This delightful apartment feels a million miles from the hustle and bustle but boasts a remarkable location in central Milan. It’s housed in a turn-of-the-century building overlooking two 18th-century villas and their gardens – there’s a balcony to enjoy the view. The apartment combines old-world charm with contemporary convenience, with modern amenities that’ll make your stay comfortable alongside charming details like ornate mouldings and tall windows. You’ll be just a ten-minute walk from Museo del Cenacolo Vinciano, which is home to Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece, The Last Supper. There’s a tram stop and two metro stations within easy reach, which makes seeing further afield a breeze. We think it's perfect for a couple seeking a home-from-home in Milan.

This home is enormous. It’s easily the largest home in our Milan collection – it can house a staggering eighteen people if you make full use of the various beds and sofa beds set across the five separate suites. Set over three floors in a Liberty-style villa, each of the suites comes with a certain degree of autonomy (kitchenettes, en-suite bathrooms and the like). It’s not in the city's medieval centre, but there’s no way you'd find this much space if you were much more central. The Tre Torri neighbourhood is relatively residential, but you couldn't be more conveniently positioned to access the city centre – Buonarroti station (on Metro line 1) is just at the end of the road – a two-minute walk away. From here, you can access the Centro Storico – with all its piazzas, palaces, monasteries, basilicas and spectacular cathedral – in a little over ten minutes. This is also where you'll find Milan's fashionable boutiques – it's not known as Italy's style capital for nothing.

The use of marble in Sorbetto is a masterstroke. It cools down the air, providing respite from the hot, dry Milanese summers, as well as giving it a sense of brightness and clarity. There’s also a decent balcony, which might not be huge but looks out into the trees beside the house and adds to the feeling of calm. It is, however, important to be aware that Sorbetto isn’t very central. It’s well-connected by the metro, but getting anywhere on foot will take at least half an hour.

Located on the top floor of a historic building, this home is tucked behind Chinatown (the oldest in the country) and just a thirteen-minute walk from Parco Sempione, where you can spend some time wandering through the city’s greenery until you arrive at Castello Sforzesco. You’ll be staying in a lively and local area, a quick twelve-minute walk from the nightlife hubs of City Life and Arco della Pace, but for a lowkey night out you’ll be by the neighbourhood’s buzzing restaurants and bars. Inside, you’ll find this small space has been carefully designed – bright skylights overhead, a custom-built kitchenette and an angular breakfast nook are arranged to make the most of the little footprint. Striking red furniture and calming blue walls transform this modest modern home into a bold, personality-packed base. So relax on the sofa, enjoy breakfast at the counter and fall asleep soundly in the bedroom, feeling right at home.

It might seem like a strange place to start, but Ensign’s kitchen is quite remarkable. Of course, not everyone will appreciate the over-the-top design, but the commitment is undeniable. All in all, it comes together well, with a real sense of playfulness. It’s small enough that long-term stays might end with you feeling a bit cooped up, but for shorter stays, it’s more than enough.

Simple yet stylish, this apartment is perfect for a city break. Its large windows look out over Piazza Gramsci, which is just a two-minute walk away. There are excellent public transport links, so exploring the rest of Milan is as easy as can be – and you’ll be within walking distance of attractions including Sempione Park and Castello Sforzesco. The apartment boasts a crisp, clean style and comes with all the necessities, including a well-equipped kitchen. With four guests staying here, two will sleep on a sofa bed in the living space – if you’re hoping for more space, we’d stick to a guest count of two.

The apartment has a clean and modern design, yet still retains some of the building’s original character – see the ornate bedroom ceiling and Juliet balcony, which add authentic charm.

If getting a good night’s sleep is important to you, this is a great choice for your city break. The apartment is just off a shared courtyard that’s peaceful and private, so your slumber will be undisturbed. And you’ll need your rest after action-packed days exploring stylish Milan. 

