As if sat on the very edge of the world, this villa is in a slice of countryside and coastline that sings Sardinia’s highest praises. Gaze out at the endless sun, sea and sky from the comfort of a sun lounger. When the heat gets too much, slip into the turquoise pool, or find shade under the covered terrace. The island’s rugged hillsides loom behind the terracotta-roofed home, painting a picture of idyllic Sicillian life. Though the kitchen, living and dining area indoors has everything you need, an outdoor kitchenette with a built-in barbecue, terrace seating, and an outdoor sofa mean alfresco living is at the forefront of this home. Bagging one of the ground floor bedrooms means immediate garden access, with everything pointing to the inviting pool. If you prefer your water saline and fringed with soft sand, head down to your local beach, or drive to the harbourside shops and restaurants of Porto Rotondo or Olbia. 

Saltwater Seafront

Blooming bougainvillea frames the stunning views this Sardinian home has to offer. It’s a romantic home set in the hills above Costa Smeralda, with plenty of room for a large group. The outside space is dreamy, with lush gardens and a huge veranda – though the swimming pool is shared with the other guests on the development. You’ll need to pay for your bed and bath linens – or bring your own – and we think hiring a car is a good idea if you want to get out to see more of north east Sardinia – and with these sea views, you'll be dying to hit the beach.

Bougainvillea Kiss

Close to boutiques, wine bars, and gelato shops, this one-bedroom apartment is handily located in the heart of historic Olbia. It also makes a great base for beach lovers who want to explore more of Sardinia’s north-east coast. Inside, the space is simple yet comfortable – and perhaps just a tad cosy when the sofa bed is set up in the living room. Our favourite feature is the terrace, perfect for soaking up a spot of sunshine or planning your day over morning coffee.

Purple Penthouse

Sit back, relax, and enjoy this home's stunning panoramas. Set in the pretty village of San Pantaleo, you'll have a bird's eye view of the surrounding stone buildings and granite mountains. The terrace is the best vantage point, where you can savour a glass of local wine as the sun goes down. Inside, the design is contemporary, but it lacks a bit of charm. With comfortable bedrooms (though you’ll have to pay for linen) and a breezy living area, everyone can spread out and get cosy. When you're ready to explore, head to Arzachena, 10 kilometres away, or make the short drive to the area's beaches.

Sardinian Dream

If rest and relaxation are top priorities, look no further than this villa on Sardinia’s northwest coast. The place is unfussy but well-equipped and the separate bedroom and bathroom are ideal for those who’d like their own space. Just so you know, bed linen and towels aren’t included in the price and will need to be requested at the time of booking. Outside, there are plenty of spots to unwind in the sunshine and the private pool offers knockout views of the Mediterranean Sea. Location-wise, you’re a short drive from traditional restaurants and Li Cossi Beach.

Sardinia in Bloom

Grab an authentic taste of Sardinia life with a stay at this contemporary home perched along the seafront of the bustling port town of Olbia. Its central location, set close to the town’s historic centre crammed with wine bars and a restaurant-lined plaza, will come in handy as there’s no kitchen at this home. It’s also worth noting there’s no living space to speak of. But with an impressive private balcony overlooking the island of Tavolara and the Gulf of Olbia for morning coffees and evening drinks, we don’t think you’ll mind.

Olive Heart

This villa is an excellent spot in which to admire the natural beauty of Sardinia. Thanks to the home's elevated position, guests get a wonderful view of the dazzling blue waters of Porto Rotondo from the upper floors. However, don't be surprised if the paradisical garden immediately below grabs your attention, too.

Out here in among the colourful flower beds and handsome granite walls, you can while away lazy afternoons paddling about in the swimming pool, catching some rays on the loungers or cooking up a storm in the outdoor kitchen (complete with a barbecue and pizza oven).

Inside, the home is spread across four floors, so while there are plenty of stairs, it feels cool and airy, thanks to the high ceilings, stark white walls and terracotta tiling underfoot. There's a discernible rustic theme to the design, from the wicker chairs and natural-themed artwork to the large rock feature in the main entrance hall.

With the nautical location, you might not be surprised to learn that there are two beaches that can be reached in just over a quarter of an hour's walk (Spiaggia dei Sassi and di Ira), while the historic city of Olbia takes a similar amount of time to reach in the car, too. Closer to home, there are a handful of restaurants, bars and discos in the local area.

Grand Finale

If you want to get some diving done while you’re in Sardinia, this could be the perfect base for you. This villa is in Santa Teresa di Gallura, just 450 metres from Baia Santa Reparata, a beach known for its colourful seabeds. You can also easily hop on a boat trip to explore La Maddalena Archipelago. When you’re on terra firma, you’ll enjoy the outside space here – the private pool and shaded terrace are where we’d be spending most of our time. Some of the decor is a little dated, but there’s also plenty of charm here – you’ll need to pay for bedding and towels though. 

Apples & Oranges

In the heart of Olbia's historical centre, you'll find this duplex apartment. Hidden behind a gated entrance, you'll be surprised to discover this serene space is only a stone's throw from the vibrant city. Ideal for a group of friends or a family, there's lots of space for everyone to co-exist or come together here, with a compact, custom-made kitchen that's perfect for light bites or lazy breakfasts. That being said, with so many authentic eateries just a short walk away, chances are you'll be out enjoying the local cuisine.

Olbia's Hidden Gem

Immerse yourself in the historic heart of Olbia with a stay in this apartment. You can stroll to local restaurants, cafes and shops. It’s also just a ten-minute drive to the nearest beach and you’re host can help arrange parking nearby if you’re traveling by car. Inside, the rooms have been thoughtfully designed to bring ease to your city stay. You’ll be treated to a welcome box with local produce upon arrival and it’s well equipped with all the essentials you could need – including a sound system and a Nespresso coffee machine. 


The Majesty

If you’re in search of a slow-paced Italian break, this home delivers a sweet solution. There’s a little garden and a terrace with a barbecue for alfresco dining. Inside, the rooms are simple but thoughtfully designed for families with all the basic essentials you could need to settle in and relax. You can also enjoy access to the shared swimming pool which is open seasonally. We recommend having a car to explore further afield, but it’s just a short drive to the nearest sandy beach, while the nearest restaurant and bar are a short walk away. 


Colours of Joy 

Often overlooked for its showier cousin – Costa Smeralda – the authentic port town of Olbia remains relatively untouched by tourism. Discover its charms at this dazzling new apartment overlooking the waterfront and just a short walk from the town's historic centre, crammed with boutiques, wine bars and a restaurant-lined plaza. More like a hotel room than an apartment – it's important to note there's no kitchen or living area here. However, that private terrace overlooking the sea is a nice touch for morning cuppas, and there's a coffee pod machine to kickstart your days.
