Nestled within a lemon orchard, this stunning villa is practically hanging off the side of the Amalfi Coast. On the villa’s stepped terraces, the citrus scent of fresh lemons combines with sea salt as you enjoy uninterrupted views over the azure Tyrrhenian Sea. Walkways shaded by twisting grapevines, magenta bougainvillaea and wisteria bursting in purple clouds give way to panoramic views. You’ll find endless secluded spots for dining outdoors, or lounging in the sun. Inside, we were really taken by the hand-painted tiles in every room, bursting with blues, yellows and greens, and the hand-painted details like the decal in the shower, that feel distinctly Amalfi. Rather than facing the TV, the living room’s sofa points directly at the French windows and that incredible sea view and both main bedrooms have their own French windows for a view all to yourself. From the villa, it’s a short walk to the beach at the bottom of Maiori. Here, you can join the coastal walking path that links all the quintessentially Amalfi Coast villages. Or, head out in the car to the town of Amalfi, a fifteen-minute drive away.

This contemporary villa boasts a serene position on Italy’s southwestern coast. It’s an easy stroll to the beach and down town Sorrento is just a fifteen-minute walk away. You’ll also find a great restaurant nearby, but we imagine you’ll love dining at home thanks to the outdoor kitchen and barbecue. There’s also a private pool and plenty of lounging spots, while the cool interior makes it easy to switch off after a day in the sun. This Italian villa grabbed our attention for its front-row location on the Amalfi coast. You can enjoy spectacular sea views from the garden, balconies, and terraces, and you also have direct access to a private beach. Your host can provide breakfast to begin the day at a leisurely pace, and if you’re travelling with children, babysitter recommendations are available. There are lots of stairs to climb here, including a spiral staircase in the home, steep steps in the terraced garden, and steps to the private beach, so it won’t suit everyone. Location-wise, you’re in the pretty village of Conca dei Marini with many picturesque coastal towns, including popular Amalfi, within easy driving distance.

Afternoons are for doing very little – lazing on a lounger with an ice-cold drink in hand, watching the boats bob on the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea. 

Inside, there’s a minimalist yet lively approach to the living space. Yellow patterned tiles are a counterpoint to the pristine white walls and we loved the homely feel of the antique cherry wood furniture. The bedrooms are comfortable and cheery and the brightly coloured bathrooms are sure to put a pep in your step in the mornings. 

When you’re ready to explore, Positano Beach is just a short walk from your doorstep and you’re within touching distance of restaurants, bars and independent shops. After a slap-up seafood dinner by the water, return to your abode to watch the sky swirl in pinks and purples as you sip an Aperol spritz.

There's a reason the Amalfi Coast is a hotspot among holidaymakers. The fifty-kilometre long stretch of shimmering beaches and technicolour villages looks straight out of a fairytale, with a balmy climate and delicious cuisine to solidify its appeal. Inside this recently renovated apartment, French doors allow plenty of light in. Two of the double bedrooms have access to the main terrace, while the other double bedroom has doors to a smaller balcony, so you can walk straight out in the morning – how wonderful is that?

When you fancy exploring the area, it couldn’t be easier – the beautiful coastal town of Sorrento is a short drive away (it's also easily walkable if you prefer). Alternatively, have a wander around Sant'Agnello or bask on the sands of Spiaggia La Marinella, a short walk away. The train station is just 500 metres from this home, with services to Pompei, Ercolano and Naples, while buses link to many places of interest, including Paestum and the Royal Palace of Caserta.

Inside, the living space is just as sun-kissed as the exterior, with each bedroom offering access to the terrace. The third also has convient zip-and-link beds to suit both friends and families. Location-wise, you're a bit further from the centre here but still within easy reach of shops, restaurants, and landmarks. It's about a fifteen-minute walk to Corso Italia and twenty to the harbour – with that in mind, we suggest packing comfortable shoes.

It's situated in the heart of the city, just a stone's throw from the coast, Piazza Tasso, and the city's bustling shops and eateries. Exploring on foot is a breeze here – a good thing, too, as parking isn't provided. As for the design back home, it has everything you'd want for a city break. There's a sleek (albeit somewhat small) kitchen, a modern living area with a sofa bed for the fifth guest, and a duo of bedrooms and bathrooms.

