Right in the centre of Milan, this sleek city pad is aimed at anyone from business travellers to couples, fashionistas to tourists. Smart and modern, it's designed for easy living. All you have to do is unpack and head straight out into the bustling streets, filled with designer boutiques and upmarket eateries. Just a few minutes on foot from Duomo Milan and Palazzo Reale, you couldn't be better placed for all the sights.

Inside, neutral tones and slick Italian furnishings give the place a high-end feel, with floor-to-ceiling windows filling the open-plan living space and cosy bedroom with natural light. If you're here on business, there's a workspace at the table and a minibar provides drinks and snacks. 



Heart of Fashion

This central apartment is a superb base for two in Milan. It’s a chic and comfortable home-from-home with access to a marvellous terrace – the views of the Duomo are incredible. The apartment is petite and comfortable, though we’d recommend dining out – the kitchenette is a bit too limited for preparing full meals. Luckily, your location just a short stroll from Piazza del Duomo means that there are plenty of local restaurants and bars nearby. 

La Gioia

Located just a ten-minute walk from Viale Monte Nero and Piazza Cinque Giornate and fifteen minutes from Porta Romana Metro Station, this studio apartment puts you close to the action. While you may have to hop on the metro to explore further afield, you'll still be near many of the city's attractions, including shops and restaurants. Storage space is lacking and the kitchenette is small – however, we like the views of the internal courtyard and the selection of teas and coffees is a nice touch. Although it's far from being the fanciest in our collection, it provides a fuss-free base to explore the sights of Milan.

Citrus Burst

Just a twenty-minute tram ride from Milan's city centre and the famous Duomo, this apartment is conveniently placed. You'll find parks, pizzerias and shops in the local neighbourhood, with a supermarket downstairs for basic essentials. Bear in mind that this is a small apartment so space is limited and there's no WiFi here. That said, the apartment offers a desk if you need to catch up on work and the kitchenette is ideal for preparing light bites. So, if a well-connected location is your number one priority, this compact pad will do nicely. 

Shade & Sun

Straightforward in design, this apartment has everything you need for a short break. The hotel-quality bed makes lie-ins ever so tempting, and the terrace boasts some of the best views in the city – sip a glass of Italian wine and watch the Duomo light up after dusk. You won’t find a kitchen here, although we don’t think you’ll mind too much as there is no shortage of dining options on your doorstep. Getting around the city couldn’t be easier – metro and tram stops are within easy walking distance.

Duomo Delight

Walk through the elegant lobby of this hotel and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a beautiful gallery filled with interesting textures, modern designs and artwork by contemporary Italian artists. Once you arrive at your comfortable room, you’ll be just as charmed by its pared-back minimalist decor in an elegantly neutral palette. Though compact, you’ve got everything you need for a fuss-free stay, including a comfortable bed, a desk space for any work-from-home needs, as well as a rainfall shower that all but guarantees to get days started on a relaxing note. And while there’s no lounge space or kitchen here, you’ve got endless dining options to choose from on your doorstep. Ossobuco and cotoletta, anyone?

Your central location in Milan’s Centro Storico means you’ve got a wealth of cultural hotspots to explore nearby, not least of all the Duomo di Milano, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the Teatro alla Scala and the Palazzo Reale di Milano. After a day of exploring, come back home to enjoy a drink on the communal patio before discovering the delights of Milan's buzzing nightlife.

Giulia

In Milan's Città Studi district, this stylish ground-floor loft is ideal for a solo traveller or a couple. The bed is up on a mezzanine level so you'll need to climb stairs, and there is the potential for some outside noise, but some simple workout equipment is provided and the kitchen is well-equipped for cooking up whatever you like. The only parking available here is paid, but the location more than makes up for this. You'll find an array of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance, and there are excellent public transport links nearby for traversing the city.