The Amendola metro stop is just a three-minute walk from the apartment, so you can explore the key sights with no trouble at all. The Duomo di Milano and its incredible architecture is a fourteen-minute journey away on the metro, and it takes twelve minutes to reach Castle Sforzesco. There you can wander through the beautiful gardens before seeing some of the city’s most famous artwork. 

For shopping, stroll nineteen minutes to Corso Vercelli. You’ll find high-end boutiques alongside smaller local stores. If you find yourself laden down with shopping bags and in need of a break to refuel, fear not. There are attractive eateries on almost every corner, with more than a few cocktail and wine bars to tempt too.

With a great address in the historic centre of Milan, this apartment is within walking distance of some of the city's iconic sights. The Duomo di Milano is around fifteen minutes on foot, while the Castello Sforzesco is just over a five-minute stroll. So that's the location – what about the apartment? Well, there's a well-equipped kitchen for cooking some tasty Milanese cuisine. We'd say this home doesn't really have a homely feel, but it's a comfy place to stay while exploring all that Milan has to offer.

A simple flat with an emphasis on clean lines, Echoes is a really good option for short stays in Milan. Over a longer period, the lack of washing machine might start to grate, but that’s really the only thing we can think of. It’s just off Corso Magenta, a main road that leads all the way in to the city centre, and there’s a metro station nearby as well, so getting further afield is simple.

This flat is one of those places that makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive. It's full of gusto – think vivid greens, bright reds, glitzy gold mirrors and at the centre of it all, a gorgeous jungle-themed wallpaper that adds the perfect amount of pizazz. 

The living room was our favourite spot to relax and unwind after a long day, but the Japanese-style bathroom, Scandi-style kitchen and the cosy bedroom were just as stylish. Although there's nowhere to sit, we enjoyed the small balcony, too – it catches the evening sun and looks out over the bustling city streets, so you can stand with a glass of wine and watch the world pass by. 

Location-wise, you're nestled at the edge of Chinatown and Sempione, so there's a vast array of bars and restaurants of all types within walking distance. Runners can start their morning off with a jog through Parco Sempione (fourteen minutes on foot) before enjoying a day sightseeing – Castello Sforzesco (a twenty-minute stroll), Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (half an hour on foot) and the Duomo (walkable in thirty-five minutes) are all within easy reach.

This Milanese apartment is located just five minutes from Arco della Pace and beautiful Sempione Park. You’ll be able to see the sights of Milan with no trouble at all, thanks to great transport links – there are metro, tram, and bus options just a stone’s throw from the apartment. When you’re not out soaking up everything the city has to offer, you’ll love calling this loft home. There’s an indoor pool and sauna that make downtime as relaxing as can be, and the decor is modern and cool – though those with a fear of heights may not enjoy the glass flooring.

Experience Milan in this apartment, which is within walking distance of Arco della Pace and Piazzale Giulio Cesare. There are also plenty of local cafes and shops, while public transport links are a short stroll away when you want to explore the rest of the city. After a busy day, there are communal gardens here, as well as a private balcony to relax on, while inside is modern and bright. The living room also sleeps guests three and four on a sofa bed. This place is ideal for a business professional looking to be near Milan’s business district, but equally, it will suit families and friends looking to live like a local.

Milan's Chinatown is a diverse, well-connected neighbourhood, and this ground-floor apartment is the perfect base for exploring the city. Don't miss the grand Parco Sempione on your way into the city – you can't miss the Arco della Pace at the park entrance. The mezzanine bedroom is a highlight, where there's just enough space to unwind after a busy day. However, there's also a ground-floor bedroom and a sofa bed if you'd rather have a bit more head space. While there's not too much space in the kitchen (and a lack of natural light), you'll find everything you need to cook meals – that's if you don't fancy the numerous pizzerias in the neighbourhood.

There’s an incredible amount of natural light in this chic, pared-back apartment that makes the whole space dazzle. With its floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides, the open-plan living area gives you privileged views across Milan’s rooftops and a living backdrop to admire from the comfort of the sofa or while enjoying a meal at the stylish round dining table. 

