You’ll find this apartment just a short stroll from the Roman Forum and Colosseum, so the location is amazing. It’s also within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and more. There’s also an array of eateries on your doorstep (your friendly hosts can give you plenty of recommendations) or cook some Italian cuisine back in this apartment’s compact but well-equipped kitchen. The living room with its views over the neighbourhood is a great place to relax and the bedrooms are also a good size, and one has a desk for when you need to catch up on work. This place offers a truly unforgettable Roman holiday.

The Roman View

The way Onsen is laid out makes it quite an unusual flat. You have two separate suites, each with its own kitchen (and each available to rent individually), which share a small courtyard. It’s the kind of place that, if misjudged, could be quite soulless, but luckily that’s not the case here. The design, heavy on plants and nods to Japanese culture, fits the space perfectly, and amplifies the brightness and sense of space. And while there isn’t much entertainment on offer (most notably, there’s no TV), the streets of Monti outside should provide all the entertainment you need.


Onsen

With elegant views overlooking the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, this central apartment is within convenient walking distance of some of Rome's most sought-after restaurants and landmarks. Modern home comforts feature through the home's contemporary designs, including a jacuzzi bathtub and a work-from-home station – allowing you to strike a balance between business with relaxation. Meanwhile, the small balcony offers an extra finishing touch and a scenic spot to enjoy your morning coffee. While the hotspots of Rome are within walking distance, if you're arriving from other cities by car, reach out to the host, as you may be able to reserve a private parking spot here too. 



A Roman Reign

Paquino is perfectly comfortable, and while it lacks a bit of flair in the design department, it’s pleasant to look at. None of this really matters though, because the big thing going for it is the position, right in the heart of Monti. There are loads of excellent restaurants around (although the kitchen is actually pretty good, easily enough for a decent meal) and you really are in the cobbled streets among the ancient ruins that define the city.


Paquino

What a great location this lovely home has – it's just a six-minute stroll from Emperor Nero's Golden House (Domus Aurea), while the Colosseum is eight minutes on foot and the Roman Forum is ten.

Back at this apartment, housed in a 19th-century building, there's a wonderful terrace with a comfy sofa, which is just what you need after a day exploring the Eternal City. There's a dining table here too, perfect for alfresco suppers of cacio e pepe (a Roman staple of pasta, pepper and cheese). Inside, we love that there's a lot of natural light, which helps the trendy Sansevieria plants to thrive. Mix up a Campari in the modern kitchen and relax on the plush purple sofa – bliss.



Odes & Hymns

This apartment's address is perfect if you want to be within walking distance of some of Rome’s key landmarks. The Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Roman Forum are just a few to mention. You’ll also have plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants on your doorstep. Another highlight of the home, in our opinion, is the terrace with its fire pit, barbecue and dining area. This great outdoor space is accessed from the modern and stylish open-plan living room. And if you need to work while away, two of the comfy bedrooms have desks. We think this apartment has everything you need for your Eternal City stay.

Roman Paradise

Step off a leafy Esquilino street and through the huge old doors to find this fourth-floor apartment in all of its whitewashed glory. Pristine and modern, the home is touched with earthy tones—olive and celery greens, taupe and leafy houseplants. All of your mod-cons are neatly concealed by a veneer of light oak, so you can keep your attention firmly on devouring the welcome wine and snacks provided by your host. Turn right out of your building and take the ten-minute waltz over to Parco del Colle Oppio for its ancient ruins and prime views of the mighty Colosseum. When it’s time for dinner, you couldn’t be better placed to sample authentic Italian grub. Your home is surrounded by family-run bakeries, ristorantes and those all-important gelaterias. 

Il Principe

Despite its diminutive footprint, this city-centre apartment is packed with interesting oddities from all over the world. While this could lead to clashing styles in less careful hands, the design is surprisingly cohesive throughout. In addition, the apartment is set in a historic eighteenth-century building right in the middle of bohemian Monti, one of the city's oldest residential yet most soulful areas. You're in the centre of a triangle that includes the Roman Forum, Colosseum and Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore. Each of these standout sights is within a ten-minute walk of your front door. You're spoiled for choice when it comes to excellent eateries nearby – tuck into a mouthwatering menu of hearty dishes at Ai Tre Scalini, indulge in timeless classics at Roman institution La Carbonara and enjoy expertly crafted dishes and local wine at Aromaticus. To top it all off, Tania is a great host – where else would you find a freshly baked cake waiting for you on arrival?

The Happy Couple

Soft colours anchor Centurion Flax’s interior – a savvy decision that prevents anything from overshadowing the beautiful frescoes on the ceiling. As a whole, it’s a relaxing, grown-up place, never brash, and with an air of quality to the furniture and fittings. There’s also a small balcony, looking out onto Via Palermo, but it’s too small to spend a lot of time outside. Besides, there are so many interesting bars and cafes around that if you were after aperitivo or breakfast, you aren’t short of options.


Centurion Flax

Moments from the Colosseum, this apartment brings you to the ancient heart of Rome. You can stroll to wine bars, local markets and iconic sights like the Basilica of San Clemente and Via dei Fori Imperiali. There are great public transport links offering quick connections with the rest of the city. And when you’re looking to relax, this apartment offers a refreshing base to switch off and unwind. Two of the bedrooms are tucked away on the mezzanine level and there’s an office room with a desk for remote workers. 

Ancient Soul

Classical Roman style is on full display at The Terrace Palermo. From the grand piano, the antiques, the artwork, and even the rustic structure itself send a rush to the head as you enter – it’s not the kind of place you'll forget in a hurry. It’s unashamedly ornate, and over-the-top but deliciously so. Sit down in the regal living room with a good book, while noticing the ornamental fireplace, frescoed ceiling and 17th-century paintings. Those working from home during their stay will find a traditional reading room that will have you powering through like never before. To stay here is to move into a bygone era of Roman refinement and sophistication. And this is all before you even reach the rooftop sun terrace – from here, you can look across the picturesque skyline, taking in the Colosseum on one side and the Presidential Palace on the other. It comes complete with all the different types of garden furniture, from a dining table and chairs to comfy recliners, so whether you're topping up your tan or dining alfresco long into those everlasting summer evenings, it's perfectly suited. Down below, you'll find a beautifully typical Roman neighbourhood with an eclectic blend of historic buildings and contemporary bars. Last but certainly not least, you're just a twelve-minute stroll from the world's most famous amphitheatre – the Colosseum.