Iconic Trainer

Bigger isn't always better, and at this stylish home in a particularly nice part of the Scalo di Porta Romana neighbourhood, you'll be enchanted by its clever use of space and chic minimalism. Set on the ground floor, and with a typically high ceiling creating a mezzanine floor for the bedroom, it's dazzlingly white, and filled with fascinating art and quirky furnishings.

The part-time home of a fine arts teacher, it's designed with simplicity and style in mind. We love the sofa made from a base of pallets, along with the comfy dining spot and the practical kitchen. And although the climb up to the bedroom is not for the faint of heart, it's a serene space, perfect for reading. 

Surrounded by shops, cafes and good restaurants, there's more than enough to enjoy on your doorstep. Fondazione Prada, home to a world-famous contemporary art collection is a ten-minute walk from your door. The building itself is a work of art, converted from a century-old distillery into a modern-day marvel. Even the café Bar Luce is something to behold, designed by renowned film director Wes Anderson. But all that said, if it's the big attractions of the city you're after, you're just a six-minute walk from Brenta metro station, and a seven minute walk from Lodi for an easy ride into the centre of town.

Easy Ranger

A sensorial stay with homespun design, an eclectic collection of antiques and knockout views across Milan, this apartment is certainly one to remember. It’s only right to begin with the terrace – your own private jungle with dining set for sun-soaked breakfasts and glasses of wine in the early evening as the basilicas glow in the hopelessly romantic dusk. Before you get to know your surroundings, peruse the shelves of curiosities or get comfortable on the sofa and flick through a hardback book pulled from your host’s collection. The Duomo, Royal Palace and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II are on your doorstep and the apartment is a minute from the Missori metro stop should you want to explore further afield. When dinner time rolls around, we recommend taking the fifteen-minute stroll to the romantic Brera neighbourhood for stylish restaurants and old-school osterie. 

Walls of Shekvati

The concept of being small but mighty is a horrible cliche and one that we won’t use to describe Lovage. However, we must admit that we didn’t expect a place as small as this to be quite so charming. You can’t get away without mentioning the view. Unremarkable in one direction, but turn the other way and the Torre Velasca looms up. And inside, despite the diminutive footprint, it doesn’t feel too cramped, and the kitchen is far more than an afterthought.


Lovage

Step into a world of jungle bliss at this tropical home in Milan’s hip Isola neighbourhood. Housed in a former mattress factory dating back to the 1930s, there are still traces of this home’s quirky past hidden amongst its plants’ tangle of fronds, including exposed brick walls, cast iron radiators, cement floors and beautiful beamed ceilings. The living room is decked out in a carousel of ornaments, with giant areca palms framing a shelved feature wall and a grand ornamental fireplace. The dining room is a joy to gather in with its leafy wallpaper and 1950s pink mirror table, while the kitchen looks like a vintage bakery counter with its island, breakfast bar and wicker chairs. Upstairs, the red-curtained bedroom is a sumptuous affair with a mind-boggling floating bed and a freestanding tub that invites long soaks after a day of sightseeing. Speaking of things to do, go out and explore the local area – Isola is packed full of cool cafes, trendy shops and family-run trattorias, while the Duomo is walkable in forty-five minutes. Even with Milan’s stunning sights within easy reach, with your own private oasis to escape into, we don’t see any reason to ever leave. 


Arboreal

Found in an Aparthotel in the beating heart of Milan, this room might be small, but it knows how to make an impression. Echoing the sort of art-exhibition feel of the lobby, the room displays bold prints on the wall that you might admire as you’re nursing your first coffee of the day. Head down shortly after in search of breakfast on the patio, or wander off to find a cafe in the surrounding area. But don’t worry, just because you don’t have your own kitchen doesn’t mean you can’t bring back tiramisu – just pop it in the mini-fridge to keep cold. 

When you’re not eating delicious Italian cake in bed as you read, you might be admiring the Duomo during the day or visiting the Teatro alla Scala for an evening opera, followed by drinks at The Roof Milano, overlooking the city.
