Centuries-old stone arches curve above a mezzanine bed in this characterful apartment in Gagliano del Capo, tucked into the lanes of a traditional Salento village. The living space balances original stonework with a modern touch, and a whitewashed courtyard terrace makes for an easy spot to eat alfresco as the sun sets. The dramatic Salento coastline is on your doorstep – a path leads from this home to picturesque cove of Baia del Ciolo, with the sea cave at Grotta Zinzulusa and the fishing port of Tricase Porto both just a short drive away.

Salento Stone & Sky

This chic, modern villa is an ideal base for a family or small group of friends seeking a coastal stay. Packed full of Puglian charm, you’ll find everything needed for a comfortable break here, but the cherry on top for us is the outdoor space. Sun-kissed terraces, a private pool, alfresco dining opportunities and sea views stretching for miles – what’s not to love? Locally, it’s a mere six kilometres to Santa Maria di Leuca and less than four kilometres from the beaches of Pescoluse Torre Vado – there’s something for everyone here.

Apulian Breeze

Peace and privacy are what this villa in Torre Pali is all about. Its sprawling garden is home to an impressive pool with sea views and tonnes of space for the little ones to run around. Well, that's if you're not out and about, discovering all this scenic area has to offer. It's just over a kilometre to the beaches of Southern Salento in Torre Pali and three kilometres from the renowned "Maldives of Salento", making this a great base to explore this stunning region. That said, a car is a must if you intend on doing just that.

Golden Stone House

Few villas wear their age as well as this 1926 Mediterranean residence in Castrignano del Capo, where a sea-view terrace and a private garden descending directly to the water make the Salento coastline feel entirely yours. Inside, floor-to-ceiling sliding doors frame open water from the living room, a cinema room with a projector and corner bar sits on the upper floor, and a heated indoor pool with hydromassage keeps things comfortable well beyond beach season. The heart of Leuca is just a short stroll away, while the prehistoric sea caves of Grotta del Diavolo and the beaches of Pescoluse are all within easy reach by car.

Leuca's Edge

Whether you prefer to relax by the private pool or on the roof terrace, you’ll find the perfect spot to unwind here. The latter has a hot tub and views of the countryside and the Ionian Sea, as well as a shaded seating area. Inside, there’s no formal living room, but there’s a seating area in the bedrooms and a generous kitchen with a large dining table perfect for meals with family or friends. Situated near the picturesque town of Salve, this villa is also just under 8 kilometres from the beautiful La Maldive di Salento beach.

Barefoot Splendour

Perfect for a pair, this pocket-sized pearl is proof that good things come in small packages. Though the all-in-one layout won't suit everyone, it has all the basics you'll need to settle into Salento life. The kitchenette is compact but still fully functional for light bites, and there's a little grill outside for alfresco dining. And the biggest draw is the private plunge pool – ideal for afternoon dips. You'll find it tucked away on the grounds of a historic palazzo in Cannole, offering access to communal gardens and another shared pool. With Otranto, Leece, and other charming towns within driving distance, we think it's a hidden gem.

Cannole Pearl

Tucked away in the heart of a historic village in southern Puglia’s Salento region, this beautiful home blends traditional architecture with modern comforts. You’re just 3.5km from the clear waters of Marina di Andrano and 6km from the stunning coastal citadel of Castro Marina. The town centre and shops are only 50 metres away, so everything’s within easy reach. After a day exploring, unwind in the small pool with hydromassage or relax in the charming garden under the Puglian sky.

Il suono delle campane

You’ll have your pick of outdoor spaces that make the most of the beautiful Puglian weather in this small villa. Ideal for a getaway for two, it’s perfect for a romantic stay in the sun. Take a dip in the pool – shared with the neighbouring property – and dry off on a lounger before having afternoon tea on the private shaded terrace. Though the kitchen is on the smaller side, there are no in-unit laundry facilities, and one person will need to sleep on the sofa bed at full occupancy, the location more than makes up for it. It’s a five-minute drive to the seaside town of Torre Vado, where beaches and restaurants await.

Salento Pearl

With distant sea views, a private pool, and a charming verandah that acts as an extension to the inside of the home, it’s not hard to see why this villa caught our eye. We think it’s an ideal base for small families seeking an Italian break on the coast. Surrounded by quaint towns just waiting to be explored, there’s plenty to occupy your time here, but in an area famed for its golden beaches and crystal clear waters, a day splashing in the sea is a must. And you’re in luck – Pescoluse beach, nicknamed the ‘Maldives of Salento’, is a mere two kilometres away.

Whispering Grace

Get a taste of rural Italian living at this villa, right at the bottom of Italy’s ‘boot’ in the Salento region. It’s got a lot going for it, especially if you like outdoor living – think private saltwater swimming pool, hammocks, sun loungers and a wood-fired barbecue. Though the decor may not be to everyone’s taste, the location more than makes up for it – it’s a mere five-minute drive to get to Santa Maria di Leuca, where you can explore the dramatic coast and discover hidden sea caves.

A Sunny Stay

Tucked away in a quiet area near the sea on the Ionian coast, this villa has serenity written all over it. Made up of the main villa and a separate annexe, both sleeping four – albeit with two guests on a sofa bed – it’s the perfect choice for those who like to holiday together yet still enjoy some private time. Outdoors, you can admire the sea views from the private pool or sun-kissed terrace. If those vistas tempt you to the coast, it’s a mere two kilometres to Torre Pali beach, where sun, sea and sand await.

Sea Gem

Tucked away behind a bustling square in the historic heart Andrano, this beautifully restored home blends Mediterranean character with a decidedly style. Walk through the threshold to find an expansive ground floor featuring soaring vaulted ceilings, an open-plan living space, a Carrara marble kitchen, and a mezzanine study space watching over it all. The real highlight is the courtyard though – with its shady pool, cosy dining space and plentiful sunbathing spots. When you’re ready to explore, picturesque Andrano is right on your doorstep, or take a scenic drive to the coast – just ten minutes away.
