Glamour is the name of the game at this imposing villa in the pretty seaside village of Trsteno. Just a short drive from Dubrovnik, it's a sensational, Renaissance-style villa on the slopes above the lush Arboretum Trsteno (which stood in for the heavenly gardens of King's Landing when they filmed Game of Thrones in this area). Its far-reaching sea views are made the most of with terraced gardens, a vast pool terrace and a first-floor balcony big enough to fit the whole group for sundowners. 

The styling here is immaculate, with a tasteful mix of classical and contemporary furnishings, and a luxurious feel to each and every room. We love the huge living room, with its oversized sofas, and the bold, purple-painted dining room. Curved windows add character, while the kitchen and bathrooms are particularly contemporary in style, and you'll spot everything from antique chandeliers to the finest modern pieces by local artists. 

By day, explore the famous arboretum and the little beaches along this stretch of coast, or just let time slip by as you move between pool and sun lounger all day long. The highlight of the region, Dubrovnik Old Town, is just fifteen minutes away by car and both the Elaphiti Islands and the charming Korčula Island are easily within reach. A private concierge service means booking day trips is quick and easy.

Hail the New Romantic

This towering villa sits in an enviable spot in central Dubrovnik. It's around a fifteen-minute walk to the shambling alleyways and historic sights of the famous Old Town, while also being a short stroll from the nearest pebble beach – Betina Cave Beach. But there’s plenty to keep you entertained at the villa itself.

Tiered terraces hang on the hillside, affording fabulous views of Lokrum island, floating out in the crystal Adriatic Sea. Out here, you’ve got a private pool to cool off and, one level up, a sunken Jacuzzi tub for a soothing soak. Dining in the shade of a parasol is a delight with that view to keep the group talking. 

We love the interior, where the light fitting above the dining table looks like an installation in a modern art gallery, and the armchairs could feature in a mid-century museum. Vibrant pictures adorn the walls throughout and the paint-splattered walls of the second living room feel like a work of art in itself. Painting isn’t the only pursuit celebrated in this home – the chrome kitchen could be the canvas for a professional chef and there’s a piano for the maestro of the group in the turret lounge. Bedrooms are sanctuaries, some with access to private balconies, but our favourite has to be the room at the top of the house with its selection of literature for a quiet read. 

The Pearl Diver

A boat trip is available from the harbor to visit the beautiful Elaphiti Islands. This beautiful villa offers both a relaxing trip and an opportunity to explore the surrounding coastal and historic towns.

The home’s traditional decor might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the exposed beams, dark wooden furniture, and stone walls certainly suit the historic location. While the house sleeps six, the twin room is very small so is best suited to children or a single guest.

You'll also find exercise equipment and a pool table down in the fitness centre, along with a sauna to achieve ultimate relaxation. Later on, you might move to the shade of the courtyard to read a book or make plans for lunch. Perhaps you’ll cook on the barbecue and dine alfresco? If you don’t fancy cooking, you can simply stroll into town to choose from the excellent restaurants nearby – this villa is at the heart of Old Town. 

Inside, the villa is traditional and rather grand. You’ll find exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings, as well as art and curios. The bedrooms have been designed in the style of luxury hotel suites, so you’re all but guaranteed a glorious night’s sleep. The annex is home to a gym, sauna and hot tub – there really is something for everyone here.

With direct access to the Adriatic Sea, this dreamy home sits three kilometres from Zaton Bay, where you might spend the day zipping around in a speed boat or paddling in a kayak. Or, just down the road lies Plaža Tri Brata, perfect for bucket and spade days with the little ones. Offering the best of both worlds, Dubrovnik proudly stands twenty minutes from here – a fortified city filled with cultural landmarks. 

A picture of seclusion surrounded by pine trees, this modern villa invites you to hop in a sun-kissed infinity pool, then slip away to the bedroom balcony with a glass of rakija at sunset. One thing we love about this place is its private sauna, so you can feel your body unwind after busy day trips. Spoiled with pampering possibilities, perhaps you'll hire a professional chef to take over the kitchen while you soak your feet in the bathtub. Then, you can serve some local cuisine on the terrace and enjoy an alfresco supper.

Hugged by Pines

From the terrace of this beautiful old villa, you can see Lokrum Island floating off the coast of Dubrovnik in the Adriatic Sea. You’re right on the seafront here with nothing between you and the cliffs down to a secret sandy cove (Betina Cave Beach) but a private road. On top of this, it’s just a short drive or leisurely fifteen-minute stroll to the walls of Dubrovnik’s famous Old Town where narrow alleys are home to bars, restaurants and cafes galore.

Though you’d be forgiven for spending all your time at the villa itself. The terrace is home to an inviting swimming pool and a sunken, overflow Jacuzzi where you can soak with a cold drink in hand, looking out over the Adriatic Sea. Dine outdoors on the patio covered by a rustic wooden ceiling and lit by candelabra. Each terracotta-floored terrace is bursting with flowers in pots and the stone walls are draped with botanica making each balcony and outdoor lounge feel like an ancient Venetian’s holiday home.

The highlight inside has to be the conservatory-style lounge and dining room with a wall of glass windows looking out to the sea. In here, stone columns add a sense of grandeur. Across the entire home, you’ll find myriad lounges for the group to spread out, each just as lavish as the last. Bedrooms are luxurious as hotel suites with big beds and Jacuzzi tubs in the ensuites. 

Meet Me on the Terrace

A contemporary Croatian haven, this villa offers everything you might need for a relaxing break. It’s perched on the seafront just 7 kilometres from Dubrovnik, and even boasts direct sea access from a private beach plateau, where you can sunbathe in between dips. Of course, you’ll have a pool too, which overlooks the Adriatic. The views can be admired from inside and out, whether you’re eating a chef-prepared meal together in the open-plan living and dining space or soaking in one of the elegant bathtubs. The Finnish sauna is another great feature – relaxation comes easily here. 

Adriatic Atrium

A serene stay awaits you at this elegant villa. Built using traditional stone walls and wooden beams, it’s absolutely packed with character, with opulent touches in the candle chandeliers and ornate tiled floors that give it a luxurious feel. Originally built way back in the 16th century, it’s a villa that’s absolutely steeped in history, and was once monitored by the Croatian Institute for the Protection of Monuments because of its historical value to the town. We absolutely love the charming decor and artwork, that make this house feel like a real home.

You can start your day with a dip in your private outdoor hot tub to get the blood pumping, before having a rest in your swinging egg chair and listening to the world wake up. Tuck into delicious Croatian pastries for breakfast around your trendy dining set. Have a nap in the morning sunshine on one of the loungers. Cook up some Croatian kebabs on your barbecue for a tasty lunch. In the evenings, gather under your covered terrace to toast cocktails and enjoy conversations under the stars.

Based in the heart of Cavtat’s Old Town, you’ll be within easy reach of friendly restaurants and vibrant bars, where you can have a fantastic night out. You’re also close to many gorgeous beaches where you can enjoy a sea swim and sunbathe.
