This Italian villa grabbed our attention for its front-row location on the Amalfi coast. You can enjoy spectacular sea views from the garden, balconies, and terraces, and you also have direct access to a private beach. Your host can provide breakfast to begin the day at a leisurely pace, and if you’re travelling with children, babysitter recommendations are available. There are lots of stairs to climb here, including a spiral staircase in the home, steep steps in the terraced garden, and steps to the private beach, so it won’t suit everyone. Location-wise, you’re in the pretty village of Conca dei Marini with many picturesque coastal towns, including popular Amalfi, within easy driving distance.

With an absolutely breathtaking view of the Tyrrhenian Sea, this ancient villa couldn’t really be more of a complete package if it tried. Not only does waking up to the panoramic horizon inspire a great sense of relaxation, but the villa itself is pretty with its curving arches and many textures. 

Given its age, the home has seen its share of modernisation, but it has always been done in the most loving and sympathetic way to retain the original charm, and that character is certainly still visible. Picture yourself tucked away on the sofa with a good book, or at the dining table – with the doors flung open – as you catch up on the news with your morning cuppa. 

The only thing better than unwinding inside the home would be doing so outside. With plenty of space to sit, or sprawl out on the sunloungers, if you’d like, you can make yourself comfortable as you admire the glittering blue on the horizon. Take a dip in the plunge pool, dine alfresco, and watch the sunset with an evening cocktail. 

As two bedrooms can only be accessed via the garden, it sets large groups up perfectly so you can retain a sense of privacy but come together in the beautiful, and ample, breakout spaces.

Completely overhauled in 2021, your hosts have paid close attention to every detail to create an island escape that speaks to the soul. Hand-picked artwork, a well-equipped compact kitchen and two king-size en-suite bedrooms make this an ideal option for a family break, or a getaway with friends.

However, it's the outdoor terrace that steals the limelight. Shared between the apartment's two suites, there's more than enough space for everyone to spread out and claim a corner for themselves. With outdoor dining space, sun loungers and parasols, the scene is set for relaxing alfresco breakfasts, lazy days soaking up some sun, and romantic evening meals with the harbour lights twinkling away below.

Capri Town is only accessible on foot, with plenty of upmarket boutiques and mouthwatering restaurants within a short stroll. Nestled within a lemon orchard, this stunning villa is practically hanging off the side of the Amalfi Coast. On the villa’s stepped terraces, the citrus scent of fresh lemons combines with sea salt as you enjoy uninterrupted views over the azure Tyrrhenian Sea. Walkways shaded by twisting grapevines, magenta bougainvillaea and wisteria bursting in purple clouds give way to panoramic views. You’ll find endless secluded spots for dining outdoors, or lounging in the sun. Inside, we were really taken by the hand-painted tiles in every room, bursting with blues, yellows and greens, and the hand-painted details like the decal in the shower, that feel distinctly Amalfi. Rather than facing the TV, the living room’s sofa points directly at the French windows and that incredible sea view and both main bedrooms have their own French windows for a view all to yourself. From the villa, it’s a short walk to the beach at the bottom of Maiori. Here, you can join the coastal walking path that links all the quintessentially Amalfi Coast villages. Or, head out in the car to the town of Amalfi, a fifteen-minute drive away.

Nestled in the historic centre of Vibonati, this villa offers close proximity to Salerno’s main attractions, from the archeologic site of Paestum, Policastro and Sapri to the National Parc del Cilento. For history lovers, we recommend visiting the 12th-century Church of San Luca Evangelista, which houses paintings by Giovanni Bernardo Lama.

From the moment you arrive, you'll be taken by the brick fireplace and arched ceilings inside this ancient farmhouse. Roll out of bed each morning feeling refreshed and step out onto your balcony, where you'll be met with spectacular sea views. Share a breakfast of ricotta pancakes with your loved ones and plan an outing around this dining table, then head out on the Amalfi Coast. When you return, open up a bottle of Italian wine and unwind in your private hot tub. Perhaps you'll want to keep things easy with a barbecue picnic on the lawn while the sun sets.

Deep blues, sunshiney yellows – how can you not think of the sea when you see these shades? Taking inspiration from Sorrento's nearby harbour and rocky beach, the design of this second-floor apartment is as bright and cheery as the surrounding neighbourhood. There's no doubt it's stylish, but it's also packed with modern amenities that make your stay a dream, from rainfall showers to a kitchen where you'll love rustling up Italian feasts. We adore the quirky touches here, too – our favourite is the stone wall in the shower, which uses the rocky facade of the mountain. 

