This Italian villa grabbed our attention for its front-row location on the Amalfi coast. You can enjoy spectacular sea views from the garden, balconies, and terraces, and you also have direct access to a private beach. Your host can provide breakfast to begin the day at a leisurely pace, and if you’re travelling with children, babysitter recommendations are available. There are lots of stairs to climb here, including a spiral staircase in the home, steep steps in the terraced garden, and steps to the private beach, so it won’t suit everyone. Location-wise, you’re in the pretty village of Conca dei Marini with many picturesque coastal towns, including popular Amalfi, within easy driving distance. 

The Magic of Amalfi

A twenty-minute stroll from the intimate cove of Marina di Praia, this pink villa has plenty of traditional charm to make you fall in love with Praiano. Right on your doorstep, you'll discover a trio of bars and restaurants serving excellent refreshments. For history lovers, we recommend visiting the 12th-century Church of San Luca Evangelista, which houses paintings by Giovanni Bernardo Lama.

From the moment you arrive, you'll be taken by the brick fireplace and arched ceilings inside this ancient farmhouse. Roll out of bed each morning feeling refreshed and step out onto your balcony, where you'll be met with spectacular sea views. Share a breakfast of ricotta pancakes with your loved ones and plan an outing around this dining table, then head out on the Amalfi Coast. When you return, open up a bottle of Italian wine and unwind in your private hot tub. Perhaps you'll want to keep things easy with a barbecue picnic on the lawn while the sun sets.

My Heart Has Wings

Boasting a prime location in Sorrento, this apartment is an excellent base for exploring the Amalfi Coast. It’s just a few minutes from Piazza Tasso and the marina – who fancies a boat trip to Capri? Situated on the top floor, it has a large terrace with stunning views of the Sorrento hillside and the Mediterranean Sea – it’s the perfect place to dine alfresco. Inside, there’s an open-plan dining and living area with floor-to-ceiling windows, so even those sleeping on the sofa bed will wake up to gorgeous vistas. 

Sorrento Skies

This rustic apartment, situated in the heart of Sorrento, is a delightful place to relax after a day of sightseeing along the Amalfi coast. Inside, expect a collection of vintage furnishings and plenty of mod-cons to make you feel right at home. When you’re not kicking back with a milky coffee on the cherry red Chesterfield, you’ll be out on the balcony, reclining on a lounger with a good book and soaking up unobstructed views of the rugged landscape. 

Take advantage of the warm weather and stroll through your locale. Watch the boats to and fro from the harbour before stretching out on Peter’s Beach. Weave through the winding streets of the old town then stop for lunch accompanied with a carafe of white wine in a no-nonsense eatery. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, catch the train to Pompeii for an archaeological experience you’ll never forget.

Love Affair

Nestled in the hills and surrounded by olive groves, this villa oozes tranquillity. Inside, traditional blends seamlessly with contemporary, while the chef-worthy kitchen will have you eager to cook. With that in mind, why not ask your host to arrange cooking classes or a pizza party on the private terrace, for a true taste of Italy? The outdoor space just about steals the show. With sun-kissed terraces, Mediterranean Sea views and a private pool, it’s easy to see why this home caught our eye. And if you can tear yourself away, you’ll find ​​the beaches of Nerano and the Punta Campanella path a scenic drive away. 

Mediterranean Blush

A short stroll from the sea, this characterful apartment places you in the heart of Sorrento’s historic centre. Inside, you’ll find an open-plan living and dining space alongside two generously sized double bedrooms — one featuring French doors that open onto a balcony, perfect for morning coffees. With a wealth of charming restaurants and shops right on your doorstep, plus easy access to the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii for day trips, this is an ideal base to soak up the region’s magic.

Sunny Sorrento

This elegant home boasts a wonderful position on the Sorrento Coast, offering stunning views of Capri, the Gulf of Naples, and Vesuvius. It’s 3 kilometres from Massa Lubrense and its shops and restaurants, in a glorious spot for hiking. The villa – perfect for large groups – has a private pool and terraces, where you can admire the views and enjoy the sunshine. There’s a children’s play area in the garden, and a grand piano in the living room. It’s a beautiful home, with bedrooms looking out to sea. You’ll never want to leave. 

Seafarer's Retreat

Nestled within a lemon orchard, this stunning villa is practically hanging off the side of the Amalfi Coast. On the villa’s stepped terraces, the citrus scent of fresh lemons combines with sea salt as you enjoy uninterrupted views over the azure Tyrrhenian Sea. Walkways shaded by twisting grapevines, magenta bougainvillaea and wisteria bursting in purple clouds give way to panoramic views. You’ll find endless secluded spots for dining outdoors, or lounging in the sun. Inside, we were really taken by the hand-painted tiles in every room, bursting with blues, yellows and greens, and the hand-painted details like the decal in the shower, that feel distinctly Amalfi. Rather than facing the TV, the living room’s sofa points directly at the French windows and that incredible sea view and both main bedrooms have their own French windows for a view all to yourself. From the villa, it’s a short walk to the beach at the bottom of Maiori. Here, you can join the coastal walking path that links all the quintessentially Amalfi Coast villages. Or, head out in the car to the town of Amalfi, a fifteen-minute drive away.  

Citrus & Sea Salt

Perched on a hill, this apartment serves as an excellent base for exploring the beautiful town of Sorrento. You'll find shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. It’s also easy to venture out to the Amalfi Coast, the island of Capri, and the historic site of Pompeii from this location. The apartment features an open-plan living space, ideal for unwinding after a busy day of sightseeing. There's also a small balcony that overlooks the town’s rooftops and green hills beyond. Speaking of views, one bedroom has a sea vista too. As an added bonus, you will have access to one of the host's resorts, which includes a pool (just over 10 kilometres away).

Built in 1866, this villa has been beautifully restored while retaining its historic charm; you can look forward to vaulted ceilings depicting scenes from Homer’s Odyssey, elegant furnishings, and stunning sea views. The villa is surrounded by 3 acres of lush gardens, parkland, and olive and lemon groves. The infinity pool looks out to the Gulf of Naples, Mount Vesuvius, and the islands of Ischia and Procida. 

Dreaming of Sorrento

Central, contemporary, and comfortable – this Sorrento apartment more than fits the bill. It's situated in the heart of the city, just a stone's throw from the coast, Piazza Tasso, and the city's bustling shops and eateries. Exploring on foot is a breeze here – a good thing, too, as parking isn't provided. As for the design back home, it has everything you'd want for a city break. There's a sleek (albeit somewhat small) kitchen, a modern living area with a sofa bed for the fifth guest, and a duo of bedrooms and bathrooms.
