In the sun-soaked village of Positano, this studio apartment is a peaceful idyll within walking distance of the lively shores of Positano Beach. Inside, it’s all crisp white and cobalt blue. Unwind on the loveseat with a cappuccino, basking in a salty breeze that drifts through the Juliet balcony doors. Put together a Caprese salad at the kitchenette then tuck in at the dining table. When you’re ready to explore, slather on your sunscreen and take a gentle stroll through the pastel-hued streets. 

Pick up trinkets in artisanal shops or laze in a seaside cafe. If your itinerary allows for it, take a trip over to charming Montepertuso and embark on one of many hiking routes. Return home in the early evening to watch dusk fall over the shambling rooftops with a tot of limoncello in hand. This Italian villa grabbed our attention for its front-row location on the Amalfi coast. You can enjoy spectacular sea views from the garden, balconies, and terraces, and you also have direct access to a private beach. Your host can provide breakfast to begin the day at a leisurely pace, and if you’re travelling with children, babysitter recommendations are available. There are lots of stairs to climb here, including a spiral staircase in the home, steep steps in the terraced garden, and steps to the private beach, so it won’t suit everyone. Location-wise, you’re in the pretty village of Conca dei Marini with many picturesque coastal towns, including popular Amalfi, within easy driving distance.

With stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, this studio-style apartment has a wonderful setting. We love the private terrace here – it’s the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. The interiors have a minimalist design, and the bathroom is modern and sleek with a walk-in chromotherapy rain shower and a bathtub. Set in San Montano, you’ll find a variety of shops and trattorias nearby, while Puolo Bay, renowned for its crystal-clear waters and picturesque coastline, is just under 3 kilometres away. Other attractions within an easy drive include the historic town of Sorrento, just over 5 kilometres from this home.

Location-wise, you're in the heart of Sorrento, just a short walk from the beach. You'll also be within easy reach of the port, with restaurants and bars on your doorstep – handy, as this pad doesn't come with a kitchen. The interiors are a little basic for our liking, but it's modern and there's a dedicated workspace. Plus, the freestanding tub is the perfect place to relax after busy days spent travelling.

How about waking up every morning of your holiday on the sun-soaked Amalfi Coast to the vast expanse of blue that is the Tyrrhenian Sea blending seamlessly with the periwinkle hue of the sky above it? Spending your days lounging on the coastline's classically glamorous beaches, where the hardest decision is which of the authentic trattorias to try for lunch today. And when evening rolls around? Slipping into something elegant for a pre-dinner Aperol Spritz on the balcony as the sun dips below the horizon, casting everything in a deep golden light that is unmistakably Italian. Then ambling into the picturesque town of Praiano for a dinner of freshly made pasta in unctuous sauces, freshly grilled fish and vegetables, or mouth-watering meat dishes. Sound good? Well, if it does, then this timeless holiday villa compiling two separate self-contained apartments within it might just be the perfect place to make those dreams a reality. 

Recently renovated to an exceptionally high standard without compromising any of its original charm, this home enjoys a privileged location in the hills overlooking Praiano – just above the famous San Genarro Church and offering panoramic vistas that take in both Positano and the island of Capri bobbing in the distance. 

The home itself is understated in the best possible way. Devoid of any over-the-top or flashy fixtures and fittings, it exudes an easy charm that's perfectly in keeping with its surroundings and the archetypal aesthetics of this part of Italy. Think terracotta tiles, majolica bathrooms, exposed stone and wood beam detailing, and expert placement of fine antiques alongside simpler modern pieces that fulfil a function, and ornate wrought iron balustrades. 

The first of the two apartments, sleeping up to four people in the double bed and on the sofabed in the living area, a fully-equipped kitchen with a spellbinding sea view, and two bathrooms (one en-suite and one separate). The second of the two, accessible only via external stairs, comprises a slightly larger kitchen – again with sea view – a living room, two double bedrooms and bathrooms.

The thing that really sets this home apart though, is that mesmerising view. Open your eyes each morning and be greeted by a sight that is sure to stay with you forever as the soft sounds of waves hitting the rocks below provide an atmospheric soundtrack.

When you think of Positano, you imagine the incredible views. You may have seen the Instagram posts about everyone trying to find the perfect view for sunset. Well, they're wasting their time – the best view in the city comes from the gorgeous terrace of your villa. But unlike the other popular spots, this view is reserved solely for you. 

