A stone’s throw from Mades Beach, this Crete villa combines water views with impeccable design. Everything from the sleek marble kitchen to the statement wooden walls point to a luxurious touch and when you combine it with the soft colour palette and plush furnishings, you’re definitely on to a winner. 

Spend mornings around the dining table nursing a rich cup of freshly-brewed coffee before getting breakfast on the go. You can, of course, eat at the dining table, but with the promise of a fresh, sea salt breeze and stunning views out over the deep blue, you might opt for an alfresco dining experience, out on the terrace, instead. 

Spend lazy days either in the swimming pool or reading on one of the sunloungers right next to it, or hurry down to the small beach a few dozen steps away to feel the soft sand beneath your toes. You might even brave the salty surf, but simply relaxing with a drink sounds like a perfect afternoon to us. 

Most of the rooms here will connect you to the beautiful view of the bay, albeit through a window or a door, but we encourage you to step onto the balcony at sunrise, or sunset, at least once. 

Explore the rest of the island, starting with the coastline, as you hop from beach to beach and when you’re not sunbathing, you can find your way to one of the local tavernas to share laughs over a meze platter. 

Beachfront Jewel

Surrounded by rugged mountain slopes and views of the Aegean Sea, this home embodies a calming coastal vibe. There are rustic touches thanks to the hammock and barbecue under starry skies, while the high spec kitchen and bedding have the touch of luxury we so love. Right between the villages of Agia Pelagia and Lygaria, it's safe to say nothing interrupts long days at the beaches followed by cosy evenings at tavernas. Drive 15 kilometres and you're at the capital Heraklion – and where else could you possibly go when you crave a taste of the history and culture of this region.

Shades of the Sea

Prepare for next-level sea views from the mountain perch of this newly-built, state-of-the-art Cretan villa fringing the traditional village of Rodia. Outside, a spa infinity pool with against-current swim function, steam room, fitness suite and a sunken firepit area for stargazing ramp up the luxury. While inside, wheelchair-friendly bedrooms, bathrooms, and lift access make this home as practical as it is stylish. Location-wise, you’re just a flip-flop from Rodia’s tavernas and a short downhill drive to the sandy shores of Ammoudara for beach days.  

A Tranquil Vision

Beautiful inside and out, this villa stands in a cliffside location on a peaceful bay. It looks out over the Aegean Sea and has a stunning private infinity pool – with a whirlpool section – from which you can admire the sea views. We love the covered dining area, which has a built-in barbecue. There’s also an outdoor shower, and a steam room inside. You’ll need a car to get around but will be rewarded with easy access to Agia Pelagia and Heraklion. 

Hera's Stare

Found on a hillside in Lingaria, minutes away from the coast, this home ticks more than one box. Step outside to get better acquainted with the ocean views – especially enjoyable from the edge of the infinity pool or between napping on the sun bed. Though the interior is simplistic, there are surprising touches, like the bathroom tree and the easel in the living room. The location is another win, moments away from a beach promenade lined with tavernas and bars. When you're stuck on what to do, hire a boat or stop at the diving centre and see the island in a new light.

The Muse of Crete

Sleek but practical, this villa packs a real punch. It’s on a hilltop to the west of Heraklion and boasts marvellous sea views. The outside space is dreamy, with a heated salt-water infinity pool with a built-in Jacuzzi and against-current swim features, in addition to a barbecue area. The inside of the villa is no less impressive – it’s spread over four floors but has a lift, a wheelchair-accessible bathroom and ramps. There’s even a gym if you don’t want to skip your workout while you’re away. 

Goddess Of Life

Directly above Mades Beach, this contemporary villa benefits from sleek modern amenities and an unbeatable location. The postmodern undulating balcony emulates the movement of the waves below, reflected in the gentle curve of the pool. Large sliding doors give the rooms unparalleled views, while the sultry living room is the perfect place to relax with a cocktail on cool evenings. 

In the summer months you’ll want to spend most of your time outside. Start the day by stepping out onto the balcony to admire the breathtaking view of the Aegean, before heading down to the pool for a pre-breakfast dip. Or take advantage of direct access to the beach, and make a swim in the ocean the first thing you do. 

Head up to the village of Mades for a bite to eat in one of the local tavernas, or pick up some groceries at the mini market and enjoy an alfresco lunch on your terrace. Heraklion can be reached in twenty-five minutes by car, the culture-soaked city that is home to the Palace of Knossos, and breathtaking Venetian architecture, including the Koules Fortress out at sea. 

Ocean Ripple

This beachfront jewel is located in a tranquil setting directly above the crystal blue seas of Made Beach in Lygaria. Just a fifteen-minute drive from Heraklion, you can benefit from the peace and quiet of the coastal base while also being in easy reach of Crete’s most popular sights. The home is made up of two villas, making it ideal for large groups or two families travelling together. The infinity pool looks out to sea, and a quiet stretch of beach is just 10 metres away. 

The Blue Rainbow

Prepare to swoon at this marble-clad mansion, perched atop the mountains fringing Rodia village and delivering knockout vistas of the Mediterranean Sea. Outside, the tiered manicured gardens surrounding the infinity pool are palatial. Dial in a private chef and host a private party within the grounds. Or, for something more laidback and intimate, the alfresco dining area with a barbecue and pizza oven is spot on. When it's time to explore, Rodia's charming tavernas are just a flip-flop away. You'll need a car to reach your nearest beach, Ammoudara – but the scenic journey is worth the drive alone. 

Summer Ode

This is a great choice for a restful stay on Crete. You’ll find this villa in the hilltop area of Rodia, a former Venetian settlement known for its excellent tavernas – you don’t have to walk far for a good meal here. This home looks out over the Gulf of Crete so the views are top-notch, and the outside space is peaceful and pretty. We love the different seating areas around the pool – you can easily slip away for a quiet moment here. There are only three bathrooms, so you might have to wait a little while for your shower each morning – at least you’ll have those views to take your mind off it though. 

Ionian Ouzo

When you plan an escape to the coast of Crete, you’ll be thinking of clear blue skies, turquoise water, and a fabulous pool to cool off in when the sun gets too hot. You’ll instantly fall in love with this holiday home – it’s the perfect base. 

The villa has been built in traditional stone, so it’s in keeping with authentic Cretan architecture. Inside, natural materials have been used to great effect – it’s a luxurious home that feels welcoming and warm above all else. The view of Mades Beach below will catch your eye from almost every angle, adding the incredible blue shades of the sea to the cool, neutral colour palette. If you’re anything like us, you’ll want to enjoy every meal outside on the terrace, beginning with fresh fruit and pastries in the morning, and rounding things off with freshly caught seafood as the sun begins to set. 

The beach is less than a minute away on foot, so you can plunge into the refreshing waves whenever you want. There are plenty of restaurants within easy reach, and if you find yourself longing for a day trip, the historic archaeological site of Heraklion is only fifteen minutes away by car. This is the ultimate holiday destination. 


Turquoise Shores

This charming villa by the sea is the perfect destination for your next holiday. With plenty of space for all the family, and then a few more, it's a wonderfully peaceful place where you can spend some quality time together. 

The interior effortlessly blends luxury and comfort together – from the hand-crafted staircase to the serene living room, there's plenty to admire here. The tranquil blue colour scheme helps to draw your eyes to the windows, where you can gaze out at the stunning sea views. Step outside, and you'll find a spacious garden, full of fragrant flowers, and a terrace where you can kick back and relax in the sunshine. The shoreline of Paleokastro Beach is just a five-minute drive away, with its crystal clear waters and golden sand.
