This bright and beautiful home is just a stroll from the centre of Ostuni and its historic beauty. Made up of two separate villas with one large outdoor area, we think it's a great choice for families and friend groups. For an additional fee, four extra guests can be accommodated on sofa beds in the living rooms, and while the kitchenettes here are quite small, the private pool and extensive space for alfresco dining make up for the cosy interiors. We think it's worth having a car here to get the most out of your trip – you'll find some lovely villages like Cisternino nearby, and the gorgeous beaches of Torre Guaceto are a short drive away.

Ostuni's Olive Retreat

This cosy studio apartment is in a 16th-century mansion renovated into apartments. The charm and history of the home have been retained – you can even visit the original chapel, and the coat of arms of one of the first families to own the home can be seen on the front door. Inside, space is limited, and the sleeping arrangements aren’t the most comfortable or private – we think this is best suited to one adult and one child sharing. You will have access to the shared lounge and relaxation area though, giving you a bit more room to spread out.

Part of a grand 16th-century mansion that’s been lovingly restored into apartments, this home is an excellent base in Ostuni for a couple or a small family. We think at most two adults can stay here comfortably as it’s on the smaller side – the pull-out bed is definitely better suited to children. It’s not massive but it does have heaps of charm, and the kitchen window looks out over the city’s rooftops. You’ll also have access to shared facilities including a relaxation area and an ancient chapel.

And the outdoor kitchen means you won't have to tear yourselves away from the views at meal times either. Traditional stone interiors remind you of your location in Puglia, while modern furnishings ensure comfort and practicality meet in the middle. Only 50 metres from the local grocery stores selling fresh produce – you'll get to live like a local here.

There’s plenty of character inside with its vaulted ceilings and stone steps (these are quite steep, mind). The location here is great, you’ll find a bakery 200 metres away, so that’s breakfast and lunch covered, while there’s a museum 500 metres from here. There’s also the Zagaredde antique market every second Sunday of the month, 900 metres from this home.

Given the lack of privacy in the shared bedroom, this ground-floor apartment may be best suited to a young family of three, but it's a great base for sightseers with busy schedules. While the historic sights of the city might keep you close to home, the Adriatic coast is only 8 kilometres away if you feel like a beach day.

Located in a sixteenth-century building in the heart of Ostuni, this functional apartment makes a great base for exploring the historic town. We were big fans of the small industrial kitchenette, while the stone walls and arching brick ceilings speak to the building's history. The living area only being accessible by a ladder isn't exactly convenient, but luckily you'll find plenty of shared spaces within the building – perfect if you're looking to mingle with your fellow guests. And the communal bath area strikes us as ideal for unwinding after a day traversing Ostuni's winding streets.

Located just 4km from the town of Francavilla Fontana, and 15km from Ostuni, known as 'The White City,' this home is situated to explore the region's many wonders.

This ancient, light-stone property in Ostuni offers big groups exclusive use of a B&B in the centre of town. A breakfast buffet is included every day – best enjoyed at the scattering of tables on the sunny terrace – and guests have private use of the small, heated spa pool. There is plenty of space to dine, but the kitchen is set up as a B&B counter and there isn’t a dedicated living room. Bedrooms are all suites and some have their own seating areas and mini bars. Those who appreciate a little more privacy can bag one of the bedrooms that has direct street access.

Charming, cosy, and central – just how we like our homes. You'll find this pocket-sized pad in the heart of Ostuni, a stone's throw from the landmarks. Spend your days exploring on foot, getting lost in the picturesque squares and meandering along the white-washed streets. The design is a bit more bare-bones than we're used to – for instance, the kitchenette lacks an oven and the main bedroom is open to the lounge – but we're fans of the stone walls and arched ceilings. Besides, plenty of eateries are within walking distance, so it makes a great starting point for sightseeing.

Stay in the heart of Ostuni at this central home. Unsurprisingly, sightseeing is a breeze here – the Duomo is just a ten-minute stroll away. Back home, stone arches and a white-washed colour scheme evoke the area's heritage. The kitchenette is best for quick bites, but many restaurants and local eateries are within walking distance. All in all, it's a tad snug for four, so we think it's well-suited as a base camp in between adventures.
