This traditional Tuscan villa has been split into three apartments, making it an ideal base for a group looking to holiday together yet still enjoy some private time. That said, the outdoor space will naturally draw everyone together. With a private pool, sun-drenched terraces, alfresco dining opportunities and views across the olive groves of the Serchio Valley, it’s sure to be a popular spot with all. A car is necessary here, but that makes it all the easier to take day trips to Lucca, Pisa, or Florence. 

Tuscan Glow

This sleek and modern stonehouse is perched on the hillside of Corniglia, one of the Cinque Terre localities. Surrounded by a thousand square metres of olive trees, lemon, and orange groves, it offers panoramic views of the Ligurian Sea below. Spend your days exploring coastal trails, charming Cinque Terre villages, and sandy beaches. In the evening, fire up the barbecue for dinner in the outdoor kitchen and dining area, or stroll into Corniglia to sample local dishes at one of its excellent restaurants, just a short walk up the hillside.

Cool View

Tucked away in the Ligurian countryside that borders Tuscany, this home will scratch that itch for a rural Italian escape. This rustic villa has gorgeous gardens and a pool that looks out over the Apuan Alps and the surrounding forest, and is in a great spot for hiking and cycling. Though the decor won't be to everyone's taste, with a main house and a separate guest house, it’s an excellent choice for a couple of families looking to holiday together without crowding each other. There’s even a swing and slide, so little ones can tire themselves out while the grown-ups relax. 

Mountain & Forest

This apartment offers a contemporary sanctuary in the heart of Lucca’s medieval streets. There’s a cosy living room, a dining room and all the home comforts you could need to settle in and unwind. All three of the bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms and the main bedroom is tucked away on the second floor for optimum privacy. It’s worth noting the building does not have a lift, but it’s a great option for families and groups in search of ease and comfort in a fantastic location. Outside, you can soak in timeless Italian charm while wandering to local restaurants, cafes and iconic sights. 


Bianca Bellezza

In the heart of historic Lucca, this apartment could not be better located. It's the perfect base for sightseeing, as you'll have all the landmarks, plus an array of shops and eateries, practically on your doorstep. Back home, the style is equal parts comfortable and chic. We love the mix of old-world decor with contemporary comforts. You'll have everything you'll need to feel at home, from a well-appointed kitchen to air conditioning in the bedrooms. Topping it all off is the private terrace, the perfect spot to perch with a glass of Tuscan wine as the sun goes down.

Lady Lucca

This home caught our eye for its sea views across the Gulf of Tigullio. And even when you’re indoors, you can still enjoy the water vistas from the living area and some of the bedrooms. We love the outdoor space here, which is well set up for lazy days by the pool and alfresco dining. Hikers will be pleased to hear that there are coastal walks aplenty nearby, and for days at the beach, you’ll find a choice of seaside towns within driving distance. We think this home provides the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway with family or friends – just note that not every room has air conditioning. 


Your Coastal Retreat

Finding an exquisite palazzo in the heart of Lucca’s walled city is special. To bag a place with a garden and terrace to boot? Now that's a rare thing. Inside, the design-savvy interiors are impressive, and there’s heaps of space to spill out across the three bedrooms, each offering a private bathroom. It’s worth noting this home does not accept children under eight years old – so you’ll need to leave little ones at home for this Tuscan adventure. Location-wise, all the iconic landmarks are just a stroll away. The only thing this home is missing is private parking (not uncommon in Lucca). But with street parking close by, we can let that slide.

The Rose & The Palazzo

Overlooking the waters of Porto Venere Harbour and just a flip-flop from a small beach, this traditional home is the perfect maritime retreat. You can watch all the nautical action unfold from your bougainvillea-clad balcony. Or take a ten-minute amble along the coast to the village’s history-rich centre – it’s been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site for good reason. While the coastal-themed interiors are charming, they will feel dated for some. The bedroom layouts are a little quirky, too, with the main bedroom sleeping three and the final single bed tucked away in the hallway. But we can let that slide for a home with such a one-of-a-kind setting.

Maritime Retreat

This fairy tale tower is the perfect place for a unique, romantic getaway. Located in picturesque Porto Venere, you’ll have four floors to yourselves here, including a roof terrace with sea views. The stone tower, which dates back to 1161, boasts a marble dining table – perfect for pasta for two – a Jacuzzi bathtub, and a wine cellar. To make your stay even more special, your host provides breakfast and can help arrange a variety of treats, such as a private chef to cook for you at home. The tower is a destination in itself, but if you can tear yourselves away, you’ll find a pretty harbour, Medieval buildings, and a viewpoint overlooking the Ligurian Sea nearby.

Tower Retreat

Perched on a hilltop above Santa Margherita Ligure, this villa puts you on the route of the Cinque Terre – five towns that cluster rainbow-bright around coves and harbours. It’s a six-minute walk into the charming town centre for meals on the waterfront, just remember it’s a steep walk back up the hill. But the views are worth it – gaze out over the rooftops and shimmering sea from the sprawling terrace. It’s all about dining, reclining and unwinding in the pool or hot tub out here. Two kitchens (one indoors and one covered outdoors) will keep the chef of the group happy and sliding open the glass doors blends the terrace with the huge, open living room. 

The Hillside Garden

This stunning holiday home is perfectly positioned in Lido di Camaiore, just moments from the beach. It’s an attractive, modern home-from-home, beautifully decorated in peaceful neutral tones. We love how bright and welcoming this contemporary home is, despite the elegance. Outside, the garden is framed by hedges and palm trees, making it a pretty oasis. Best of all, there’s a Jacuzzi to relax in. There’s also an alfresco dining space – what could be better than dining under the stars before a dip in the Jacuzzi? 

Tropical Palms

As you come in from the dazzling streets of Lucca, this home is the perfect continuation of your adventures. The decor is a perfect pairing of classic Italian style with sleek, modern features. Follow the beautiful 20th-century tiled floors through the grand hallway and into the generous living room, where you’ll find bursts of colour at every corner. There are plenty of lounging areas to choose from, whether you want to soak up the sun on the chaise window seat or luxuriate on the L-shaped sofa. 

While there is a wide selection of dining options in town, including a Michelin-starred restaurant across the road, you can also get inspired by the local markets and prepare a casual dinner at home to enjoy out on your private terrace. As the sun goes down and the night air comes in, head inside and tuck into the cosy beds so you can wake up to the Tuscan sunrise at your window.