Whether you're enjoying your morning coffee on the dining table or lounging on the sun beds, you're perfectly placed to admire the colourful houses and blue stretch of the sea. Of course, the best views are when the orange hues of sunset blend into the deep blue shades of the water. 

If you wander inside the villa, you'll find whitewashed tones and a neutral colour palette. Splashes of bright art is dotted around the villa, lacing the interior with a cheery, upbeat vibe.

When you fancy stretching your legs, you're only three minutes away from the beach. Small and cosy, it's an idyllic spot to lay your towel and catch some gentle rays of the sun. 

Please do note - to access the villa it is necessary to climb approximately 80 steps, however for a home like this it's certainly worth it.

Now, this is what we call a view. Perched above the Gulf of Salerno, this villa offers breathtaking scenery everywhere you look. Our favourite spot is the terrace, where a glass of wine complements the panoramas perfectly. There's also a private Jacuzzi that makes soaking under the stars a real treat. The interior design is simple but chic, though the main bedroom doesn't feel particularly private. And, while the kitchen is on the smaller side, you'll only be a five-minute walk from the eateries in Amalfi. That's pretty hard to beat.

The views over the Amalfi Coast from this home’s infinity pool and whirlpool are incredible. There are a variety of terraces for relaxing and alfresco dining, while inside this place, dating from the 15th century, there’s a traditional feel with beams and handmade tiles. There's an open fire in the living room for cooler evenings and all of the bedrooms are en-suite (two also have a private terrace). Situated in the oldest part of Amalfi, it’s just a short walk down the steps to the centre of the town or you can take one of two public lifts.

This home boasts truly breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast. It’s a short drive from Sorrento, with a path that leads directly from the villa to the village of Sant’Elia, through a beautiful valley. You’ll have everything you might need for a relaxing stay here, with a hot tub, private outdoor heated pool, and an alfresco dining space – your host can arrange for a chef to prepare Italian feasts. There’s also exercise equipment, should you fancy a work out – I think we'd prefer to unwind on a sun lounger, though. 

Sunkissed Sorrento

Peering over the Amalfi Coast, this postcard-worthy villa is the perfect Positano escape. With three terraces to choose from, you’ll start your day deliberating where to take breakfast – will it be at the bistro set under the magenta sprays of bougainvillaea or perhaps you’ll dine in the shade by the abundant lemon tree? Afternoons are for doing very little – lazing on a lounger with an ice-cold drink in hand, watching the boats bob on the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea. 

Inside, there’s a minimalist yet lively approach to the living space. Yellow patterned tiles are a counterpoint to the pristine white walls and we loved the homely feel of the antique cherry wood furniture. The bedrooms are comfortable and cheery and the brightly coloured bathrooms are sure to put a pep in your step in the mornings. 

When you’re ready to explore, Positano Beach is just a short walk from your doorstep and you’re within touching distance of restaurants, bars and independent shops. After a slap-up seafood dinner by the water, return to your abode to watch the sky swirl in pinks and purples as you sip an Aperol spritz.

Amalfi Postcard

With bedrooms overlooking Belvedere, this central apartment is only 100m from Duomo di Ravello and Villa Rufolo. Close enough to sights, bars and restaurants, it's made for those wanting to soak up all Italy has to offer. Though looking at the terrace, it's also made for sun worshippers. Dine alfresco and hot tub in a Mediterranean summer haze with a view of the Gardens of the Princess of Piedmont. Because of how traditional the home is, the rustic decor might not be to everyone's taste, but it is comfortable.

The Rose of Ravello

With impressive views across Napoli bay, this apartment makes it easy to experience the charm of Sorrento. You can sit back and relax on the private terrace and there’s plenty of space inside to socialise and stretch out. It’s worth noting some of the furnishings are a little dated, but it’s a great option for families and groups in search of simplicity and ease in a fantastic location. Outside, you can stroll to restaurants, cafes and shops. It’s also a great base for exploring nearby Pompeii and the Amalfi coast.