The two bedrooms, meanwhile, have a similarly modern aesthetic, with an en-suite main bedroom letting you wake up to more tall window views and a second bedroom equipped with a desk space should you need to catch up on work. 

You’ve also got access to a communal rooftop terrace – the ideal spot to take in sunset views of the Duomo di Milano over a celebratory Spritz before going out to sample the local restaurant scene. 

When it comes to sightseeing, you couldn’t ask for a more central location. You’ll love waking up to Milan rooftops views from your fourth-floor position and being able to see the city’s countless sights up close thanks to your prime locale.

On the edge of Brera and Garibaldi, Artemis is wonderfully placed for both the nightlife that fills the area, and for getting to other parts of the city. The flat has a sense of individuality to it – the design is sophisticated, with lots of beautiful objects that elevate it beyond what you might reasonably expect from a place of its size. It’s all fairly valuable, so for that reason the host, Rita, would prefer to rent to adults, or at least not young children.

Close to the metro, museums, and many delicious eateries, this apartment gets full marks for its location. It's on the cusp of the trendy Brera district, yet only a twenty-minute walk from landmarks like the Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. We love the amount of space on offer inside. The living area is bathed in sunlight and has plenty of room to rest weary feet, though the kitchen is compact. Having two en-suite bathrooms is another bonus – perfect for those wanting privacy.

Milan Mood

This contemporary studio apartment in the upscale Quadrilatero Della Moda neighbourhood is perfect for a couple or solo traveller. The apartment's location is ideal for exploring the vibrant city of Milan, with easy access to Teatro alla Scala, Duomo di Milano, and the shopping street, Via della Spiga. Although the apartment is compact and there is no kitchen on offer here, it provides a comfortable base to relax between adventures – the balcony is a big check in our books, too. With excellent transport links to the rest of the city via the nearby Montenapoleone metro station, this pad is the perfect home for your Milan city break.

Concordia is really charming – Milco is a wonderful host, and she’s done a really good job at making this flat very welcoming. It’s worth mentioning though that the little space between the bedroom and the living room is a bit strange. It feels like it should be a second bedroom, with some bunk beds against the wall, but it’s actually a hallway, and the only place from which you can enter the bathroom. Given the size of the place, we’d only really recommend people using the bunk beds if completely necessary.

Sleek and elegant, this Milanese apartment is the perfect choice for a couple’s getaway. Sure, the lift only takes you part of the way up to this fifth-floor pad, but the remaining stairs are worth the effort. Step through the door and you’ll be drawn to the private terrace –  a bonus being this high up, just mind your head on those beautiful beams and sloping ceilings as you make a beeline for the sunny spot. Keen on a trip out? Take a two-minute walk to the Santa Maria delle Grazie, where Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper" was painted.

The terrace, along with the vast windows, helps counter some smaller issues with Bredbeddle. As a whole, it’s a lovely flat – the white walls and brilliant light give it a sense of space and calm. As you step onto the balcony, it’s as if you’re no longer in the city, so intense is the green that greets you on all sides. You are, however, very much in the middle of the city, and there are lots of good places to eat nearby, which is important given that the kitchen is the biggest letdown in the place. It’s very small, and you wouldn’t want to do more than heating up a pot there.

This modern loft is ideally situated in central Milan, just a few steps from Corso Como and around the corner from Bosco Verticale. There’s a metro station a one-minute walk away, making it effortless to see sights like the Duomo, which is twenty minutes away. The loft apartment is a comfortable fuss-free base, with a petite kitchen and dining area. The bedroom is on the mezzanine level, partially open to the floor below where there’s a sofa bed – if you’re hoping for more privacy, we’d stick to a guest count of two.

Nestled in the charming Moscova area of Milan, this apartment pops you into the heart of the action. Sure, it’s fuss-free and simple in design, but you’ll find everything needed for a comfortable stay in the city. Location-wise, you’ll find Milan Cathedral, Sempione Park and Sforzesko Castle within easy reach, while the nearby metro makes hopping further afield a breeze. And when dinnertime rolls around, you’ll find a selection of eateries on your doorstep, waiting to serve up a true taste of Italy. 

