With jaw-dropping frescoes and standout designer interiors, it’s no wonder this central Florentine apartment has graced the pages of the decor bible, Architectural Digest. Delivering split-level living with a huge open plan living and kitchen area taking centre stage, you’d hardly believe this home is designed just for two. If we were being picky, the bed feels a little big for the bedroom – but a dressing room and two bathrooms more than make up for that. Set in the heart of historic Santa Croche, it’s surprisingly quiet here. But when you’re ready to dive into the city’s bustle, all the hotspots, including the mighty Accademia Galleries and Basilica of Santa Croce, are just a stroll away.

Divine Vista

Under the soft gaze of Florence’s historic buildings and surrounded by olive trees, this home feels like a calm oasis in the heart of the city. It’s a wonderful setting for friends and families to relax, whilst also enjoying the close proximity to the iconic sights and monuments.  

Stepping inside, you’ll want to pause and savour the unique presence of this apartment – it’s a traditional space filled with personal details that add warmth and character. And whether you’re preparing drinks in the kitchen, enjoying the warm breeze on the terrace or gathering around the table, this home is designed to enjoy the beauty of Italian living. 

Outside, you can wander through the Piazza d’Azeglio and on through the majestic city streets to the Cathedral of Santa Maria – only a twenty–minute walk away. You’ll also find the beautiful market of Sant’Ambrogio is just a five–minute walk from this home – this is a wonderful spot to mingle with locals and sample traditional delicacies.

The floor-to-ceiling windows in the living space look directly out onto the River Arno and the famous Ponte Vecchio – an outstanding feat of engineering from Europe’s Middle Ages. You’re that close, you can hear the water rushing underneath the stone from your private balcony. The interiors are modest but comfortable and do well not to distract you from the fantastic vistas. Set up a traditional Italian breakfast at the dining table and watch daybreak over the water, then finish your coffee on the comfy couch as you put the finishing touches to your Florentine checklist. Take the short, ten-minute stroll across the bridge to the heart of the city where the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Bargello National Museum are an afternoon well spent. Enjoy a pit stop in the bustling Piazza della Repubblica before continuing on to the Accademia Gallery, the proud home of Michelangelo’s David.

The Old Ford

Our favourite spot, however, is the private terrace overlooking the Arno, the San Niccolò district and the Oltrarno hills. Start your mornings here over coffee while listening to the river’s whispers or end evenings with a spritz at sundown before discovering the local dining scene. 
 
Speaking of exploring, you're spoilt for choice when it comes to cultural hotspots nearby with the Uffizi Gallery a seven-minute walk, Ponte Vecchio a nine-minute stroll and the famous Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore thirteen minutes away on foot. 


Arno Poetry

You’ll find this sleek pad in the heart of Florence, just a short walk from the Duomo, Santa Maria Novella train station, Piazza della Repubblica, and Palazzo Vecchio. Ideal as a base for sightseeing in the city, this home promises a serene stay and is perfect for families and friends alike – so long as two people don’t mind sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room. The home, on the sixth floor with a working elevator – rare in Florence – might not be revolutionary, and the kitchen is small, but it is comfortable, and the view of the river and Duomo is a nice touch.

Back at home, the living room lends itself perfectly to evening drinks, while the bedrooms (all of which have an en-suite bathroom) make it easy to unwind. Guests can also enjoy access to a shared gym and terrace.

It’s hard to beat the location of this apartment, which is in the heart of Florence. The city’s main square, Piazza della Signoria, is just moments away, and you’ll also be a short walk from landmarks like Florence Cathedral (also known as the Duomo) and the Uffizi Galleries (an art-lover’s dream). With its high ceilings and wooden beams, this two-bedroom apartment blends character and comfort. There's a kitchen for cooking at home, however with so many restaurants right nearby, you can take a break from cooking if you prefer. It makes a great base for exploring – just remember to pack a comfortable pair of sightseeing shoes.