Song of Sorrento

In the heart of Sorrento, this apartment is perfectly positioned to explore the Amalfi Coast. Shops, restaurants, beaches, and the famous Piazza Tasso are all within easy strolling distance. However, with a sprawling roof terrace back home and sweeping views of the Gulf of Naples, it may be hard to pull yourself away. Everyone will adore the plunge pool (though it's only open seasonally), while the panoramic seating areas are perfect for sundowners. The interiors may be a bit dated, but this home has plenty of space inside and out for coastal relaxation.

This stunning home sits on a hillside along the Sorrento coast. It’s an old farmhouse that’s been converted into a beautiful holiday home, equipped with everything you might need for a relaxing break. In addition to the farmhouse, there’s a one-bedroom garden suite that’s ideal for a couple seeking more privacy. The villa looks out over the Gulf of Naples, Capri Island and the Mediterranean Sea – the views are breathtaking, particularly at sunset. We also love the gardens, which add to the sense of tranquillity.

The home’s outdoor area is fully furnished with two living areas, comfortable sun loungers, two dining tables and a BBQ area, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal or a cocktail while taking in the views. The place consists of two independent units – each has private access but both are connected to the garden area, meaning you can enjoy quiet moments to yourself or spend quality time with your loved ones. 

Located in a peaceful part of Praiano, this property is just a short walk away from sandy beaches and some of the town’s finest restaurants. The only question is, will you want to leave your villa?

The Sun Across the Gulf

Found in the west of Praiano where it lies about twenty minutes away from the bright orange umbrellas of One Fire Beach, this villa has a magnificent view out over the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Climb the steps up towards the villa and find a modern and comfortable home that boasts plenty of natural light, a crisp colour palette, and a beautiful collection of carefully selected tiles for a bit of a colour pop. There’s also a boho feel thanks to the warm, woody furniture and ample windows that keep that connection to the outdoors firmly in place. 

Go from your bedroom into the garden in moments as you escape through the doors – if you’re on the first floor, you’ll have an entire balcony to yourself and we recommend waking up before dawn, at least once, so you can watch the sunset from up there. Spend as much time as possible outdoors, swimming in the private pool, sunbathing in the sunloungers and enjoying snacks and drinks as you admire the view. 

When you’re not taking sunny days easy at home, you can spend them at any one of the beaches you’ll come across as you explore the coast, or find a tucked-away restaurant in Praiano.

Il Panorama

Enjoy a serene stay at this small but perfectly formed home, located in the heart of Positano, close to many fabulous restaurants and bars that make this coastal village so sought-after with travellers. This home’s crown jewel is in its marvellous large terrace, providing a stunning view out across the ocean, as well as plenty of places to relax in the sun and the shade – the swinging egg chair makes for a great place to sit with a good book, while the covered lounge area is fantastic for having a drink together and watching the sunset. There’s also sun loungers so you can work on your tan.

Inside, you’ll find a gorgeous blue and white colour scheme throughout to remind you of the sea, as well as little decor touches that make it feel like home. We love the country kitchen style dining table, ideal for feasting on tasty salads and pasta dishes – and the sofa and TV provide a nice place to chill out when you need a break from the sunshine.

Ready to venture out? You’ll find plenty to do right on your doorstep – you can enjoy wandering along idyllic winding paths and discovering quaint cafes and vibrant drinking spots – plus the metro station is just a stone’s throw away so you can travel beyond with ease if you choose to.


Blue Roses

There's a reason the Amalfi Coast is a hotspot among holidaymakers. The fifty-kilometre long stretch of shimmering beaches and technicolour villages looks straight out of a fairytale, with a balmy climate and delicious cuisine to solidify its appeal. In this colourful apartment, you'll be right in the thick of it. 

Located in a typical Italian building, the characterful home is of traditional style, with tiled flooring from the Vietri Ceramics School, while antique furniture and vintage artwork will transport you to the simpler times of this historical town. From your bedroom balconies, take in far-reaching views of neighbouring rooftops, rugged cliff faces and the landmark Duomo – you can reach this medieval cathedral in just three minutes on foot.

While you're out and about, wind your way towards the Ruga Nova Mercatorum, a narrow street is lined with top-tier pizzerias and eclectic boutiques. Get your eating and shopping fix before heading down to the shoreline, where you can while away the remainder of the day on the beach or take a ferry to nearby Sorrento.

