You’ll also find a great restaurant nearby, but we imagine you’ll love dining at home thanks to the outdoor kitchen and barbecue. There’s also a private pool and plenty of lounging spots, while the cool interior makes it easy to switch off after a day in the sun. Each of the bedrooms has direct access to the garden and there are en-suite bathrooms – adding a wonderful sense of privacy.

There's a sleek (albeit somewhat small) kitchen, a modern living area with a sofa bed for the fifth guest, and a duo of bedrooms and bathrooms.

Completely overhauled in 2021, your hosts have paid close attention to every detail to create an island escape that speaks to the soul. Hand-picked artwork, a well-equipped compact kitchen and two king-size en-suite bedrooms make this an ideal option for a family break, or a getaway with friends.

However, it's the outdoor terrace that steals the limelight. Shared between the apartment's two suites, there's more than enough space for everyone to spread out and claim a corner for themselves. With outdoor dining space, sun loungers and parasols, the scene is set for relaxing alfresco breakfasts, lazy days soaking up some sun, and romantic evening meals with the harbour lights twinkling away below.

Capri Town is only accessible on foot, with plenty of upmarket boutiques and mouthwatering restaurants within a short stroll. We adore the quirky touches here, too – our favourite is the stone wall in the shower, which uses the rocky facade of the mountain.

Whether you're dining alfresco under the shady parasol or sharing a bottle of Italian wine on the outdoor sofas, this is the place to sit back, relax and fall in love with Sorrento.

Location-wise, you can't do much better. Beaches, eateries and shops are all just steps away. Take a stroll along the postcard-pretty marina in the mornings, followed by lunch at a waterfront restaurant. After a leisurely morning, head off to explore the town. A less beaten path than its neighbouring town of Positano, this is the place to be if you're looking for authentic Italian appeal. If you're seeking out some of the Amalfi Coast's best nature spots, make sure you add a hike on the 'Path of the Gods' to your itinerary, considered by many to be the best hiking trail in the area thanks to sweeping mountain views of the Mediterranean.

After a day of exploring, head home to relax in the outdoor hot tub, before indulging in a laid-back dinner cooked on the barbecue.

Location-wise, you're a bit further from the centre here but still within easy reach of shops, restaurants, and landmarks. It's about a fifteen-minute walk to Corso Italia and twenty to the harbour – with that in mind, we suggest packing comfortable shoes.

When you fancy exploring the area, it couldn’t be easier – the beautiful coastal town of Sorrento is a short drive away (it's also easily walkable if you prefer). Alternatively, have a wander around Sant'Agnello or bask on the sands of Spiaggia La Marinella, a short walk away. The train station is just 500 metres from this home, with services to Pompei, Ercolano and Naples, while buses link to many places of interest, including Paestum and the Royal Palace of Caserta.

This Italian villa grabbed our attention for its front-row location on the Amalfi coast. You can enjoy spectacular sea views from the garden, balconies, and terraces, and you also have direct access to a private beach. Your host can provide breakfast to begin the day at a leisurely pace, and if you’re travelling with children, babysitter recommendations are available. There are lots of stairs to climb here, including a spiral staircase in the home, steep steps in the terraced garden, and steps to the private beach, so it won’t suit everyone. Location-wise, you’re in the pretty village of Conca dei Marini with many picturesque coastal towns, including popular Amalfi, within easy driving distance.

Recently renovated to an exceptionally high standard without compromising any of its original charm, this home enjoys a privileged location in the hills overlooking Praiano – just above the famous San Genarro Church and offering panoramic vistas that take in both Positano and the island of Capri bobbing in the distance. 

The home itself is understated in the best possible way. Devoid of any over-the-top or flashy fixtures and fittings, it exudes an easy charm that's perfectly in keeping with its surroundings and the archetypal aesthetics of this part of Italy. Think terracotta tiles, majolica bathrooms, exposed stone and wood beam detailing, and expert placement of fine antiques alongside simpler modern pieces that fulfil a function, and ornate wrought iron balustrades. 

The first of the two apartments, sleeping up to four people in the double bed and on the sofabed in the living area, a fully-equipped kitchen with a spellbinding sea view, and two bathrooms (one en-suite and one separate). The second of the two, accessible only via external stairs, comprises a slightly larger kitchen – again with sea view – a living room, two double bedrooms and bathrooms.

The open-plan living, dining and kitchen space is the heart of the home, though you’ll likely spend most of your time on the terrace – it’s a marvellous spot for soaking up the sun and admiring the views. Two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in bedroom three, so they’ll still have their privacy.