Did we mention the two sun-kissed balconies? Both offer excellent spots to breathe in the coastal breezes and bask in Sorrento's good weather. Whether you're dining alfresco under the shady parasol or sharing a bottle of Italian wine on the outdoor sofas, this is the place to sit back, relax and fall in love with Sorrento.

Location-wise, you can't do much better. Beaches, eateries and shops are all just steps away. Take a stroll along the postcard-pretty marina in the mornings, followed by lunch at a waterfront restaurant. Do some sightseeing in the historic centre in the afternoons, including a wander around Piazza Tasso and a stop off at the Cattedrale dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo. After a leisurely morning, head off to explore the town. A less beaten path than its neighbouring town of Positano, this is the place to be if you're looking for authentic Italian appeal. If you're seeking out some of the Amalfi Coast's best nature spots, make sure you add a hike on the 'Path of the Gods' to your itinerary, considered by many to be the best hiking trail in the area thanks to sweeping mountain views of the Mediterranean.

After a day of exploring, head home to relax in the outdoor hot tub, before indulging in a laid-back dinner cooked on the barbecue.

Spending your days lounging on the coastline's classically glamorous beaches, where the hardest decision is which of the authentic trattorias to try for lunch today. And when evening rolls around? Slipping into something elegant for a pre-dinner Aperol Spritz on the balcony as the sun dips below the horizon, casting everything in a deep golden light that is unmistakably Italian. Then ambling into the picturesque town of Praiano for a dinner of freshly made pasta in unctuous sauces, freshly grilled fish and vegetables, or mouth-watering meat dishes. Sound good? Well, if it does, then this timeless holiday villa compiling two separate self-contained apartments within it might just be the perfect place to make those dreams a reality. 

Recently renovated to an exceptionally high standard without compromising any of its original charm, this home enjoys a privileged location in the hills overlooking Praiano – just above the famous San Genarro Church and offering panoramic vistas that take in both Positano and the island of Capri bobbing in the distance. 

The home itself is understated in the best possible way. Devoid of any over-the-top or flashy fixtures and fittings, it exudes an easy charm that's perfectly in keeping with its surroundings and the archetypal aesthetics of this part of Italy. Think terracotta tiles, majolica bathrooms, exposed stone and wood beam detailing, and expert placement of fine antiques alongside simpler modern pieces that fulfil a function, and ornate wrought iron balustrades. 

The first of the two apartments, sleeping up to four people in the double bed and on the sofabed in the living area, a fully-equipped kitchen with a spellbinding sea view, and two bathrooms (one en-suite and one separate). The second of the two, accessible only via external stairs, comprises a slightly larger kitchen – again with sea view – a living room, two double bedrooms and bathrooms.

The thing that really sets this home apart though, is that mesmerising view. Open your eyes each morning and be greeted by a sight that is sure to stay with you forever as the soft sounds of waves hitting the rocks below provide an atmospheric soundtrack.

Along the Path of the Gods

Peering over the Amalfi Coast, this postcard-worthy villa is the perfect Positano escape. With three terraces to choose from, you’ll start your day deliberating where to take breakfast – will it be at the bistro set under the magenta sprays of bougainvillaea or perhaps you’ll dine in the shade by the abundant lemon tree? Afternoons are for doing very little – lazing on a lounger with an ice-cold drink in hand, watching the boats bob on the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea. 

Inside, there’s a minimalist yet lively approach to the living space. Yellow patterned tiles are a counterpoint to the pristine white walls and we loved the homely feel of the antique cherry wood furniture. The bedrooms are comfortable and cheery and the brightly coloured bathrooms are sure to put a pep in your step in the mornings. 

When you’re ready to explore, Positano Beach is just a short walk from your doorstep and you’re within touching distance of restaurants, bars and independent shops. After a slap-up seafood dinner by the water, return to your abode to watch the sky swirl in pinks and purples as you sip an Aperol spritz.

The coordinated decor makes for a calming space, whether you're in need of a restful night's sleep or an afternoon siesta. Of a morning, open the doors to a quaint and colourful garden terrace. Wrap your hands around a hot cup of coffee and breathe in the scent of the flowers for the perfect start to your day. 