The bathtub in the living area takes some getting used to, but you can't deny that its panoramas are fantastic, especially the glimpse of Capri. In fact, the vistas from every room are stunning, though we think the small balcony takes the cake for the best viewpoint. After all, nothing beats a glass of wine, some fresh air, and a seaside sunset. Ready to explore? Make the short drive to Sorrento or venture 200 metres to the nearby rocky beach.

We love the country kitchen style dining table, ideal for feasting on tasty salads and pasta dishes – and the sofa and TV provide a nice place to chill out when you need a break from the sunshine.

Ready to venture out? You’ll find plenty to do right on your doorstep – you can enjoy wandering along idyllic winding paths and discovering quaint cafes and vibrant drinking spots – plus the metro station is just a stone’s throw away so you can travel beyond with ease if you choose to.

From the moment you arrive, you'll be taken by the brick fireplace and arched ceilings inside this ancient farmhouse. Roll out of bed each morning feeling refreshed and step out onto your balcony, where you'll be met with spectacular sea views. Share a breakfast of ricotta pancakes with your loved ones and plan an outing around this dining table, then head out on the Amalfi Coast. When you return, open up a bottle of Italian wine and unwind in your private hot tub. Perhaps you'll want to keep things easy with a barbecue picnic on the lawn while the sun sets.

After a leisurely morning, head off to explore the town. A less beaten path than its neighbouring town of Positano, this is the place to be if you're looking for authentic Italian appeal. If you're seeking out some of the Amalfi Coast's best nature spots, make sure you add a hike on the 'Path of the Gods' to your itinerary, considered by many to be the best hiking trail in the area thanks to sweeping mountain views of the Mediterranean.

After a day of exploring, head home to relax in the outdoor hot tub, before indulging in a laid-back dinner cooked on the barbecue.

There's realistically only one thing we can start with when talking about this home and that's the gorgeous view of the Gulf of Naples that lies out of the main living area's huge window. Thankfully, these French doors open wide and the balcony lets you take in the coastal panorama with the sunlight on your skin. If you're still in need of another vantage point, guests also get access to a communal roof terrace with some seating on which to clink glasses while the sun sets in the background.

Right, enough about the scenery, because the apartment itself deserves some praise. There's an elegant simplicity to the design, with the whitewashed walls working well with the ample amounts of natural light, plus a minimalist kitchen ready and waiting for Italian feasts. We also like the ceramics collection arranged in alcoves in the hallways, which pay homage to the region's culture and heritage in chic fashion.

As you can tell by looking out the window, you don't have to venture far to find the beach – as a matter of fact, Spiaggia di San Montano is only 200 metres away. There are a few bars and restaurants in the local area, but for a wider choice along with some magnificent historic architecture, Sorrento is just a short drive away up the coastline.

Nestled in the historic centre of Vibonati, this villa offers close proximity to Salerno’s main attractions, from the archeologic site of Paestum, Policastro and Sapri to the National Parc del Cilento. When it comes to relaxing at home, however, you’ll have lots of outdoor space to enjoy – we love the private pool, BBQ area complete with a pizza oven (perfect for alfresco dinners) and the balconies that offer views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Several of the rooms feature multiple beds, making this the ideal home for those travelling with little ones who need to sleep in the same room as their parents.

Just a few steps from Piazza Tasso, this home is in a prime spot for exploring Sorrento. From shopping and sightseeing to sunbathing at Marina Grande (only 600 metres away), you'll be well-placed to get out and about. While there's no doubt we love the location, what we love even more is this home's array of outdoor spaces. The private garden's Jacuzzi is fantastic for unwinding, and the terrace's outdoor sofa and alfresco dining table are ideal for sundowners after supper. And though some parts inside are a tad dated, there's plenty of space for families and friends, even with a sofa bed for two.

Within walking distance, you will find an array of shops, restaurants, and churches. You can easily explore the charming coastal towns of Amalfi and Positano by boat or bus, too. If you prefer to relax at home, there’s a small terrace with a table and chairs. Inside, we love the colourful interiors, especially the cactus-themed en-suite. This place would suit a family as the single bedroom is off the main bedroom and also at full capacity, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed. Otherwise, this is an ideal apartment for your Italian escape.