Moscova Modern

Art museums, designer shops, fantastic restaurants – Milan's Brera neighbourhood is the place to be if you love the finer things in life. It's where you'll find this no-frills apartment, situated just a short walk from tram stops and a metro station. While two guests will sleep on a sofa bed, we don't think you'll have to compromise on space. There are desks in each bedroom if you plan to work from home, a sleek kitchen if you fancy rustling up dinner, and even a terrace where you can enjoy an alfresco aperitif.

The Prodigy

There’s a real sense of serenity to this home in Milan’s Porta Venezia district with its beamed ceilings, rustic-meets-modern furniture and its oasis-like terrace. Boasting shuttered French doors in each room leading out onto this calm outdoor space, you can while away the hours here, enjoying alfresco breakfasts and sunset drinks aplenty. We love the tiled details in the home too – especially in the green bathroom and behind the kitchenette – as well as the ornate copper fireplace in the master bedroom. Whether you’re gathering around the rustic dining table for dinner, sipping a cool glass of wine on the terrace or kicking back on the sofas with a good book, this home welcomes socialising and relaxation in spades. Outside of your home, the Giardini Indro Montanelli is just a ten-minute walk away, while the Duomo di Milano is just under thirty minutes from your door. The Milano Centrale Railway Station is also just ten minutes away on foot for allowing for easy exploration further afield.

This is a delightful little apartment in the shadow of the Sforzesco Castle. The sprawling greenery of Sempione Park is right on your doorstep and the Duomo, Royal Palace and Teatro alla Scala are all within a fifteen-minute walk. We love the apartment’s terrace, which is home to all sorts of pot plants and cacti, and a table and chairs for a cold glass of something (there's a dedicated wine fridge inside). The designer sofas and curated collection of coffee table books in the living room are everything you’d expect in Italy’s capital of style. But it’s the ceiling that draws the eye – a slant of white-washed wood beams adding a delightfully rustic touch, and lending itself to make-shift books shelves in every available nook and cranny. Despite the proximity to both the castle and the Brera district (home to cafés, restaurants and luxury fashion boutiques), this place is in a residential block, so you’re guaranteed a little peace and quiet.

There are so many good things about Sailor’s Solace that it’s hard to know where to start. We adore the living room, a place that feels down-to-earth and yet special at the same time – especially when it fills with sunlight. It’s hard not to flop into the hammock as soon as you see it, and even harder to peel yourself away. At this unique home, it's tempting just to stay in, passing the evening on the terrace with a Campari for company.

But when in Milan, there's much to see. And here, you’re close enough to most of the major attractions to walk (and if you weren’t, there’s a station nearby). Start with the medieval Sforzesco Castle, just a ten-minute walk away. The 15th-century structure sits on an expanse of beautifully-manicured gardens – there's even an aquarium, ideal if you're travelling with children. 

From here, wind your way towards the Duomo, stopping for a coffee and cannoli somewhere along the way. The cathedral is like nothing else you've ever seen, constructed from elegant pink marble.

Set amid the historical attractions of Milan's San Vittore district, this sleek apartment is a great choice for families and groups of friends ticking off the major sights. The stylish living and dining area caught our eye, as well as the sociable kitchen island which is ideal for group breakfasts before setting off for a busy day in the city. When you're ready to explore, landmarks such as the Sforzesco Castle and Santa Maria delle Grazie Church (home of The Last Supper) are within easy walking distance.

Overlooking the beautiful church of San Giorgio al Palazzo and less than five-minutes away from the Duomo, lies this light-filled penthouse. Spread out across the top floor of an elegant building, the home is made for a family or a group of friends set on exploring the city.  We particularly loved the living spaces which make for easy socialising. The original marble fireplace and custom-made bookcases create the perfect setting to come together for a few pre-evening drinks. And surprisingly, for somewhere this central we found the apartment very quiet. It really is the perfect retreat within the hustle and bustle of Milan.
