You'll find it in the picturesque town of Ossuccio, peacefully perched on the shores of Lake Como and surrounded by a pretty cluster of pastel-hued homes. Here, you're in a prime location for exploring the region, with Downtown Como a thirty-minute drive away. Closer to home, take a twenty-minute stroll to Villa del Balbianello and admire its stunning terraced gardens.

Though compact, this home promises comfort through thoughtful design and contemporary decor. Inside, a timeless canvas of white walls, hardwood floors and heaps of natural light create a peaceful and inviting ambience, beckoning you to relax in the splendour of your surroundings. We love the open-plan living space, with its cosy dining nook and sleek, fully-fitted kitchen. Though the real treat is the private terrace, offering uninterrupted lakeside views. Spend your days here, basking in the sun, and come sunset, settle around the alfresco dining table for a candle-lit dinner under the stars.

Love At First Sight

This apartment is New-York-style loft living in the centre of Como. It’s brimming with inspiration for creative types, from the picturesque surroundings of Lake Como (easily explored by water taxi) to the architecturally marvellous interior. The open bathroom won’t be for everyone – with a huge rainfall shower in the centre of the open loft and a spa-like bath enclosed. But there’s a standard shower room with a door for those who prefer privacy. It feels like an old warehouse in the vast, open living space with a sleek chrome kitchen, banquet-sized dining table and desks to work remotely. Art and books take centre stage, strewn about the room with a TV on the floor like an afterthought. 

A Composition in Concrete

This home is sure to impress. The neo-classical villa stands just 1 kilometre from the village of Argegno, between Menaggio and Laglio. The shores of Lake Como are 1 kilometre away too. You can look forward to fantastic views of the lake, stretching from Bellagio in the north to Nesso in the south. We love the salt-water swimming pool, and the pretty gardens. There’s heaps of room here so this is a great choice for large groups. Your host can help you take your relaxation to the next level by arranging a private chef, along with lots of other services. 

The Magnificent Moon

It's fair to say that Lake Como isn't exactly short of awe-inspiring views, but the panorama enjoyed from this home's terrace is nothing short of sensational. Thanks to the prime position six hundred metres above the banks, guests are treated to a sweeping vista of the sparkling lake, verdant hillside, clusters of villages and a huge expanse of sky.

It says a lot about this home — a tower dating back to the end of the eighteenth century — that this isn't the only standout feature. Staying outside, there's a long swimming pool and a spa tub, plus plenty of loungers for soaking up the sunshine. If the weather's kind — which it all too often is here — there's no excuse not to fire up the barbecue and serve up something grilled to perfection for dinner.

Inside, there's certainly a rustic feel to the design, thanks to the wooden ceiling beams and terracotta tiles underfoot, but there are plenty of modern amenities to be found, too. There's also a pool table if you want to challenge a family member or friend.

The surrounding medieval village of Palanzo is as authentic as you could wish for, all narrow alleys, stone houses and even a small restaurant. The lake itself can be reached in around fifteen minutes' drive, while the city of Como takes half an hour.



Tower of Power

This elegant historic villa stands on the shores of Lake Como, just a short drive from Bellagio. The fantastic lakeside location makes it perfect for exploring, whether by private boat or using public ferries. The villa is spread over three floors, with plenty of space for a large group – there’s even a sauna and a games room. We love the private pool, which sits amid the centuries-old trees of the pretty gardens. When the sun starts to lower in the sky, fire up the barbecue and feast alfresco looking out at the lake. Bliss. 

The Dream Castle

The views of Lake Como from this home are simply gorgeous – we could sit on the balcony here gazing out over the gently rippling water to the mountains for hours. You can enjoy the incredible vistas from the terrace too, where you can relax on the sun loungers or dine alfresco. Whip up some tortelli di zucca in the sleek, dove grey kitchen for dinner. On chilly evenings gather around the fire or get some rest in the stylish bedrooms with their ornate wallpaper. 

Situated in Argegno, there are a range of eateries within a five-minute walk. Further afield, the alpine city of Lecco, with its splendid Basilica di San Nicolò, is eleven minutes in the car. Or walk the trails of the stunning Monte Barro Regional Park, a sixteen-minute drive from this lovely home.



Watching The Boats Go By

This home takes its cues from its peaceful setting, surrounded by the idyllic natural beauty of Lake Como. The influence of the clear sky and the rippling waters that reflect it takes shape inside, where bold cornflower blue makes more than just a cameo appearance – it’s the prima donna. The furnishings are simple yet elegant, a marriage of old-world design and contemporary minimalism. While we love the dedicated dining corner, we’re sure you’ll want to spend lots of time outdoors in the plentiful Italian sunshine. Here you’ll find a generously sized balcony with a front-row ticket to gorgeous views of the lake for you to admire while sharing antipasti and drinking Negronis. Even though you’re wonderfully secluded here, it won’t be hard to reach Como’s city, just a short drive or bus ride away, where you can explore the pizza restaurants, cafes and bars or try your hand at water sports.

Bella Blue

With its Cubist-inspired interiors and signature furniture pieces, this home could be plucked straight from the pages of an interiors glossy. It's an impressive space, with green views of the mountains from the small but charming balcony. The only slight let down is the double sofa bed in the second bedroom – fine for a short stay, but it won't suit everyone. However, the two separate bathrooms and desk will be handy, as will the private garage parking should you plan to drive. Not that you'll need to. The Old Town, bustling with bakeries, cafes and restaurants, is just a stroll away.

Wake up with the lake’s dancing reflections on your bedroom ceiling before stepping out onto the upper garden for a revitalising, morning yoga session, taking in the Breva winds. Or, arrange a picturesque boat tour up to Bellagio for a day winding around the cobbled lanes, a cultural stop exploring the gardens of Villa Serbelloni Park and a lakefront lunch at Ristorante Terrazza Barchetta.

Golden Mile Rock

With its feet right on the banks of Lake Como, this modern and fuss-free apartment is as close to the water you can get. Your mornings will begin on the balcony, with a cappuccino and flaky pastry, or on the shingle of your private beach to watch boats cut through the gentle waves. 

After soaking up the sunshine from a lounger, nip back inside to cool off with a glass of something refreshing in the fuss-free living space. Pick the comfiest spot on the sofa or pull up a chair at the dining table – the minimalist furnishings have been carefully positioned to ensure you won’t miss a second of the stunning vistas. 

If you feel like exploring, charming Bellagio is a twenty-three-minute drive away. Weave through the tangle of cobbled streets, dipping in and out of artisanal boutiques before stopping for an Aperol in waterfront bars to catch the sunset.

Gentle Waves

One glance at those Lake Como views and you'll fall in love with this cosy and romantic flat. There's nothing better than sitting around the dining table, sipping wine, nibbling on antipasti and watching the water ebb and flow out the window. Later on, snuggle up on the cushy sofas with a book or get comfortable in the bedrooms, resting up for an adventure-filled day. The design is a delightful mishmash of mid-century modern, classic Italian character and clean, contemporary style. Nestled in the heart of Varenna, this apartment oozes elegance with marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and views over San Giorgio Square. You’ll need to climb stairs to this first-floor home, and there’s no air conditioning here, but step out onto the private terrace and you’ll feel the warm Italian breeze. Location-wise, you’ll see why this apartment caught our eye. Within walking distance of Lake Como, the sandy shores of Molo di Sotto beach, and a plethora of shops and Italian eateries, there’s plenty to occupy your time here.
