This villa caught our eye for its impressive views across the Alghero Gulf. All rooms face the water so the sea views can be enjoyed from inside as well as outside. Outdoor living is made easy here thanks to a practical outdoor kitchen, a huge covered seating area, and an alfresco dining table. Lazy days can be spent cooling off in the infinity pool, relaxing on a lounger with a good book, and watching the sunset with your favourite cocktail in hand. The local town, Fertilia, has bars and restaurants, and for a slice of Sardinian history, a five-minute drive will take you to Alghero with its ancient walls, cobblestoned old centre, and gothic buildings.

Fancy exploring further afield? A mere fifteen-minute drive takes you to Alghero, which is well worth a visit.

Whether you’re a family or a group of friends, this villa provides a comfortable base from which to explore Sardinia’s northwest coast. While Luculumbu Beach is within walking distance, there’s not much else to do in the surrounding area, so a car is a must here. The home itself is well-appointed and the views of the Mediterranean Sea from the swimming pool speak for themselves. Just a heads up, bed linens and towels are an additional extra and will need to be booked before your arrival.

This comfortable home is just a short walk from the beach in La Ciaccia, making it the perfect base for a coastal adventure. While the interiors are nothing special (it's function over style), the highlight of this home is the two terraces. Upstairs, the bedrooms have direct access to a balcony, offering an extension of living space with sea views – you might prefer to be outside, as there's an extra fee for the air conditioning. Meanwhile, on the ground floor, the larger patio area has a barbecue and dining area for alfresco meals. If you don't fancy cooking, there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance – if you're looking for more amenities, we recommend visiting nearby Castelsardo, named one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

Located in the heart of Cala Rossa on Sardinia’s northern coast, this cosy beachfront apartment will charm you as soon as you walk in the door. The undisputed highlight is immediately evident when you cross the threshold – that view of the sea complemented by the pink-hued terrace, a perfect place to chat over a glass of wine. Though the kitchen is lacking some amenities, the easy access to the beach more than makes up for it – it’s just a 300 metre walk away.

If you’re in search of a slow-paced Italian break, this home delivers a sweet solution. There’s a little garden and a terrace with a barbecue for alfresco dining. Inside, the rooms are simple but thoughtfully designed for families with all the basic essentials you could need to settle in and relax. You can also enjoy access to the shared swimming pool which is open seasonally. We recommend having a car to explore further afield, but it’s just a short drive to the nearest sandy beach, while the nearest restaurant and bar are a short walk away.

The view is everything here. This modern villa stands in Portobello di Gallura, just 800 metres from Baia dell’Amore beach, and boasts glorious views of the coast. From here you can explore the area's hidden coves and peaceful beaches on foot, and spend your evenings drinking in the spectacular sea sunsets. You’ll have a Jacuzzi to unwind in but no pool, so this home will really only appeal to those who enjoy sea swimming and the feel of sand underfoot. The twin rooms are ideal for children. Bedding and towels aren’t included in the price but can be provided for an additional fee.

Sun-seekers will love this Sardinian villa. It can be found in the village of Portobello di Gallura, just a short distance from the sandy shores of Cala Sassari. Its outside space is comprised of two large terraces with plenty of room for everyone to stretch out in the sun – and there are glorious sea views to admire. There's also a private pool. Inside the villa is crisp and modern, though you’ll have to pay for bed and bath linen (or bring your own). When you’re not at the beach, you can soak up the rays on the hiking and cycling trails of the Gallura area – it’s best to hire a car if you want to explore.

Now that's what we call a view. Whether you're relaxing on the balcony, swimming in the pool or whipping up a feast in the kitchen, you'll be able to watch the waves rolling in the sea. Although bed linen and towels are an additional cost, each bedroom is comfortable and cosy – but, as there's only space for eight around the table, we think ten guests will be a squeeze. Location-wise, Costa Paradiso is yours to discover. Li Cossi beach is less than a five-minute drive, with restaurants, bars and seasonal shops also within striking distance.

