renovated former sea captain's villa in southwest Wales treats guests to some spectacular waterside views. On sunny days, these can be enjoyed on the large terrace, whether that's reclining in one of the loungers, lying in the hammock or sitting around the alfresco dining area, waiting for dinner to be served off the barbecue or out of the pizza oven. However, the sparkly panorama can just as easily be appreciated from the huge windows in the open-concept kitchen-dining area or from the bedrooms. When you can prise your eyes away from the beautiful scene outside, you'll find a modern interior that integrates rustic aspects, such as exposed brickwork and a wood-burning fireplace, seamlessly. It's the sort of place you'll look forward to returning on the return leg of a long walk. If you're in need of inspiration, all you have to do is follow the Teifi — half an hour's walk west will get you to Poppit Sands Beach, while the same amount of time in the opposite direction will take you to the town of Cardigan.

Sherwood House

Built a few years ago, this beautiful conversion may still bear some resemblance to a barn with its stone clad facade, but that’s where the similarities end. Inside you’ll find simple, clean lines and, apart from a few pops of colour, a fairly neutral colour palette. Stylish, and clearly modern, the home’s crowning glory is the wide expanse of green that can be admired from the front door. Stare out over the beautiful dips and peaks as you take your seat at the wrought-iron table outside and nurse your first cup of coffee of the day. 

Breakfast can also be enjoyed out here if you prefer, although the wood dining table in the living space is elegant, and with its position right next to a window, you don’t entirely lose sight of the scenic views on offer. 

With a real focus on reconnecting you with nature, most of the ground floor rooms open up to let the fresh country air in – take a nap on the cushy bed with the doors ajar and wake up refreshed. 

Walk the grounds or watch the little ones run around on the lawn whilst you enjoy a glass of wine in a sun lounger. This is also a great spot for sunsets, but before that, you can drive out and explore the rural Welsh beauty of this area, you might want to stop off at the Rhug Estate Farm Shop and drive-thru, about six minutes away, to refuel before perhaps enjoy two splendid nearby reservoir walks: Brenig and Alwyn

The Valley Barn

Just a short stroll from beach, this apartment is perfectly placed for a refreshing coastal retreat in Pwllheli. You can soak up traditional Welsh charm while strolling to local pubs, restaurants and cafes. It’s also the ideal base for boat trips along Cardigan Bay as well as hiking through the surrounding countryside. Parking is available and well-behaved pets are welcome to join you for a small additional fee. Inside, the rooms are simple and well suited to families with plenty of space to unwind after a day in the fresh sea air. 

The Angharad

Set back on a peaceful, private cul-de-sac, yet just five minutes walking distance from the local village's beach boutiques, wine bars, and eateries – this perfectly positioned holiday home undoubtedly boasts the Abersoch appeal. 

Inside, contemporary interiors ensure a comfortable stay with sleek and inviting designs throughout. We particularly love the large kitchen and dining area, which extends the indoor living space – outside and onto the terrace. On a clear day, you might be able to spot the blue sea views in the distance. After all, this home resides only a seven-minute stroll away from the sandy shores of Abersoch Beach. 

After a fun-filled day of soaking up the quintessential British seaside experience or following a round of golf at Abersoch Golf Club – head home to unwind over a group barbecue on the terrace. With the local park and playground located a minute's walk away, you'll find keeping the kids entertained here an absolute breeze. Since the home is gated, rest assured in knowing that younger children can also play freely in the garden at their own leisure. 

Come evening time; you'll have the choice of strolling down to one of the local pubs for a nightcap or curling up in front of the fireplace for a cosy night in. But at the end of a long day amidst the fresh sea air – where better to sip your glass of wine than from the large free-standing bathtub? Oh, and the underfloor heating makes getting out of the bath that little bit easier too. 



The Abersoch Appeal

Tucked away in a valley at the heart of the Black Mountains, this sprawling home is a dreamy countryside escape. The home is split between an old farmhouse, a cottage, and a studio-style barn, making it a marvellous choice for group getaways. It’s in a stunning location and offers absolute peace and quiet, as well as privacy. If you’re looking to go off-grid and surround yourself with nature, you’ll love this home. 

The farmhouse is as traditional as they come, with wood beams and a roaring fireplace. In the mornings, cook hearty breakfasts on the AGA while enjoying the outstanding views of the valley from the kitchen window. From almost every angle here, the views captivate. 

Perhaps you’ll lace up your boots and head out on a nature walk. There’s an acre of woodland on the 40-acre farm, as well as a stretch of river for you to paddle in. There’s direct access to the Brecon Beacons National Park from the back of the farmhouse, so you won’t run out of hiking or cycling routes. 

When you return after a day exploring the Great Outdoors, you’ll be glad of the mountain spring water hot tub. Fire it up and soak your aching muscles, then spend the rest of the evening playing board games in front of the fire. 

The nearest pub is a fifteen-minute drive, and the cafes and bookshops of Hay-on-Wye are twenty-three minutes away. It may feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but you can grab a pint or a slice of cake easily enough. Perfection. 


Serenity in the Black Mountains

This eclectic cottage lies in the North Wales countryside, bursting with colour and ideal for those looking for an outdoor escape. We think it's great for families, with your host providing a cot and high chair for little ones and allowing up to two dogs to join you. Books and games are provided for entertainment, and the wood burning stove adds that extra layer of homeliness. You'll have easy access to Snowdonia, Moel Siabod, and Conwy, making this home a great stay for hikers, bikers, and anyone hoping to explore the Welsh coastline.

Welsh Wisteria

Charming where it sits on a bend of a lane in rural Dolwyddelan, this terraced stone cottage has become a welcoming base for small families or groups of friends exploring Snowdonia National Park. From the back garden, where a hot tub and dining table are perfect accompaniments to sunny days, you can also enjoy views of Snowdon and Moel Siabod. The kitchen is small and best suited to small bites, but you're close to several restaurants in the town centre. Cosy, bright and brimming with character, this home is also 6km from Betws-y-Coed Golf Club and 18km from Penmaenmawr.

The Copse

Slow down at this Welsh cottage set in the slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog fringing the mighty Snowdonia National Park. Inside, the original period features of this slate-clad home have been carefully restored to create a modern family home boasting comfortable interiors. The welcome hamper stuffed with local goodies is a nice touch, and outside, there's an enclosed terrace to savour morning cuppas. Parking on the road outside the cottage can be tricky, but with a free car park nearby, we don't think it's a dealbreaker. When you're ready for an adventure, Snowdonia National Park is just a short drive away. Or stay local and climb the surrounding Moelwynion Mountains to reach Stiniog –⁠ the views are worth the climb.

Paths to Dawn

You'll find everything you need for a relaxing coastal retreat in this charming house, be it board games and books or ping-pong and Prime. Every inch is warm and welcoming, with cushy sofas, a crackling wood stove and a contemporary kitchen/diner ideal for rustling up homecooked meals. Upstairs, two sumptuous bedrooms promise a restful night's sleep, but what we love most is the sunlit courtyard. We think it's the perfect spot to lounge with a cup of tea or a refreshing G&T as the day draws to a close. 

Newport is a pretty market town on the north coast of Pembrokeshire, situated at the foot of Carnigli Mountain and the Preseli Hills. There's an array of eateries, including small cafes and old-fashioned pubs, within walking distance, as well as independent shops and galleries. Newport Beach isn't far – about a half-hour stroll along the coastal path – while historic sites like Pentre Ifan, Castell Henllys Iron Age Village and Nevern Castle are less than ten minutes by car.