Whilst this home has everything you will need, you’re also perfectly placed to explore the local area. Within walking distance is the stunning hamlet of Torca, where you’ll be greeted by the scent of authentic Italian cooking from local restaurants. All that’s left is to sample the local gelato.

Situated in the lively heart of Sorrento, you’ll be just a short stroll from Piazza Tasso and around 700 metres from a rocky beach. Within walking distance, you will find an array of shops, restaurants, and churches. You can easily explore the charming coastal towns of Amalfi and Positano by boat or bus, too. If you prefer to relax at home, there’s a small terrace with a table and chairs. Inside, we love the colourful interiors, especially the cactus-themed en-suite. This place would suit a family as the single bedroom is off the main bedroom and also at full capacity, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed. Otherwise, this is an ideal apartment for your Italian escape.

The property is a beautiful blend of the old and the new, with a stunning setting inside Cilento National Park and close to an ancient village. Also close to the foot of Monte Gelbison, the villa and its extensive outside space offer breathtaking views of the lush and dramatic surrounding scenery. There's also a separate pool house that provides flexible additional accommodation that makes The property ideal for larger groups.

The villa is composed of a beautifully-restored main property and two independent suites on the upper floors, boasting an array of original features. Many of these date back to at least 1870. The sense of history can be felt throughout the cosy rooms that boast an abundance of natural materials, such as stone walls and wood ceilings and floors.

On the ground floor is a charming living space with comfortable sofas, flat screen television and doors leading to the outside space. A wonderful library is full of English and Italian books and gives you the perfect excuse to while away a quiet few hours. The elegant dining room is adjacent to a well-equipped kitchen, making meal times easy and convenient.

Both of the two independent suites have their own living spaces, bedrooms and bathrooms, making them totally self-contained. One of the suites also has its own kitchenette, and the other enjoys terrace access.

The separate pool house is bright and modern, with a living room that features floor-to-ceiling glass patio doors that flood the space with light. They also give you direct access to the garden, outdoor dining area and swimming pool. There's also a small kitchen and two double bedrooms, each with a private bathroom.

All guests at The property can unwind within the beautiful and extensive outside space. Sit on the porch directly outside the main villa with a drink and take in views over the lovely garden. Further into the olive tree-dotted lawned garden is a patio area with outdoor dining for up to 10 people. An idyllic waterfall that flows into a small pond sits by a set of stone steps that take you down to the large, private swimming pool.

Scenic walks and hikes are on your doorstep at The property, as it's located within Cilento National Park and close to majestic Monte Gelbison. The park is also full of ancient sites to visit, such as the Greek temple of Paestum and the Greco-Roman remains of Velia. The picturesque medieval town of Novi Velia is around a 10-minute drive from the villa.

As well as mountain ranges and valleys being features of the immediate landscape, the coast is within easy reach too. Sandy beaches such as those at Marina di Ascea are less than 30 minutes away by car.

A five-minute stroll from the Piazza Tasso – a bustling intersection filled with charming bars and Italian restaurants, this deluxe apartment sits in the coastal resort town of Sorrento. If you don't feel like lazing 650 metres away on Peter's Beach, history enthusiasts may wish to visit the 14th-century Chiesa di San Francesco instead. Or, the Circumvesuviana train station lies just five minutes from your front door, so you can go further afield and journey into Naples.

From the moment you step inside this modern home, you'll want to kick your feet up in this yellow-accented living space. We adore how the open-plan layout is designed for spending quality time with your loved ones. Over your morning coffee, nibble on frittatas while making plans at this dining table. Ideal for remote working, get your head down at the bedroom desk before slipping out onto this sun-kissed balcony. Be sure to raise a glass of local wine to a happy holiday after a busy day of sightseeing.

Many a New Day

Located only 3 kilometres from Amalfi town and around 800 metres from Il Duoglio Beach, this villa suits a family or group of friends seeking a sun-soaked holiday. The outside space was our favourite feature – we couldn’t get enough of the Tyrrhenian Sea views from the hot tub and the seating area. Inside, two bedrooms boast balcony access, and the third has its own terrace. Just so you know, you’ll need to descend 90 steps to reach the home.