This apartment, just outside Valledoria, boasts dreamy coastal views. Pad out to the balcony, and you'll find sweeping panoramas of the sea, town, and mountains – if that's not the ideal backdrop, we don't know what is. While the interiors may not rival the scenery, the modern design is clean and comfortable. It has everything you need to settle in, from inviting bedrooms to a well-appointed kitchen. Keen to hit the beach? The sandy shores in San Pietro a Mare are 1.5 kilometres away – we recommend hiring a car for ease.

This villa has the feel of a sophisticated beach house. It’s sunny and bright, and it has a gorgeous garden with a private swimming pool. Best of all, it’s close to the golden sands and turquoise waters of Spiaggia Conca Verde, and faces La Maddalena Archipelago. Beautiful sea views can be admired from the covered terrace, and there are lots of cosy corners for romantic moments à deux. You won’t have free bedding or towels here, but your host has arranged for daily cleaning so you can focus on relaxing in the sunshine.

If you want to get some diving done while you’re in Sardinia, this could be the perfect base for you. This villa is in Santa Teresa di Gallura, just 450 metres from Baia Santa Reparata, a beach known for its colourful seabeds. You can also easily hop on a boat trip to explore La Maddalena Archipelago. When you’re on terra firma, you’ll enjoy the outside space here – the private pool and shaded terrace are where we’d be spending most of our time. Some of the decor is a little dated, but there’s also plenty of charm here – you’ll need to pay for bedding and towels though.

This San Teodoro home is a short drive from the buzzing Spiaggia Lu Impostu. With its white sand and calm waters, beach days are a no-brainer – but if you'd prefer a bit more activity, why not hike Monte Nieddu for viewpoints across the sea? Back home, a private swimming pool will keep you busy on lazy days, while a covered terrace makes the perfect spot to enjoy a tipple or two. Sleeping arrangements are flexible thanks to a double sofa bed in the living area – although, with only two bathrooms here, nine guests will certainly be a squeeze. You'll also have to pay for towels and linen or bring your own.

Situated on the north-western tip of Sardinia, just a six-minute walk from the white-sand shoreline of La Pelosa Beach, this modern apartment is pared-back, bright and breezy. Days begin with a cup of coffee in the open-plan living space before soaking up the sunshine from your private balcony. Should you start to feel peckish, the kitchenette is equipped for putting together quick snacks but if you fancy something a little more substantial, there’s a smattering of restaurants and cafes just 500 metres from your doorstep. 

Stretch your legs with a stroll over to the Punto Panoramico, thirteen minutes away, for knockout views of the Mediterranean or jump in the car and take the five-minute drive to the small fishing village of Stintino – we couldn’t get enough of the pastel-hued buildings and charming cobbled streets.

If rest and relaxation are top priorities, look no further than this villa on Sardinia’s northwest coast. The place is unfussy but well-equipped and the separate bedroom and bathroom are ideal for those who’d like their own space. Just so you know, bed linen and towels aren’t included in the price and will need to be requested at the time of booking. Outside, there are plenty of spots to unwind in the sunshine and the private pool offers knockout views of the Mediterranean Sea. Location-wise, you’re a short drive from traditional restaurants and Li Cossi Beach.

Just 200 metres from the beach, this Sardinian home is a slice of serenity. The terrace boasts sea views, making it the ideal spot to enjoy an alfresco meal or evening tipple. Inside, the design is dated, sure, but we think it's rather cosy – though you will have to pay extra for linen and towels. When you're ready to venture further afield, Santa Teresa di Gallura is a 25-kilometre drive away and well worth a visit.

Start your day with an espresso on the private terrace, spend the afternoon sunning on the sandy beach, and watch the sun go down from one of buzzing local restaurants. Sounds good, right? Just don't forget money to pay for towels and linens.