Nestled within a lemon orchard, this stunning villa is practically hanging off the side of the Amalfi Coast. On the villa’s stepped terraces, the citrus scent of fresh lemons combines with sea salt as you enjoy uninterrupted views over the azure Tyrrhenian Sea. Walkways shaded by twisting grapevines, magenta bougainvillaea and wisteria bursting in purple clouds give way to panoramic views. You’ll find endless secluded spots for dining outdoors, or lounging in the sun. Inside, we were really taken by the hand-painted tiles in every room, bursting with blues, yellows and greens, and the hand-painted details like the decal in the shower, that feel distinctly Amalfi. Rather than facing the TV, the living room’s sofa points directly at the French windows and that incredible sea view and both main bedrooms have their own French windows for a view all to yourself. From the villa, it’s a short walk to the beach at the bottom of Maiori. Here, you can join the coastal walking path that links all the quintessentially Amalfi Coast villages. Or, head out in the car to the town of Amalfi, a fifteen-minute drive away.

From a tranquil location, you’ll enjoy private beach access, a swimming pool, and stunning views of Positano’s coastline. The terrace is a beautiful spot for alfresco dining, and you’ll have a private chef to whip up the freshest pasta. Inside, the inviting villa blends Italian charm and refined design. It’s elegant and attractive, with an indoor pool for even more vacation relaxation. 

Dolce Vita Dreaming

There's something rather magical about the view from this apartment nestled within a private park in Positano – ruggedly beautiful cliffsides peppered with dwellings part to reveal a burst of gloriously blue Tyrrhenian Sea and the uninterrupted skyline beyond. It makes for a charming backdrop while you soak up the sunshine or enjoy alfresco meals on the terrace.

Although the apartment itself lies on the smaller side of things, we're quite fond of the bright and contemporary design, particularly the sleek white galley kitchen and the fetching patterned tiling underfoot in the bedrooms. It's a home that's been owned by the same family for more than three decades, but you can certainly tell that it's received plenty of attention in recent years.

The local town of Positano itself isn't large, so most of the attractions are easily reachable on foot, including the golden sands of Spiaggia Grande Positano only 400 metres from the front door. In the wider area, those fond of a hike will appreciate the hilly terrain and walking routes found throughout the Amalfi Coast.

This contemporary villa boasts a serene position on Italy’s southwestern coast. It’s an easy stroll to the beach and down town Sorrento is just a fifteen-minute walk away. You’ll also find a great restaurant nearby, but we imagine you’ll love dining at home thanks to the outdoor kitchen and barbecue. There’s also a private pool and plenty of lounging spots, while the cool interior makes it easy to switch off after a day in the sun. Each of the bedrooms has direct access to the garden and there are en-suite bathrooms – adding a wonderful sense of privacy. 

Paradise Moon

For a couple on a romantic getaway, this charming apartment offers a dream love nest, with sweeping views over the magnificent scenery of the Amalfi Coast. While it is located in the heart of Praiano, it also benefits from being removed from the hustle and bustle, giving you a chance to relax and enjoy peace and tranquillity, away from the tourist trails. 

Come back after a day of exploring and unwind in the luxurious hot tub out on the large terrace. From here, you’ll be able to admire the sea and mountains before you, and as the sun begins to set, it truly is a magnificent spot to be. Share romantic meals and delectable Italian wine at the outdoor table and fire up the barbecue for a real alfresco feast.
 
Back inside, you’ll find a bright and elegant living room, with gorgeous Mediterranean details and a comfy sofa, ideal for snuggly evenings of movies. There’s also a dining area for enjoying indoor meals or catching up on any laptop duties you may have outstanding. The well-equipped kitchen may be compact but it’s perfect for rustling quick and delicious snacks. 

For a night of restful sleep and sweet dreams head over to the bedroom, where you’ll wake feeling reinvigorated and ready for another day of coastal adventures. 

Outside your pad, you'll be a short walk away from the many shops and restaurants, and the town's idyllic beaches are also within easy access. 

Path of the Gods 

Located only 3 kilometres from Amalfi town and around 800 metres from Il Duoglio Beach, this villa suits a family or group of friends seeking a sun-soaked holiday. The outside space was our favourite feature – we couldn’t get enough of the Tyrrhenian Sea views from the hot tub and the seating area. Inside, two bedrooms boast balcony access, and the third has its own terrace. Just so you know, you’ll need to descend 90 steps to reach the home.