Tyrrhenian Jewel

This villa is a masterpiece on the hilltops of the Amalfi coast. It’s in the heart of Noccele village just 5 kilometres from Positano – you can walk there via the Path of Gods or hop on a direct bus to the city centre from the stop 300 metres away. There are a fair few steps to climb to reach the entrance of the home, but once there, you’re rewarded with incredible views of Positano below. The kitchen leads straight to an alfresco dining area, and the terrace flows around to the private infinity pool. You’ll even have access to a bar and wine cellar – this villa is a dreamy choice. 

Majestic Amalfi

Now, this is what we call a view. Perched above the Gulf of Salerno, this villa offers breathtaking scenery everywhere you look. Our favourite spot is the terrace, where a glass of wine complements the panoramas perfectly. There's also a private Jacuzzi that makes soaking under the stars a real treat. The interior design is simple but chic, though the main bedroom doesn't feel particularly private. And, while the kitchen is on the smaller side, you'll only be a five-minute walk from the eateries in Amalfi. That's pretty hard to beat.

This gorgeous villa is perched on the top floor of a 450-year-old mill. The mill has been carefully renovated over the years, but the home still packs in an impressive level of historic charm.

You’ll start to fall in love with this ivy-clad beauty as soon as you approach. It’s situated on the coastal road that connects Ravello and Amalfi, benefitting from the beautiful beaches of Amalfi and the artistic vibe of Ravello. It takes nine minutes to drive into Ravello, where you’ll find the lush terraced gardens the town is known for. The drive to Amalfi takes eleven minutes, so you can be sipping a chilled glass of wine while taking in the coastal view in no time. 

The main focal point of the villa is the huge terrace. Two of the three bedrooms lead directly onto it, so you might wake up to sunshine on your pillow. The terrace looks out over the rugged landscape, in a fantastical setting. Lying out on the sun loungers, you’ll feel a million miles away from your normal life. 

After breakfast on the terrace and a morning spent soaking up the sun, why not drive eight minutes to the beach at Atrani? Splash in the cool, clear sea before grabbing lunch at a nearby trattoria.

The views over the Amalfi Coast from this home’s infinity pool and whirlpool are incredible. There are a variety of terraces for relaxing and alfresco dining, while inside this place, dating from the 15th century, there’s a traditional feel with beams and handmade tiles. There's an open fire in the living room for cooler evenings and all of the bedrooms are en-suite (two also have a private terrace). Situated in the oldest part of Amalfi, it’s just a short walk down the steps to the centre of the town or you can take one of two public lifts.

You’ll find this charming home in the heart of Sorrento, giving easy access to Piazza Tasso, Corso Italia, and a whole host of eateries and shops. It’s worth noting that the bedroom is on a mezzanine level, and at full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa beds in the living room. We think this home is perfect for families who don’t mind sharing their space, or a couple. What it lacks in privacy, however, it makes up for in location. The Marina Piccola harbour is close by, offering hydrofoil services to Capri, Ischia and Procida, so exploring is a breeze.

Sorrento Gem

Right by the coast, this cosy apartment is perfect for a couple's retreat. The bathtub in the living area takes some getting used to, but you can't deny that its panoramas are fantastic, especially the glimpse of Capri. In fact, the vistas from every room are stunning, though we think the small balcony takes the cake for the best viewpoint. After all, nothing beats a glass of wine, some fresh air, and a seaside sunset. Ready to explore? Make the short drive to Sorrento or venture 200 metres to the nearby rocky beach.

The Capri View

This stunning villa is located in the heart of Capri, just a short walk from the famous Capri Piazzetta. The villa boasts panoramic views of the Gulf of Naples, Sorrento, and Punta Campanella. The grand terrace features quintessentially Caprese columns, olive trees, and a remarkable spot for lounging and alfresco dining – we spent all of our time outside. There’s even a petite outdoor kitchen. Inside, there’s a huge amount of space – the three suites each have a separate lounge area, which makes this a great choice for couples and families seeking a touch more privacy while still travelling as a group. 

Capri by the Sea

Located in the heart of Vibonati's historic centre, we find this large villa with stunning views of the area. With multiple living spaces, two kitchens and several en-suite bedrooms, it’s a great place to share with a large group of people. Though the traditional interior may not be to everyone’s taste, there’s everything you need here for a comfortable stay – including a private pool, as well as a barbecue area for alfresco dining. Surrounding the villa, there is an abundance of activities to explore, such as the archeologic site of Paestum and the coastal towns of Policastro and Sapri. 

Hear the Blues

There's something rather magical about the view from this apartment nestled within a private park in Positano – ruggedly beautiful cliffsides peppered with dwellings part to reveal a burst of gloriously blue Tyrrhenian Sea and the uninterrupted skyline beyond. It makes for a charming backdrop while you soak up the sunshine or enjoy alfresco meals on the terrace.

Although the apartment itself lies on the smaller side of things, we're quite fond of the bright and contemporary design, particularly the sleek white galley kitchen and the fetching patterned tiling underfoot in the bedrooms. It's a home that's been owned by the same family for more than three decades, but you can certainly tell that it's received plenty of attention in recent years.

The local town of Positano itself isn't large, so most of the attractions are easily reachable on foot, including the golden sands of Spiaggia Grande Positano only 400 metres from the front door. In the wider area, those fond of a hike will appreciate the hilly terrain and walking routes found throughout the Amalfi Coast.

Simply Unforgettable

There's a reason the Amalfi Coast is a hotspot among holidaymakers. The fifty-kilometre long stretch of shimmering beaches and technicolour villages looks straight out of a fairytale, with a balmy climate and delicious cuisine to solidify its appeal. In this colourful apartment, you'll be right in the thick of it. 

Located in a typical Italian building, the characterful home is of traditional style, with tiled flooring from the Vietri Ceramics School, while antique furniture and vintage artwork will transport you to the simpler times of this historical town. From your bedroom balconies, take in far-reaching views of neighbouring rooftops, rugged cliff faces and the landmark Duomo – you can reach this medieval cathedral in just three minutes on foot.

While you're out and about, wind your way towards the Ruga Nova Mercatorum, a narrow street is lined with top-tier pizzerias and eclectic boutiques. Get your eating and shopping fix before heading down to the shoreline, where you can while away the remainder of the day on the beach or take a ferry to nearby Sorrento.

Amalfi View

When you think of Positano, you imagine the incredible views. You may have seen the Instagram posts about everyone trying to find the perfect view for sunset. Well, they're wasting their time – the best view in the city comes from the gorgeous terrace of your villa. But unlike the other popular spots, this view is reserved solely for you. 

Whether you're enjoying your morning coffee on the dining table or lounging on the sun beds, you're perfectly placed to admire the colourful houses and blue stretch of the sea. Of course, the best views are when the orange hues of sunset blend into the deep blue shades of the water. 

If you wander inside the villa, you'll find whitewashed tones and a neutral colour palette. Splashes of bright art is dotted around the villa, lacing the interior with a cheery, upbeat vibe.

When you fancy stretching your legs, you're only three minutes away from the beach. Small and cosy, it's an idyllic spot to lay your towel and catch some gentle rays of the sun. 

Please do note - to access the villa it is necessary to climb approximately 80 steps, however for a home like this it's certainly worth it. 



Stairway To The Sea

Enjoy a serene stay at this small but perfectly formed home, located in the heart of Positano, close to many fabulous restaurants and bars that make this coastal village so sought-after with travellers. This home’s crown jewel is in its marvellous large terrace, providing a stunning view out across the ocean, as well as plenty of places to relax in the sun and the shade – the swinging egg chair makes for a great place to sit with a good book, while the covered lounge area is fantastic for having a drink together and watching the sunset. There’s also sun loungers so you can work on your tan.

Inside, you’ll find a gorgeous blue and white colour scheme throughout to remind you of the sea, as well as little decor touches that make it feel like home. We love the country kitchen style dining table, ideal for feasting on tasty salads and pasta dishes – and the sofa and TV provide a nice place to chill out when you need a break from the sunshine.

Ready to venture out? You’ll find plenty to do right on your doorstep – you can enjoy wandering along idyllic winding paths and discovering quaint cafes and vibrant drinking spots – plus the metro station is just a stone’s throw away so you can travel beyond with ease if you choose to.

You’ll have everything you might need for a relaxing stay here, with a hot tub, private outdoor heated pool, and an alfresco dining space – your host can arrange for a chef to prepare Italian feasts. There’s also exercise equipment, should you fancy a work out – I think we'd prefer to unwind on a sun lounger, though.
